Today I cut the cable and install a long range highly directional antenna in my attic with great success! Despite the on-line web sites telling me that I could only reach 39 stations from multiple towers both North & South of my location, I actually achieved 73 stations by slightly rotating the antenna in small steps until the reception was perfect!!
What I discovered was that once the antenna was mounted in my attic and hooked up to my house thru the amplifier, the fun of using a compass and rotating the antenna had just begun! I would rotate the antenna about 5 degrees and then search for channels. Slowly repeating this process until I maximized my reception provided many more channels than thought possible! Patience and perseverance paid off immensely!
