Trying to explain this to my 18yr old son cuz he admires my dishes and wants to cook for his new girlfriend. It was difficult for him to grasp my explaining of cutting of a steak/etc. Jumped online, pulled this up and he totally heard you. In 5 steak cooking trials this week he's been perfect. Thx for the everyday person explication. Especially the straws example. GENIUS! Subscribed!

Kelsey Leigh I don't know if you really understand what he's saying, but he's not trying to force his views on others. He's using an allusion , which is a literary device, and making a reference to god doing miracles (doesn't necessarily mean he's a Christian). His comment about how he's thankful to Cooking with Rye, because he's doing a miracle.

This was a great informational video. I assumed what "against the grain" was but never realised how much of a difference it made for meals when I heard it in recipes. Especially even AFTER being cooked. I rarely paid any attention to this! Thank you very much, it's detailed, and intricately informative while being short and to the point. Definitely will be paying closer attention when making, AND eating now, especially with tougher cheaper cuts of meat such as top sirloin. Also I am not much of a commenter or subscriber for anything EVER! However I find great smaller RU-vidrs who make great videos like you have here, deserve to be heard with praise. Kinda like supporting those local small businesses that are great and you love. :)
