Love your channel. Went to a quilt retreat last week and met a retired veteran who had been deployed several times. I asked if she had seen your channel and she said that she has and found quilting to have the same effect on her ptsd as it did for you.
Hey you guys, I love this quilt. It brings back so many memories for me. So long ago I was a blue car motor spent a long time since I’ve heard that. I loved my time in the Marine Corps and have a lot of memories. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. Much love to The for babies, and sending big hugs and kisses to both you and your wife❤
I ABSOLUTELY love this quilt! As a Marine myself, that quilt has meaning. Have you ever considered donating a quilt to the Military Order of the Devil Dogs? We are a fraternal order who raise money for children's hospitals. In August we donated $86,000 to the children's Hospital in Daytona Beach during the Marine Corps League National Convention. I think a lot of Marines would bid big bucks for one of your quilts!
A little late in watching this series but thank you. I live with a Vietnam Veteran with PTSD, thank you Mark not only for your active service but how you reach out. Be Blessed an continue your out reach, it may not be for the veteran but the family member knows they are not alone. THANK YOU AN YOUR WIFE in your out reach.
What a wonderful quilt! Lost my brother in March 2022, he was in for 20 years. He would love this. God best you for making this quilt. May you have a wonderful life .
You’ve put your heart and soul into the making of this quilt. May you continue to be blessed. Thank you for your service, and thank you for sharing your creativity in quilting.
I love hearing about the meanings for your quilt names! Lol about how sadist you were as a drill Sargent. I remember going through boot camp and wondering how you guys could keep a straight face through some of stuff we did! Lol. Can’t wait to see the emblem on the quilt. It’s looking great. Keep up the great work. Also you should have a link for your sister-in-law.
What a precious quilt! I enjoyed hearing about your fabric sources and the marine lingo. My husband is retired army. He has asked for a "man" quilt - and after seeing this one and the churn dash one you made out of the utility uniforms, I believe that is what I will do for him. I have a few of his BDUs stored away from when he retired and I think I will dig those out and get it done. I may even use the pockets! I say that, because we have 3 cats and two dogs who love to cuddle with us on the couch, and he can put some treats in those pockets! LOL! Well anyway, I love what you do and I can't say how much I appreciate your inspiration! OH! And I love hearing your dogs in the background. They are beautiful dogs and I can tell, when you've showed them, that they are well loved and cared for!
DI Mark…Okay Marine! I just saw your interview with Karen Brown ‘Just Get it Don Quilts! I loved it! It was nice getting to know you better. I’ve been watching you and your wife for a long time. I’m also a retired Vet and a lifelong sewer and quilter. It has been such a pleasure watching you and your wife grow in the quilting world through your channel. I too am very interested in quilting for vets. I heard your idea to have ‘A Quilting Place for Veterans’- what a concept hun? Thanks for inspiring me! BTW your quilts are Fantastic! ‘Go Forth and Conquer’. God Bless you and your family! 🙏🏽🤗👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😀
WOW. I love your tutorials. You put your heart and soul into your quilts, you are an inspiration not just to ex armed forces, but also to someone like me who suffers with PTSD. I have only recently come across your channel, so glad I have. Heart felt wishes from your uk fan ❤
I love listening to the purpose to your "emotion" blocks/quilts. There's a reason for everything. Perfect example of "bringing order out of chaos". And the flange binding sounds like the perfect way to finish this quilt. I'm looking forward to the applique. Who knows, maybe I will finally give it a try again. Hey Yvonne 💓 I love watching (listening) to Tracy and Bill! She has such a soothing voice. Bill and I get to talking about playing piano...so sweet 💓😊
This is so great! Thanks for explaining the terms even if they are only important to Marines. The overall look of that quilt needs to have yardage made of its own! Cool 😎 💗. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but insurance is a really good idea for when it goes traveling 😀. Blessing you and your wife 🙏🕊🍁👍
Do you plan to document all the sources of fabric on the quilt label? I loved hearing you recount all the sources! Love the inspection for the quilt name, too.
Have you tried QAYG? I am also a scrappy quilter. I work in 10"-12" blocks - then assemble the quilt sandwich - quilt the manageable block - then attach the blocks together.
Thank you for your service and for sharing. The story behind the fabric is touching. I am curious, how did you design your applique? I liove it and would purchase a pattern.. Thanks again.
I believe i found it, remember you talking about Tracy. And your vacation. Ty . The quilt is coming along really nicely with all the patterns and era, really nice:-) My Air Force Sister and myself just finished one with 50 blocks each. 25 front and 25 different back's, depicting our AF life, teaching, cancer survival, family, and hobbies. Started it 10 years ago, just for something to do to stay in touch. It's been fun! Our quilt w sashing Looks great. Wonderful therapy also. God bless you two! Ty
