Thanks man, much appreciated. I think this book is pretty much all for me. I do commissions but there are none in this one. Couple of concepts were suggested to me, but I decide the content generally. Let the imagination run riot!

Hey man, good question and I'm glad somebody asked it. I started out like everybody, just writing my name on stuff but I wanted to be an artist. I copied a lot of stuff back in the 80s like we all did, mostly from the NYC writers, but I felt I wasn't getting much better. Eventually I started to study art a lot more- impressionism, character design, still life- all the kind of stuff that conventional artists study. I brought that knowledge to my graf work and this is the result. I'm always looking to get better and improve so I try lots of new things- forms, colours, shapes etc. I watch what other artists are doing and think about how I would do similar, but my way. You need to learn the tips and tricks that artists have to create things like depth and perspective, the way light hits objects, colour values etc. When you know that stuff, you can begin to really make your work look good.

I've had lots of letter types over the years. I get bored with the same ones. I started doing wildstyle again recently. You can see them on my latest vids. Straight letters and wildstyle just offer different challenges and aesthetics.
