What to do if you need to calm down not even in an hour after meditations and hot baths, but now? For me, that orange thing on the right that I call a "squeezer" did its best. It took on different shapes under the pressure of my fingers and overall felt very comfortable in my hand. You could imagine what you were holding, what was annoying and bothering you - deadlines, interpersonal relationships, quarantine, a hole in a sock, an avocado pit that wouldn't sprout - and hit that toy with all your might. It works out.
But the metal puzzle was more annoying because it's hard to get through if you've never done it - also with the Rubik's Cube. However, among all these soothing toys, I have a favorite that has aroused sympathy since childhood.
The next week I tried using a respiratory stabilization technique. The system is simple: you need to take breaths as deep as possible in your usual rhythm, focus on each one and try to breathe smoothly. Five minutes later, I was able to completely calm down. There is another method: first take four deep breaths and exhale, and then the same number quickly. Repeat after five seconds of rest.
