I recognize that this reply is a year late, but an answer is still an answer. So here it is: Very uncommon in the world today, animals that are not afraid of humans instinctively include humans. From an evolutionary biology point of view, almost all animals you can see commonly instinctively avoid humans simply because of natural selection: that trait has been bred for. The animals that aren't afraid of humans, well, they got massacred and went extinct. Famous example? Dodo bird of Mauritius... Wasn't afraid of humans and ended up becoming a meal until extinction.

Lack of facial expression ability means that you cannot really see fear and stress those birds are undergoing.

sugreev2001 who eats puffins? I've never heard of that, puffins mostly live on fish so no doubt they'd be a lean meat . I live in Newfoundland and have never heard of anyone eating puffins

I think it all went through his fingers. I think he might have been instructed on the details. For the bird it was a good opportunity to not dirty the burrow.
