I've always enjoyed your vids mate and that's bloody awesome that you're donating all your work/labour Dan. I would highly recommend buying aluminium wheel chair ramps for loading your mower. It only takes one errant move and you've hurt your back. Google them or search eBay. Also buy a speed feed trimmer head. You can reload in less than 20 seconds and you keep a spare length of cord in your pocket. Again awesome generosity Dan and good work as usual 👍

Thanks again Dan for all the good information on the Honda HRX217VKA lawn mower. I did buy one today, although I have to wait a month or two to use it. Milwaukee still has snow on lawns. I had dealership assemble it and they added oil. When I got it home, I added a little gas and started it to make sure it worked. I can't wait to start mowing my lawn. @@DansVlog, I forgot to mention Honda's new Hrx217vka. I thought I heard last Fall new model coming out and it must have been late Fall? Just a slight design for red cap, diamond shape almost and now come as a GCV200 engine instead of the GCV190 like you have. I know you said, actually a 186cc engine. I have no idea what the GCV200 is???

I wrap about thee or four bungee cords around the bottom of the mower handle. It acts as a handle, so grab those with one hand and the front of the mower with the other...easy. :)

Great Video Dan! I didn't grow up in a family who used blowers, rather we used brooms and rakes. When I got my Stihl Blower 15 years ago, I couldn't believe how much better it was than a broom. Just incredible. Honda mowers are really good machines. My HRM215 (with the GX engine) lasted 19 years. I am a homeowner and Mow from March to November every 3-5 days. My new mower is a HRC (I can't stand the auto choke on other machines) and it is a heavy mutha! Keep up the great work Dan!

Can you do a vid on how to property string a trimmer head. I started with the stihl head that came on my 90r. I swapped that one for a echo speed feed. Now im using a Badgerhead. I just ant get the others to feed out.

Great videos man! I recently picked up a Honda mower (HRR series), do you just stick with the OEM blades for your push mower? I'm getting a little tired of hammering and grinding that bottom blade back into shape after finding roots and rocks in the deep stuff.

You should never hammer a blade back straight. It won't be and your destroying your crank bearings and seals/bushings. Buy new. I link to them in my video descriptions

i have been in business for 7 years and me and my clients have an understanding i put them on a day and that is their day for the whole year so if they are cut on thursday for the first cut of the year thursday is the day they will be on i mow line trim edge and blow i don't pull weeds trim hedges clean gutters or do any tree work or spraying if they want cut earlier then the day they are scheduled for if i have room i may cut them they however will not go past the time period we agreed to if we agree to a weekly cut they will be weekly same with bi-weekly and if they want to go longer then what we agreed to i discontinue service and add a new client from a list of people that want me to take care of their lawn currently have 112 clients and business is great i may have a problem with a client once every year or two and one thing i never do is raise my price i have around 40 clients that are the same price they were 6 and 7 years ago

Hey dan, I don’t know if you have ever tried the edger gator blade version. I got a set for Father’s Day, I absolutely love them I think the line is a tad wider the edger stays clean. I’m just overly impressed can you do a review and confirm my findings. Here’s a deal if you don’t like them I’ll pay for them. Have you moved the spring on the governor that increases the RPM's yet? I put a mini tach on mine last night and it runs about 2750 RPM. I put moved the spring and sure enough the RPM came up to 3150. I'll probably moved it back since it's quieter and if the cut is good, then why run it higher and waste gas.

Why anyone would increase the RPM’s is beyond me. RPM’s don’t do anything except speed moving parts faster. It is the torque behind the motor that keeps the blade /blades spinning and cutting when the grass is tall, thick, wet or ground speed is fast. Unless for sure there is a problem, leave it alone!

Mr. Dan I got the honda hrx217vya. I had a toro. After cutting with the honda I ses in some places it was scalped. I know the honda is heavier than the toro. Would the honda stop doing that after a few cuts.

There yard is thin so it wasn’t looking nice and tight. Since she already asked me to lower my cut, I wanted to get a little more off the top. The front at 3 and the back at 2 1/2 makes for a 2 3/4 inch cut

Why don't you use that trailer. I have one just like it. And recently replaced it. That old thing has scrap on it now. But it worked great when I needed it, I fit a 36in and a push mower on it. And I was able to fit a 42 on it. But mine tilt not all of them do.

You should switch your trimmer head to the echo speed loader. I use echo but i know people can attach the echo head to the sthils

Dan I for one miss your daily blogs it's a shame that you're now too busy in your driving job but full time employment and earning decent wage over a side hustle has to take priority as stability is the name of the game and none of us are getting any younger. I would love to know if you're ever in danger of snake bites when cutting grass as you have shown one or two when you had the floods plus mentioned a lady's dog was bitten and died afterwards. After the divorce, I needed structure and discipline or I was going to crawl under a rock forever. Having this job gives me the structure and #SideHustle Mowing gives me my passion. Future is yet to be determined. Snakes are all over the South. CopperHeads and Rattlesnakes along with very deadly moccasins. Snakes like small varmints to eat. Small varmints like trash. Usually keeping your trash cleaned up and the yard mowed is the best defense

I know what you mean about needing structure and discipline after a break up as it's easy to go into depression after a marriage or relationship break up as I've also been ther myself. They say there's a fine line between happiness and sadness and how true that is. I was going to purchase the HRX217 until I noticed the length of the machine in the store. I’m sure it is an excellent mower, but it seemed to me that maneuverability would be an issue.

I don't know. Depends on the property, obstacles, thickness and height, bagging or mulching.I cut edge trim and blow 8-10K properties in an hour with my current set up

Its not uneven. It is actually recommended by manufacturers to mow a click higher in the front than the rear to help create airflow from front to rear for rear bagging.
