I’m on day 15 no wine that’s massive for me It all started from a panic attack 3 weeks ago I’ve been and in a bad place questioning everything etc Got a counsellor appointment tomorrow upped my meds Fighting with your head is just horrendous
I stopped drinking because I used drink to stop emotional pain I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to drink again as the blackouts were getting bad and the stupid stuff while pissed we’re getting worse ..
Nice one man! I can relate been drinking most days for last 15 years. I’m on day 2 zero alcohol and day 2 Sertraline and feeling positive about it after finding your channel, also started to listen to the ‘alcohol experiment.’ Highly recommend it.
Hi David, sounds like you are making excellent choices! Let me know if you need any help staying off the booze. I had a couple of slip ups early on but it's incredible how my body/brain doesn't see any appeal in alcohol anymore. Christmas season is approaching and goodness knows there are loads of reasons to drink right now so this would be my real zone of vulnerability - but I am just not drawn to it anymore. Sobriety and a new med can be a challenging combo so don't be too hard on yourself if you find it hard.

Brill vid mate. Iv always had a toxic relationship with alcohol too be it out with friends or when the family have gone to bed. Iv decided to change things too after having 2 bottles of red wine n some beers sat alone n feeling low n knackered the next day as per usual. I'll try this next time. I think you're very right about the ritual of drinking n that its probably not the alcohol giving us what we are wanting from the action 👍
Man, I honestly used to laugh when I saw people drinking/buying alcohol free booze. But a glass of Orange Juice doesn't ignite the same part of my brain as the "taste" of beer or rum. It would be great if you gave it a go and don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up. For me the unexpected bit was discovering I didn't crave drunkness anymore and could actually enjoy a pint of alcoholic beer or a glass of red without feeling like I needed another. Good luck bro!

Hahahahhaa dang brother I laugh cus this is exactly why I stopped drinking aswell. To change my relationship with booze, I didn't want booze running me, I'm in charge not this MOTHERFUCKEN liquid hahaha. Cheers man, I know exactly why you picked up those non alcoholic beers. The nostalgia.
@@AlexRobbMentalHealth I'm actually sober. I went on a 7 month streak of no alcohol whatsoever. But I always had that curiosity of what if.... What if I have a drink an go back to my old drinking habits? It was eating me inside. So I took the plunge an drank 2 beers one Sunday night an that's it. Nothing more.. it felt good, I was able to stop at 2 an not want to get hammered. I then went on Zoloft, an have not drank anything since. So right now I'm going on 5 months sober. I'm actually enjoying being sober and do not miss the whole being buzzed or drunk madness hahaha. I'm getting to know myself in a more spiritual way. I have a long way to go, but I'm enjoying every bit of it. Getting in touch with everything we forget about where we are ,an what we are. Almost off Zoloft completely, an to be honest if I do have a drink again. I'm thinking it might just be with my family at a holiday gathering . But then again we do have Great choices of Non Alcoholic beers without the compromise. How are you doing ?
