Cutting Dies Apart Tips and Techniques Video - Technique Tuesday 

Excellent video! I was wanting to find something to take off the small pieces to some of my dies.

I place my dies between a dampened paper towel so when the small pieces go flying, they’ll stick to the towel and not onto the floor.

Just the video I was looking for...but in all of my husbands large rolling tool chest nothing in there that could get close enough to those nubs. Really didn't want to buy more tools...you know how that is..lol

Just the video I searched for. However though I just ordered a set of three of these micro nippers from Amazon and checked out a total of 5 different sellers of similar nippers every single one when asked the Q/A if they would work to clip apart the tabs that hold some die cuts together was told NO they are only for softer metal such as copper wire and aluminum and no steel which dies are made of. I ignored that and went ahead and ordered a set of three after I choose the ones with the least negative reviews about tips or blades of the nippers breaking off themselves and also sometimes arriving out of alignment where blades do not come together. So in the end these micro styled nippers is what I narrowed it down to and reason I bought a pack of 3 because if one breaks I have two spares handy. Now mind you I hope I do not need them but just in case. I noticed there were other vendors on Amazon selling bundles of 2,3,4, even 5 and some bundling a single nipper with other tools too. I just wanted a reliable nipper and yes I believe in breaking rules and coloring outside the lines and so concluded already before this video to go for it. Wire cutters and sheet metal cutters are way too fat bladed or thick to get into tight places between the dies and also too fat to get close to clip off right up against a die as demonstrated well in this video. SO thank you for this post and share today. Gave me a boost of confidence I had chosen wisely afterall. Even some dare devils need a boost of thumbs up and heads up now and again. Stay safe everyone and wear your goggles or safety eye wear with this task...they really do fly. (I borrowed a nipper from someone to just give it a try only their nipper wasn't able to clip off the small bit still attached which can snag your skin when you pick it up. (My major dies are itty ones like Poppy Stamp sells their whittles and tiny's as I use a lot of that size as punches not just making the die cuts to glue onto cards etc. but shaped holes into cover stock for tiny note books for one and earrings for another. Question: Do you happen to know why some manufacturers connect their dies (requiring us to cut off the nubbies) and others do not? Could all crafters get up a petition to manufacturers to not have the steel nub connections?
