This video not only demonstrates how to cut patio pavers using a diamond blade but specifically how to cut a ROUND HOLE in patio pavers. Traditionally this is done with a hole saw but then you're locked into that size hole saw. This video demonstrates the technique necessary to cut a round hole in a patio paver using a diamond blade on an angle grinder!

I totally did this with my flagstone path. My wife said stop it it doesn't look natural enough, the plants won't fit, but it worked!

Good to know that you figured out how to do this in the middle of the paver. Looks like it took a while. If I ever have to do this and taking it to the company that does test cores for engineering is not in the budget, I would move the traps just a little bit to intersecting corners. Four straight cuts to the intersecting points of the edge of the pavers and the scribed circle. Cut them with a hammer and rock chisel. Then cut the vertical with the grinder top to bottom as deep as the blade will allow with a safety guard still on the tool. Quicker, easy easier, safer. If the DIYer has little or no experience with handling a 4 1/2" grinder and is only fair with eye-hand coordination then you will definitely not want try this. Do not try this at home. That is what Workmans Comp is for.😂
