In this video we are deconstructing a Bellroy Apex Slim Sleeve wallet. Huge fan of Bellroy and their wallet design aesthetics and was curious to see what was beneath the surface. The construction methods used in this type of wallet are pretty different from the type of hand stitched work we focus on so its nice to observe and learn. I knew there would be more than meets the eye but WOW, was not expecting all of that.

Liked the video and the deconstruction of wallets. I think it gives people the opportunity of learning new construction techniques, because there always a new way of solving problems.

The small handmade leather good operation is a tough one to crack. I think everyones prices should be at least 40% higher!

Very cool video. I own several Bellroy products. Even this Apex Slim [in black]. All of my Bellroy products hold up very very well. Amazing company that make amazing [maybe too expensive] goods, but worth it IMO.

Really great video. Is the leather actually any good? I've been trying to find info online but all Bellroy says is that the leather is ethically sourced from gold-rated tanneries. Would be interesting to hear a leatherworker's opinion since I have a few of their leather goods.

Not sure how the non stitched wallets would hold up. But I’ve had my hide and seek wallet for 7 years now. Could probably get another year to 2 out of it before the leather is really trashed

With how strong glues have gotten, I don't doubt it could be better than stitched wallets.

I agree. I think they would have to do something with the edges to make it look better. I was thinking rounding further and painting a uniform color.

The magnet might erase the info on the magnetic strip of the cards.

The one on my zip wallet surely demagnetized some of my cards! Bellroy says their engineers assured them the magnets weren’t strong enough. Well, maybe they should have research the market and realized that Japan still uses a bunch of magnetic strip cards

Well this is kinda a stupid video… you decided to tear up an high end expensive wallet for nothing just to know what it’s like inside and how it was constructed and made but in the end you still don’t remember 😂
