I’ve only just gotten into the fandom but I deeply appreciate this character. He’s a deep character, full of philosophies and riddles and is a trip to try and analyze. I love how there’s moments that he gets into the games Moomin and his other friends get into and he slips into a more fun and carefree nature, but then there’s other moments where he’s more mellow, maybe pensive and they’re just as wonderful. The bird talk, about the migration was deep and meaningful, and then you hit a scene where he’s deep into playing a character for when Snorkmaiden thinks she’s a princess. It’s fantastic and more notably, it’s relatable. Love the homeless gremlin man
Foreshadows episode 64 is close to the last episode Going south were Snufkin travels but gives his harmonica so that he want miss him which is weird cause he hibernates and when he wakes up in spring Snufkin plays the harmonica to him so Snufkin might have meant that he is tired of visiting Moominvalley and spending only 3-5 months travelling and can't go as further as the south pole
@@rosiecarlo355 Valid! I do like both voices but I think Snufkin's voices should be switched. He sounds so mush older in the old one, but so younger in the new one; while moonmin is the opposite.
...I ...have no idea how RU-vid led me to discover Moominvalley just a few days ago. But ever since I stumbled upon this beautiful valley, I have been binge watching videos and trying desperately to not fall in love with this gay cartoon creature that I know will leave me every winter...
I've recently found out about the moomins and it's so cute. But sincerely, I think Snufkin has a brotherly relationship with Moomintroll, and nothing more than that. People are free to ship who they want to, but still, I think it's very weird for a child to date an adult man. Besides, Moomintroll seems to like Smorkmaiden
Moomintroll and Snufkin are actually just a couple years apart from each other. Moomin is around 12-15 years old in this adaptation, and Snufkin is around 16-20 years old. The English Dub’s voices don’t match the ages as well as the original Finnish and Japanese versions. In Moominvalley, they are only around 2-3 years apart from each other (Moomintroll is 15 and Snufkin is a late teen/young adult)
the ages aren't really confirmed, but snufkin and moomin are around the same age, and at most just 2-3 years apart. Its fine to think they're in just a brotherly relationship, but snufkin is a child
I literally have no idea what this show is or where it came from, but I've seen three of these types of compilation videos and I can firmly say Snufkin is my favorite
That whole emotional scene where Snufkin talks about why he travels around and how it's his nature just like the birds flying south really hit me in the feels. Like seriously, why does no one talk about this scene?!
@@durratulaishah3703 Snufkin feels trapped during winter time when the valley is closed in. During spring he comes back and leaves if he feels like it.
Did you guys know that the creator of the Moomins, Tove Jansson, did so to create something beautiful and positive to combat the dark horrors of WW2 after it had ended.
Tove Jansson fun fact number 2: she was LGBT and her relationship with her partner, Tuulikki Pietilä, lasted decades, until her death. Their love does reflect in the Moomins, especially in the book "The Invisible Child". Reading that you can truly understand how pure, unconditional love people can actually feel towards one another.
@@itgetsworsetm9856 we don't speak of that. To be fair though, I haven't actually put myself through watching an episode of that so I don't know if it's any good. I'm trying not to be too mean.
Why is the moomins like a place you go to in your dreams? Like it's just so enchanting and calming and tbh I would love to go to moominvalley in my dreams.
Watched this show since I was born. I never realized how adorable he is. Is he suddenly blowing up internationally? I've been seeing a lot of these videos around, can someone explain if there's like a secret community or a fanclub for him or the Moomins, lol
Kind of. Since there's internet now, more people know about it, and it's more popular now because of the new remake Moomin Valley. I didn't get to grow up with the Moomins cause it wasn't shown where I live. I remember hearing that they are working on making it available in more places. Yes there are communities and fan clubs for the Moomins. It's really popular now. So feel free to check them out.
This show doesn't seem to be too well known in America, so I've never heard of it. Now I'm in my early 20s, and I've absolutely in love with this series.
@@KirbyLinkACW yeah I saw this since I was little here and there but never knew what it was, just some weird white hippos. Now I finally know and am happy. But yeah not much popularity in america
I did like Snufkin as a kid but now when i understand his character more and realize how much i can relate, i feel like i´ve developed even bigger crush for him. 😂
Exactly like me! He has always been my #1 fav character (and the one who I thought about the most) but I started developing an actual crush on Snufkin as I rewatched the show when I was 13
+Classy Like Me It was more of a joke about how we, as a collective, have bred and domesticated dogs from wolves for yrs causing dogs to live a more domesticated life rather than a natural one in the wild like their wolf counterpart.
