My brother just retired from a career in military.He left a box of uniforms with us when he moved. My husband just suggested that I make him a quilt. This is great! Thanks for your videos. I always love watching them.

What a fantastic idea for a wonderful reason. Please send a link for this event. I cut up a ton of my husband's clothes, and some of mine, and a lot from the second hand stores to make clothes for my girls. I was an expert at cutting them apart for width and grain of fabric (essential in apparel sewing). I got them through 3 seasons. Then I found a shirt they could wear, then found fabric to match. Everyone wanted to know what store they could find the line of clothing! I just smiled and said it was a small children's boutique, called My Sewing Room. A few asked me for the location!😂

Going to b an awesome Quilt , I made one for my SIL when he retired from Airforce after 20 yrs from all his old uniforms n included his patches fro various promotions. He loved it . 👍🥳🥳

Thank you so much for the tutorial, my son gave me some of his older ones to make a quilt out of . He still in army , planning career. And. Moving up in ranks so this helped a lot ! How would you laundry the uniforms before cutting .

What can I do with skipped stitches on my brother PQ1500 I’m frustrated ripping out stitches for 3 days 😠🙄. I’m using everything cotton n HLX5 90/14 needle 🪡 rethreaded n nada played w tension. Help Help 😩😩

Change your needle. Making sure it is inserted correctly and UP all the way. I once changed my needle 3 times before it finally quit skipping stitches.

Be careful sewing cammies for quilts! The metallic threads that run through the fabric killed my machine!! Can't tell you how many needles and rotary blades I went through! The quilt was made from my son's Marine uniforms and came out really nice., but I had to buy a new machine after. Good luck, Mark!!
