Happy Reviewer My Gypsy-a r/w BC-is so smart, she wakes me up and herds me to the bathroom because she knows I have to go. She also knows when my sugar is too low or high and herds me to my meter (where I keep in the bathroom) if It's too high or the kitchen if It's too low. My former BC, Tessie, taught her this in the last 4 years they had together as BFF before Tessie died at 16 yrs.
Poke Girl Yes. Type2 since '95. I take Insulin and watch my diet. I can't take Metaphormin according to my dr.'s instructions. Sadie looks like my Little Bo Peep when she was younger. I only have Gypsy Rose Lee left and she's 14.7 yrs.old. she's my red/white BC.
I can watch this sound of border collie whole my life till i doe without even getting bored for a second....😢😢dogs and cats and birds and goats and cows and pigs and horses are so cute . We should never harm them ever...😢😢
Thanks everyone. Sadie is a true gift from above. We just love her so much...she helped us heal when we lost our senior Border Collie. Once you get hooked on a breed...you are hooked for life. Love all dogs but the Border Collie is the one we cannot live without. :)
Border Collies are so awesome. When I lived my aunt and Uncle they had a border collie named Lila. She was the smartest dog I ever had. I live with a maltese now that thinks shes a pitbull.
What a beautiful soul she is! I have a Golden/Border Collie mix and he is very expressive like Sadie is(Just a little less vocal). Love the video and love Sadie!! :)
So sorry for your loss. It is great that you will adopt again soon...your Border Collie is smiling from heaven to know your love will continue to be shared with another wonderful dog. Love is never broken; not even by death.
I’ve had many different dogs in my life and any breed of dog is better than no dog at all. They all have redeeming qualities but their is something extra special about Border Collies
They are the Ferrari of the dog world, bred to understand humans better than any other breed. I remember taking my first collie to a puppy training class. The instructor told everyone to let the puppies off the lead and just watch them. Ours was the only dog who ignored the other puppies and went up to each and every human to say hello.
Brown dog is Sadie's friend Kaila. She looks like a deer and acts like one. She is much more like prey than predator! LOL! Very sweet dog. She is a rescue as well.
Is Kaila a Greyhound or Whippet? And why is she wearing a bib? Who's the 3rd fog on the sofa? Thought about getting a Whippet and naming him Devo ( "Whip It Good"), but I prefer Border Collies and would never whip one anyway. I have 2 Border Collie girls and Sadie looks like Little Bo Peep when she was younger.
That is so amazing. I had a BC with the exact same mannerism. Cancer took her after 16 great years. You can see the intelligence in those eyes, unlike any breed I know. You are very lucky to her her.
+craig79792000 . Sorry for your loss, we lost our first BC to Lymphoma. In Dog years 16 is long; but never long enough. Love is Forever! After our first BC rescue back in 1998, we have been hooked since. We will always rescue Border Collies and have them in our family. Beautiful creatures. I believe all the dogs I've ever loved will be waiting for me in Heaven. God loves us too much and made dogs for us, for me to believe otherwise. Until we meet again!
Dogs are People Too I keep checking the shelter for another BC or even a mix that reminds me of her, but she was truly an original. I want to adopt them all, but I want to stay married too, delicate balance. I will find another someday. I like to think I will see her again too, I know she had a great life and was loved and pampered and went peacefully. It still makes me cry like a baby to think about her though.
Where on earth do you find any kind of Collie that needs rescuing? They always seem to take care of that themselves. I like the big American Collie. They are extremely devoted to their people.
Daniel Coakley Rescue in this sense means saved from an animal shelter. If no one adopts them in a certain amount of time, they are put down. There are a lot of "no kill" shelters but they are far outnumbered by the other kind.
Border Collies are wonderful! They just need special games and exercises to stimulate their brain. Otherwise they SUFFER. There is a great guide full of brain games just for dogs - to turn your dog into a GENIUS: PLUS.GOOGLE.COM/115233896029381835104/posts/ib81F27YAJt
And u made me cry because we have a border collie and he is 11 yrs old nw and we can see n tht he is getting really old ,,, I feel for u ,, ur dog is a little angel in a heaven looking down on u
Sorry for your loss. we Had two BCs. One was 13 and the other was 12 when when we lost them three years ago. We spent the last 5 year of one of our dogs lives caring for his diabetes condition. It was a small price to pay for all the joy that we got in return. BCs are the most loving dogs in the world! Time is the only thing that helps after you lose a family member like that. Finally after 3 years we were able to think about looking at dogs again. We ended up going to a herding dog rescue home to look for a BC. We ended up coming home with three.
yeah, my doberman is not patient he expects his payment on time 12pm exactly and he will let you know about it, when i say payment or salary i'm talking about his food.
THE most intelligent, caring, loving breed. I miss my Thomas and Digga...but it makes me smile to watch videos like this to remind me of eager they are to please and how easy they are to love. Thankyou
I have a border collie too. smartest dogs ever. I swear she acts so human. she's up there in years 13 in fact. I can tell she's slowing down. it really saddens me.
Mine died when he was 15 and I grew up with him he was there when I was born and grew up with him. He died when my family was living in Korea and we couldn’t take him with us so we had to leave him at my grandmas. We knew he was going to die because of all his health and physical problems but I couldn’t stop mourning over it
My Tess lived to be 16 yrs, 2 months, her son 15.8 yrs. and my Gypsy Rose Lee 14.8 yrs. Bo Peep was a month short of 14 when she died and my Gem-my first BC mix was also 13 yrs.old when she died.
Edge Lord My Gypsy hates the video-ignores it now. Don't. Know why, but Sadie looks and sounds like Bo Peep, her BFF. Gypsy is a red/ white Border Collie. Is the dog with the big a Greyhound or Whippet? (One of my friends had a Greyhound-she and her husband rescued the racing hounds and adopted 2 when they died, this widow adopted a Whippet-Percy.) Why does he or she have on a bib? And Who's the other BC.?
A mule can hear another mule up to 60 miles away. It would depend on whether the mule was standing in a desert, or in a parking lot just before Black Friday. Animals have far superior hearing compared to us from my observations. Their ability to hear extends into the 20,000 cycle per second range at least, while ours tops out about 14,000 I think. My numbers might be in error but the message isn't. There is a vast world beyond our senses that most of us are unaware of and rarely (if ever) think about. Some animals are in touch with it , giving them tremendous advantage over us. Why can't the US military take off and land like dragon fly? Which is the better aviator? How do sharks swim all the way around the world and go to specific place they've been before, without road signs and GPS? 60 million years they've been doing this. WTF were we?
My border collie died four years ago, and I still miss her so much. I don't think that pain will ever go away. They make the best friends. Their emotional intelligence is second to none. ♥️ Enjoy your special baby!
She's perrrrrfect, an now uncle Mark can hear her talking Lol. Makes me happy to see people love their animals and treat them like family members, because that's what they are.
Both dogs are so adorable. I have a shepherd/collie mix and he does almost the same thing. Doesn't talk as much as Sadie but still amusing and cute! Love it!
That was hilarious! She was like if you dont get up off your ass and feed me! I love her! I also have a border collie and she is so smart! Your dog is beautiful 😀
I saw your video and I just love Sadie! We had a Beagle/ Border Collie mix growing up, and she seemed to have the best traits of both of the breeds. Smart, a little mischievous, but the sweetest doggy you could ever imagine. She looked much more like a Border Collie than a Beagle. Debby was the doggy of my childhood and she lived to the ripe old age of 15! She did have the Beagle's tendency to love to roam, and the cleverness of an accomplished escape artist in spite of a very comfortable and loving home and a securely fenced back yard! Debby delighted us kids with a surprise litter of pups to enjoy and frolic with after a brief escape once. After that, my folks had her spayed. She was such a sweet and fun dog that everyone wanted a pup from her, so they all went to good homes. She died after I graduated from college and had left home. She was my mom's solace for the "empty nest" syndrome after my brother and I went off to school. - JF
Love them, lost my boy Shep in January oral cancer he was 14yrs, opperated once but it came back, miss him so much. Our boy Nicky before that died age 12yrs, they really are so intelligent and loving, broke our hearts and the grandchildren they all grew up with them.
I love this, Sadie is Gorgeous! We have a border collie and labrador cross called Roobarb and she loves to talk and always has lots to say. I love bc's they are so beautiful and intelligent. Thanks for uploading :-)
I can relate to Elori Scott. It will be a year this June that my border collie/sheltie passed and I miss him so much. This video reminded me why I love the breed so much.
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened. ” - Anatole France. Even death cannot separate us from those we love...until you meet again, may you feel peace and joy in those memories of treasured moments with your forever friend..
She reminds me of Little Bo Peep. She passed away just before Easter last year at age 13.11 yrs. Her BFF/cousin, Gypsy Rose Lee, passed away at age 14.8 yrs just after Thanksgiving. I miss both.
I have know idea what your dog was saying but I guess our boarder collie did. He was asleep in the other room then came out and started looking on my computer. I light growl and a bark with his head turning side to side. To cute....
Don Williams I used to have a Border Collie mix that when my mother's Gibson refrigerator used to make these barking sounds, she'd bark back at it. If the doorbell rang or someone knocked, Gem wouldn't let them answer it if not fully dressed. We guessed that she has her own moral standards. She was also very empathic-like the empath Gem on 'Star Trek".
What a beautiful dog. Dogs are so intelligent and when they are in a loving home their best mannerisms come out because they are so happy. Our dog Maxx was put to sleep last year and we miss him so much. He brought us so much joy and happiness. The exercise was good too. Border Collies are the most intelligent of all the dog race and if adopted into the right home, their intelligence knows no bounds. You seem to have lots of other dogs, you're so lucky. Thankyou for uploading this.
Moxie Border Collie Talk back to her and to her. Encourage her as much as possible. Border Collies who are raised with those who are no-nonsense, humorless types aren't quite as friendly as those with outgoing types who talk to their dogs and play with them.
Sadie added her Talking Video - Part 2 last week. She talks about seeing squirrels at the park and taking a boat ride. Search "The Talking Border Collie, Sadie Part 2. Enjoy!
