I guess I find everything cute appealing to me (edit: also THE PERSON AT 6:06 IS USING THE TERM GURO-KAWAII WRONG. For those of you who may be misinformed; Guro Kawaii is actually a bright aesthetic featuring grotesque and cute elements. Just like Cutegore, it features lots of blood, HOWEVER, Guro Kawaii features eyeballs and other organs as a main motif. The color pallete for much more bright rather than pastel, and red and purple are complimenting colors to pink rather than blue and yellow. Gloomy Bear is also a character used both in Cutecore and Guro Kawaii. A good but subtle example of Guro Kawaii is the official music video for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s PONPONPON. Hope this helped!)

not cutecore, but cutegore. Cutegore is like cutecore but with more blood and as mentioned, gore. Cutegore isn't romanticizing gore, it's more like the weirdcore aesthetic. Take it like this; A world with so much violence but everything is so cute you can't see it. Some may use it as a coping mechanism. I just wanted to say that before anyone assumes cutegore ppl romanticize gore!

Its a kinda big deal because it takes away from the japanese origins of the fashion !! “Cutecore” IS whitewashed/westernized kawaii kei. And some thing with “cutegore”. The real name for it is guro kawaii. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal but to take away from,, and completely ignore,, the origins of a fashion style is not a thing we should be doing.

I’m in the aesthetic itself, and have family that are on my moms side that are half Japanese that are her literal third to second cousins. @@cloudyz..editz_ I'm someone who's been interested in J-Fashion for my whole life, and in my opinion gurokawa(guro kawaii) and "cutegore" have pretty different traits. For example, gurokawa doesn't always use pastels, and sometmes focuses more on neons. And "cutegore" has more childish aspects, as does "cutecore." And "kawaii kei" isn't a thing. There's multiple kawaii styles, but there is not just one "kawaii kei". There's fairy kei, uchuu kei, yume kawaii, yami kawaii, guro kawaii, certain kinds of decora and lolita, etc. I think the styles people call "cutecore" and "cutegore" aren't quite any of those. I feel they deserve to be recognized as their own seperate styles, BUT given names that acknowledge their Japanese origin. The question is, of course, what would those names be?
