Man, I sure do regret not getting a Dreamcast when I saw it on clearance at Walmart one time back in the day. $50 for the unit with VMU and controller and each game was $1-$5 max. But they only had a selection of like 7 games and at the time my PS2 collection was already 50+.
I remember when I can find first-party VMUs for only seven dollars brand new just a few years ago. Now prices for them are just insane. I love how the physical modding scene has come up with an external AAA battery solution that addresses the issue with the button cell batteries draining almost immediately when you want to play a minigame or something on the unit.
Extra colours are cool, if you put some of you fav and most played game saves on them it's easier to remember what vmu they are on. Using the word fix was a bit misleading though, I was expecting a row of dead pixels to come back to life lol.
@@VideoGamesNewYork/videos/videos Not sure about other people, but for me It's fine not color matching really. Because most of the time it's the caps that is missing, and the main VMU is usually in the controller. Perfectly fine and pristine. It is great that you guys will be looking into offering extra caps.
I have a VMU2 & I wanted to know if this shell will work on it. Of course one will have to leave the SD card in there permanently or until you replace the shell again.
VM2 screen is smaller / lower. You can easily make the front plate fit but there will be a gap in the top. The Silicone pad and the D-PAD do work in the VM2. Also adding the little plastic nub that jumped out on MLP makes the D-PAD move better on the VM2
