Even dragons can eat too fast, and this is the type of "hiccup" they can end up doing. They don't have the diaphram like we do, but they do get a little bit of a muscle spasm for a while. Rose's

Once I went to the grocery store with my beardie and he got the hiccups and I thought he was jumping bc he got scared lol

Bearded dragons can't get hiccups. They would have to have a movable diaphragm, in which they don't.

Is this really a hiccup? My baby (estimated 3ish months, give or take) does this once (like at 1m 35ish seconds) then holds his/her beard out for a little while. No sounds or anything. I just assumed either gagging, which concerns me, or maybe they have to learn to puff their beards out? I have been trying to research all day and haven’t found anything useful yet.

Yes, for Rose, she was eating so fast and so much, it was a hiccup... and it was not long after she was eating. She did the beard thing, too, I think trying to completely swallow. This was one of the rare timesI gave her kale, and I think it was harder to getdown.

false. bearded dragons cannot hiccup. they don’t have a diaphragm. this is actually a result of malnourishment, dry throat, or even something more severe such as infection or lesion in the brain.

Interesting, the one time Murray deliberately drank water, he drank FOREVER. I'm not surprised any of them get hiccups from drinking, if they drink like that, lol

@@DoubleDragonHotel my adult male drank so much water once he threw it up, back before when the researched info wasn’t great, I didn’t feed him enough water, I realized then the internet info was false, they need water dishes and to drink regularly. Now they both will drink a couple times a week, and no more puking! Lol

@@torquess454 That's good to know! Mine never touch the water dishes, but I decided to get better ones and just leave them in there. Maybe they'll drink at some point.

@@DoubleDragonHotel my adult doesn’t touch his either, but probably cause I spoil him with syringes full of water lol my teenager does
