Thanks for watching, its taken a while to get the tools, but I'm getting there. really happy with the 261, its small but heaps of power. I've just subscribed to your channel, look forward to seeing some more videos. Where in the UK are you ? I'm originally from Hull, now living in Melbourne

@@TheRuralProject Hi buddy! I’m set up south west of England. Hampshire/Dorset area. Just outside of Bournemouth. Lovey area to live. Plenty of work and opportunity around here.

yep, they are a great versatile saw, and light weight. I think they are the perfect all-round saw. I love the grunt of the bigger saws but they get hard work if you use them all day, so I'm really happy to swap back to the 261 when I can.

Nice work mate, is that mostly stringy bark and how much did the splitter set you back all together, I just bought a non portable industrial homemade splitter but it is run off a massive electric motor and I’m wanting something portable on a trailer.

Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, I cut a lot of stringy. I think it’s great wood for the fire. I do also have some yellow box, peppermint and grey box, plus a bit of red gum. The log splitter is a miller’s fall black diamond 50t. It cost me $2600 Australian.

Great video. I'm up in the Dandenongs on 13 Acers I have the same Log Splitter. How do you find it? You use the log lift the same way I do with the smaller stuff leave it up and use it as a table and lift the big stuff. Looks like you have a great property.

Hi, thanks for watching. Dandenong’s, beautiful area. I love the log splitter. It’s had lots of use and still going strong. The table is a back saver for the really big stuff and then useful as a loading table. I bent the table very early on and had to strengthen it but not had an issue since. Keep watching.

Did you get hit hard from the storms the other week ? I see the Arborists have been very busy near you.

@@TheRuralProject We were very lucky. The power was out for 1 day and we only had one tree down on the property.

Nice video! Looks hot over there! Did you fabricate the log lift on your splitter yourself?

Thanks for watching the video and the positive comment. We do have our very hot days in summer, I don’t usually wood split this time of year, but COVID restrictions slowed me down over winter, firewood sales went through the roof and I sold out last winter, so working hard to build the stores up again. The splitter comes with the log lift but I’ve had to strengthen it a bit. Keep up the great videos.
