That unit wasn't too bad really. The ground was decent and the wood wasn't too big. There were just a couple of trees that had me nerved up. Having my wife doing the flagging really helps, I know I can count on her. Never the less, I'm always glad when a roadside project is done, with no problems! Glad you liked it, thanks for the comment!

I know what you mean! Always a good feeling when the last ones on the ground with no problems right? As these projects go this one wasn't too bad, just a couple real dicey stems. Kept me on my game. Have a good week out there

radio comm from flagger to operator is invaluable. wish we had good radios back in the day! Dangerous stuff especially without good comm!

That's for sure. Got to know what's going on. I am really fortunate that my wife likes to work with me too, flagging and fire watching when I need it. It's critical that I can count on the flagger paying attention, and she does an outstanding job! Thanks for the comment.

ok so that cutting is pretty ballsy ! Facing the road and with timber that size is always challenging. Great work ! As a fellow buncher operator i can see the boom movements reflect how we try to get that tree down and away from the road as quickly as possible. Have a great weekend !

Copy! I'm always glad when a section like this is on the ground without any hiccups! A few hours of cutting roadside/power lines is like a week of cutting. That big rough old twin maple was the one that really had me kinda nerved up, I had to cut the one closest to the line first and the last ones top leaned heavy over the line. You can't really trust maple to hold together either. It worked out though. I know what you mean, when I watch it that is what I see too, I'm racing the stems to the ground, away from the line and the road! I just started cutting on a new unit on a new Farm for us, got some footage on Friday, pretty stoked! Be safe out there.

Hey, right on, you're on vacation, right? We just took a week and went up to the Olympic Peninsula. It's important to take some time off! Have a great time on yours!
