@@FriesianHorses Honestly, I don't know what kind of camera was used for this, but it's incredibly good! At one point, while she was still laying down and had that last foot still covered by membrane, I could have sworn I could make out a hoofcap in there. 😄 How long do those usually take to fall off in Friesians? :)

On her birthday, she catches her breath and breaths her first words “Anyone there?” From the darkness she hears “Yes little one, welcome!” The scent of the sweet hay and the tickle of the straw beneath her let her know she has arrived. A rustle in the darkness and the gentle nudges from her mother comfort her. The urge to stretch her legs after being curled up so long washes over her and she struggles to stand on shaky legs. All is good. Thanks Yvonne. 💕

What an great momma! She was beyond dutiful. Momma is loving and attentive to newborn Sanne. She definitely loves her new foal. I too prefer that the mare bond with her foal. Humans stay out of it! The mare knows what to do. I like that this stable allows the foals to be free and bonded to their mothers. There is more than enough time for training. Let the babies be babies...🥰

Absolutely stunning! Welcome, Sanne, to the community! I can tell she will be such a strong little lady, she tried so hard to find the milk! Sjirkje is so patient, I can hear her saying "to the left, sanne! no.. down a little, and right now.. no up.. try again!" lol So many great moments were captured in this, I loved her first whinny and the welcoming response from the rest of the herd! And that little buck at 13:21 lol Sanne said "leave me be! i want to do it by myself" haha i love it!

How beautiful is that. This is something I can never get tired of watching. It truly is a miracle, from God! It always amazes me that moms of any animal can carry inside of her something so big, it just amazes me. Oh, isn't she lovely and so strong. I love the sounds of the barn. She calls out and they welcome her. I miss hearing the horses gossiping in the barn especially at breeding time. It was hilarious when we were taking a mare to be bred back in the days before artificial insemination. The neighing would start with the stalls next to the mare and travelled through the barn complex. "Oooh, look who's going to see the stallion." They know what's going on. Can't wait to see this little filly running around in the indoor arena. 💖🐎💖

I watched countless videos of mare's foaling on RU-vid and there is always so much human interaction it spoils everything. Sometimes you are given the impression a horse is incapable of doing it by themselves. I admire and commend all of you for letting the mare and foal bond as nature intended. Nothing gives me more peace than to watch this process unfold. I could watch this interaction for hours and hours or at least when the foal wasn't sleeping! LOL.... Sometime I wish you had a stall camera where we could jump on and watch when we need a fix. Maybe another go fund me campaign for the equipment! I just love the insanely beautiful Friesian horses and if you ever allow visitors; a trip to the Netherlands would be peace to my soul.
