We lost my border collie "Jake" in 2015 aged 17. I named my baby son after him because he meant that much to us. We now have a tri colour called "Buster" whom we rescued. We absolutely love the breed, they are so intelligent and loving. A real part of the family 💓
You were so fortunate to have Jake in your life for so long. We lost our angel rescue Bella after 15 years and we miss her so. We adopted Clay our big boy one year old BC 4 months ago and he's doing his best to fill the hole in our hearts. He is such a goofball! We can't imagine life without a Border Collie.
I lost my Border Collie back in September, his name was Travis and he was so intelligent and annoying at the same time as he used his cuteness to manipulate everyone he met. Travis was family and there's a huge hole in our hearts but he had a great life and I admit, everyone spoiled him rotten. We're mourning his loss, but rest assured I'm getting another Border Collie who's going to be loved just as much.
hornetgags I'm so sorry I wish that would never happen to pets because I've lost so many it's unbelievable I lost 3 rabbits and 6 fish and I don't want my dog to go ever.
I lost my Collie Lucy 2/1/2016 and I am reminded of the absolute joy she brought us by watch these amazing puppies. I know she went to God but I am devastated.
God helped us out We just bought a 13 week old Scottish Collie named Abby. Lucy will never be forgotten but the new little girl is healing a broken heart
I had 2 Border Collies, mother and son, both died of old age. Beautiful ,intelligent ,amazing dogs. Then lost my old lab cross last year, wasnt going to have another dog....ever.....but right this minute I have an adorable 6 week old Border Collie fast asleep at my feet :) It had to happen lol Hes learning fast and already responding to clicker training, teeth like needles and often to be found hanging onto the leg of my pjs :) So happy to have him,his name is Cruachan and hes a wee star :)
Just lost my Border Collie Fly, she was 14 yrs and went too young, I visit her grave everyday, so much pain, such an indescribable loss. Thank You for this wonderful video!
Indeed, the loss. Why does a sea turtle live to be 200 and my sweet Nahla, her life cut short by aggressive lymphoma. Not even 5 yet. Such a tragic end to man's best friend.
sweet sweet puppies and a gorgeous momma. I lost my border, Brodi, after 16 years of unconditional love and solid protection of my children. She was our "family dog". My kids (now in their early 20"s) grew up with her and what a time we had. There will NEVER be a replacement for her. ENJOY those babies and momma each and every day. They are the smartest dogs in the country according to the AKC, and I BELIEVE THAT WHOLE HEARTEDLY. thanks for sharing this video, the memories were awesome
This mom and her tots are so precious and cute! She's actually caressing them with her whole mouth. She's crazy about her babies. She knows they're cute!
A lot of folks don't know what they're missing. Dogs are truly gifts from God. They bring us such unconditional love and happiness. Love my Shelties as family and best friends. Beautiful Border Cillies, one of my favorite breeds.
Love the Border Collies the most. Did not register mine with the AKC because they demand certain standards-like docking tails and cropping ears for show purposes-even when your dog is not a show dog. They want to change your breed's original standards. I stuck with the NASDS and ABCCA instead. I know owners of Aussie's who were told that to register their dogs with them they had to dock their tails. Many have short stubby tails like the Pembroke Corgis, but that's after docking tbeir tails for so long.I'm glad my niece and nephew didn't dock and crop their G.D. Thor. and dock a neighbour's Welsh Cardigan Corgi's tail! The white-tipped tail serves as a flag for sheep-and cow-farmers my BC's former owner, a farmer/her who trained his dogs to herd sheep and cows.
I love the way the momma is teaching her babies to play gently. She's obviously having just as much fun as they are. At this age many mothers are tired of their babys and just want to get away from them. I guess that just shows the amount of energy Border Collies have.
This amazing I have a 13 week old collie and I have already fallen in love with the breed. These are the most intelligent breed of dogs and I love them so much. I'm proud to own a collie named Sophie. 💕
Loved my Nahla.. she was abandoned to a friend of ours and by God's grace I had been looking for a young purebred. She was not quite 1 year old when we got her. At first we thought she might be too much for us, but she was just right. Our sweet Nahla... Her life cut short from aggressive lymphoma, not even 5 years old yet. Looked much like the mom in this video. I'm gonna miss her.
I'm glad they're rescues. I was lucky to get my first Aussie/BC mix at a small pet store in Chamblee that sold rescues for a small price. They were not allowed to sell puppy milk or expensive pups like Petland does and I wasn't familiar with adopting a dog at Pet smart yet. I bought her, went to my college class, and returned for her before the store closed. Walking home with her, I tried to come up with a name. My dad didn't want another dog as we'd already lost Bootsie, Smokey, Tiny, Gerda, and Matthew. None were my dogs. I decided to go upstairs and watch a "Star Trek" rerun. I was crying as I was not going to return her. This little 6 week old girl gave me little kisses and cheeed me up and since the episode was about an empath named Gem, that's what I decided to name her. My dad and mother thought I was going to name her Jim-like Spock did. I quoted Dr. McCoy, " I'm not going to call her ' hey you' and spelt her name. Over time, he learned to love her and when I transferred to BFF, he'd wait for me while I went to register and pay for my classes and walk her around the student centre. One day, he said he talked to a John Owen (The Pres.of the college then) who said I'd dropped a pan of tostitoes in the Chow Hall line and stepped out of my boot into a snowy step going up the Price Memorial steps to get my pay check. He said he also met one of my art teachers, a Bob Owens who told everyone he met my dad and dog on a walk. I think my face must've turned red, but I'm glad their meeting was productive since my art teacher was also a dog lover and had 2 GSDs-Gerda was one-and my art ed./weaving teacher, Tommy Scanlon also had a GSD named Weben, German to weave. My Gem lived 13 years l, past my dad's death in '84. I miss her, but knew she wouldn't mind if I got another dog, a pure BC, who let me know what her name was not going to be in '92.
We had our first and only litter of border collie pups - they are truly a gift from God. From their birth until they went to their forever homes we were absolutely mesmerized by them. Thanking God every day that all eight of our pups when to loving homes. To all dog owners, you know what unconditional love is.
I had puppies like that and we loved them so much we still have them...7 dogs...I sure learned a lot! They are smarter than I am!...People said I was crazy, but soon after my husband became disabled and the dogs give him endless entertainment and things to do. Never let people call you crazy...follow your heart. If you ever do this learn how to break up fights safely and most of all, prevent them. This isn't all fun & games. This is made with such love and skill. The mother is gorgeous...
This is a very joyful video, one I watch a few times a week. The love the owner extends to the mama dog is very telling too. I'm on my 5th BC, they are the BEST in the world,-though that intelligence & energy take a big commitment; more so than 99% of any other dog breeds. Thanks so much for this precious video!
We just got a border collie puppy today just under 2 months old...She is the most adorable pup ever...had to watch this video...just want to hug them all...
Border Collies are the most intelligent, loving, loyal, magical companions you will ever have in your life, but remember they are a working dog and need to be occupied all the time.If not they will soon get bored and unhappy. If you are lucky enough to have a collie in your house-hold,then long walks, lots of play and attention are an essential part for the mind and spirit for your new found companion. In doing so,you will not find a better friend in all your lifetime than one of these amazing animals.
I have a pet Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix who is about 3 years old. He is the most playful and loving dog i have ever met. I love him to the moon and back and i don't know what I will do when he passes.
That makes two if us Katelyn... My BooBoo just had his 14th, I thank God every night for giving me another day with my precious Boy!!! He is still doing well, but i know his time is getting short...brings tears to my eyes as i write this.... Love them every day, as we never know when that last one comes....❤❤❤
I too had an Aussie/BC mix named Gem. She lived from '79-'92 and was my first dog. She was very empathic and would go to whoever was sad and try to cheer up anyone who was sad or unsettled for some reason. She was often successful, especially with me, my parents, and my niece. When she died, I was so saddened. I happened to get in touch with a farmer/vet who's BC bitch just had pups and went to see him-with help from a college friend. I chose a 6 wk.olf pup and was going to name her T'Ami but she hated the name, so I named her Tess Siobhan. She lived 16.2 yrs! Her son, JackBNimble, lived 15.8 yrs.and he had a girlfriend, LittleBoPeep, and her cousin, Gypsy Rose Lee, live with me as well. All smart dogs these sheepdogs and now they're all gone. I hope to get another BC girl- or boy-soon.
It's very difficult. On Easter Sunday, my Australian Shepherd named Nikki passed away at 15 years old. A day has not gone by that I've not cried my eyes out. I miss her so much. I hope your doggie is doing well. The hardest part of loving a dog or cat is when they pass away, but the hard part is worth all the good parts, just love them always and treat them with compassion.
Those tiny guys are so FRICKIN CUTE🤩 Absolutely the best breed in the world!! Mama is very engaged with her babies… she’s having fun. She’ll teach her little ones in all the ways of being TOP DOGS✨🫶🏼🐕✨
My border collie is lying at my feet as I watch this. She was 5 weeks when I picked her out. They are just irresistibly cute at that age! The mama looks like she really enjoyed them.
I agree with you they are the cutest puppies. I have just had the pleasure of watching this video with my 7 week old border collie puppy Shilo. He really loved the video too. it was beautifully shot and made.
I have had 4 border collie dog in my life they were the best and most loyal dogs I have ever had and I fell in love with those beautiful puppies. Thank you for sharing
border collies are the best dogs in the world I never get tired of watching them, I wish I had a female for my male so they could have some beautiful pups together and I would keep all of them
They are the cutest babies. My Tess was a cutie and had beautiful pups-3 litters; Bo Peep and Tess's son had 6 and so did my Gypsy Rose Lee-with JackBNimble (Tess's son)-6. I miss them all. When they pass on, you wait a bit and start over again. The mama with the wide blaze reminds me of JackBNimble. Gypsy Rose Lee was red/white with a right blue eye and left brown eye and 1/2 pricked ears. She and Bo Peep each had 4 girls and 2 boys-all bl/w.
AMEN TO THAT.... E-V-E-R!!!! My BooBoo turned 14 on the 31st of August, 2019, and still doing well!! He literally is my life!! And he really is the BEST DOG EVER!!!❤❤❤❤
I did this...see above. No boot camp or monastery could instill the self control and command it brought out of me...a grandmother of 66! I'm far from the same minnie-mouse lady...maybe God did it! These dogs need the command of a Naval officer and lots of affection plus exercise. They are so smart and lovely!
So precious! Love watching the mother bask in loving her puppies. She seems in awe looking at them as if she's so proud & happy. Thank you. I love them❤
They are so soft, especially in the neck and ears... And at 1 their energy level in the morning is off the charts.... Look it's a torpedo with fur on it....
my border (halloween) is 6 now and her "kiddo" is 2 (his name is ghost) but they still play like mum & pup! and she still teaches him! They're so cute, a whole bunch of fluffy love!
The smartest dog I ever saw was a border collie, Mike, who belonged to my granddad. Grandpa has a bad leg that he could only limp on, so Mike was both companion and long arm of granddad. Herding sheep would have been impossible without Mike. He could move several hundred at a time and knew exactly how to put them in the pens, or the oat field and pasture. A whistle from granddad and Mike was on the move.
Nice puppys their. I just got a puppy Joey he is a good pet border Collie. Thanks have a nice day. Like this breed of dog so great had a few of them now.
Aw this is so cute , we have a border collie our self she has the short fur though and she had 9 pups , i wanted keep them all :( Long haired collies are gawgus! , Cute video!
I seem to remember there is a clip on here showing a border collie remembering over 140 names for toys. When they buy a new toy they give it a name and the dog works out that as its a name he has not herd before it must be the toy he has never seen before.
