In 4.0, when we get MM revisions, the C1 needs to differentiate from the Cutty and Freelancer with more straight line speed and a touch more agility. Why? Because it has no turreted defence capability.
I have the c1 as my pledge. Amazing ship I love how it looks I love the interior and am so excited for when the functionally works inside like the armor racks gun racks and kitchen hahaha
Using the speed, shields, and weapons to escape a sticky situation will be taken away with Master Modes, unfortunately. That being said, I prefer the C1 over the Cutty and Freelancer. It's been my (mostly) daily driver.
@@thelitchfieldexperiment6269 Yep, C1 and A1 are in game. It's the E1 (passenger transport) that still is not. And since CIG hasn't spoken a word about the transporting profession, I doubt we'll see it for a long time.
So far, I've not engaged in PVP in 3.23, but in a few PVE encounters, I was easily able to disengage from enemies in Nav mode. The Ship took some hits once the shields dropped, but the hull held out long enough to put some distance between us before I made the altitude to jump. I'm going to do some more trials, but so far, it hasn't been disastrous.
If you hit boost while switching to NAV mode you won't lose any speed, I've tried it. I wanted to see how well it worked when I learned it from a Redditer. I took it a step further. I set my trim first then switch to NAV, then hit boost. You won't be caught and will take very little damage if any.
I have noticed also that entering QT at a particular speed would result in me exiting QT at that same speed and 'coasting' even without Cruise Control on (I also fly coupled so I found that interesting). I wonder if this is intended or just an EPTU thing.
I'm just starting Star Citizen and the C1 Spirit is my 2nd ship after the Avenger Titan. I got this over the Cutlass Black purely on looks. And idk I like the look of it over the Zeus, it's sexier. Even with the one entrance in the rear is fine by me, that's how I like it anyway lol. And since I don't have a large crew and no need for more storage, I'll probably keep the C1 for a while.
For me, it is as simple as: C1 is for solo, Cutlass is for when playing with a friend. Waiting to see the Zeus. C1 is my package ship right now and I love it, but will possibly upgrade to that during invictus or whenever it drops. Would also change to a Taurus potentially if it got a gold pass/update. Love that ship and it is perfect for my preferred gameplay currently, even solo.
That's fair. I do wish it would lock similarly to external doors though, reducing the likelihood of stowaways should you leave the ramp down and turn your back 😂
I mean they artificially limited what land vehicles you can fit in the ship with really pointless door frames, I flew mine for about a week before I upgraded to the taurus
Usually I´m looking for the smallest ship to fullfill a given task. That generally excludes Crusader ships, because they are in almost all cases wider in size than their counterparts. But what makes the C1 a real nogo for me is the small number of MFDs, with Freelancer having double and Cuttie even three times the number of MFDs.
I wanted a ship this size for a while, but refused to buy the Cutlass like everyone else. As soon as the Spirit dropped, I jumped on it. It's a great ship, and it my daily now. My only gripe is the single entry point in the back (would love direct cockpit access like the Titan).
I feel like the C1 is an easy-mode money grab for CIG. Modular ships are a big L so sales on something like a 'tali in the now-times are impossible so... "Ey we made a bomber, and look we also got a cargo version ey"
If they ever make a medical variant of this Spirit series I would drop my wallet on it instantly. I love having access to a medical bed, can't run bunkers or merc missions on distro centers without my trusty C8R. A medical bed would be amazing on this beauty of a ship
The C1 flies great and it has a respectable cargo grid. But it has a huge landing footprint, which negatively impacts it's utility outside of just hauling cargo. I'll stick with my Cutty.
I have a Spirit since concept, and also a CCU to the A1and the E1. I'm waiting for the Zeus and then decide about what to do, but the CL seems really juicy. The Spirit to me is bloated: too large for what it does when it comes to footprint, too many doors in a one floor hull and the landing gear is too low on the ground. It also commits the same deadly sin of the MSR and the Carrack: it lacks a secondary entrance for getting just people in and out. the C1 is probably a goner in my fleet, as I never felt anything for this ship, same as for the MSR: I own them to CCU to something else. I think the pinnacle when it comes to ship design, the "Just Right", was reached with the Constellation and the Freelancer: too bad these ships have grow obsolete, with broken metrics and we will probably never see a proper retooling (F-7C => F-C MkII): why fix the ship we already bought when they can sell us new ones?
I'm a big fan of the Constellation (Taurus is best, I'll not be taking further questions) So I'm hoping the Zeus captures that same level of Chefs Kiss but with the Gold Plated Level of newer ships
We have vastly different ideas about the word "spacious" my friend :) My daily drivers are a Freelancer Max and a Vulture in solo mode so take that as you will. I also got the C1 loaner via the Zeus CL and I haven't been impressed. Yea it flies a bit faster and smother than the MAX but it's not a money making work horse by any means. Hopefully the Zeus impresses more.
@@BeardofOz Jokes aside, it's a fantastically detailed ship. Aesthetically, probably one of the most pleasing ships in game, imo. I have no doubt those who own it are very happy with it.
Nope the C1 is to much empty space and makes landing a pain both hangers and planetside since there is almost never flat enough ground to allow it to land with out been uneven or damage the ramp when you lower it or even leave it to high in the air to get back in if not careful. The Zeus is going to be the real killer of the Cutlass and the C1 since its about the same size as the Cutlass and the cargo hold is just so much bigger.
Cutlass killer? Even though CIG said the C1 was a Cutlass competitor, it’s really not. The Cutlass is a multi-crew ship that is combat oriented, while the C1 is a solo ship that is cargo oriented. Yeah it has a tractor beam turret, but no one needs a second person for that. You’d use one or the other depending on what you’re doing. That’s not really a competition imo.
It is supposed to handle much slower, so if you need maneuverability, the Zues may not fit the need. We will see of course. I have the C1 and love it...and I have Zues ES coming to more fit an explorer role.
@Halla29Gaming Oh that's the directions distribution of the shield. Each side gets worn down under fire. When I say 2 shield generators that's the components that create the total HP of the shields.
