I'm using a 54" Signwarehouse Q54 (aka a GRAPHTEC 8600). Had this cutter for about 9-10 years now and it's been a solid piece of equipment. Appreciate the comment and for watching!
I bought 4 of them off ebay like 10 years ago as app tape holders. They don't sell them anymore and I can find them. I have a spare I'm going to send off to try to get remade. Will post a video with info if I get anywhere.
Glad you can show the process... question though. Why does some of your vinyl have holes along the edges? Just stumbled upon your channel a few days ago.
Welcome and thanks for subscribing James! For the older vinyl cutters (10-15 years old + ) they used to be sprocket driven instead of using the pinch rollers. You had the standard 15" wide and larger 30" wide, for some reason the vinyl manufactures still punch the holes for those older sprocket cutters but notice it's only 15" x 30" rolls. I have not seen a sprocket driven plotter in 8-9 years. Gerber and Ioline were 2 off the top of my head but it was was the norm 15 years ago.
@@TheSignGuy thought it might have been something like that. (Was thinking looked like for old dot matrix days of the printers) Thanks for clarifying. I have been buying 12" and 24" so I guess I would never noticed it.
In the past we used 2 external programs at different times, Shipworks and Trueship that ran on a dedicated PC. For postage, we have always used stamps.com from the start (1lb and less) and have UPS and FedEx accounts too for the bigger stuff. We would walk into the shop and the program would automatically download any orders from all of the platforms we sold on. Since we downsized we no longer need the external programs to keep the orders organized. The wife goes into Etsy and does them manually 1 by 1, might take her 15 minutes tops with 20 orders. I'm to old and not smart enough for an app based system, although I'm sure there are some good ones out there.
What is the name of the tool you used to laminate that sign. Looks like a scoop or the end of a small snow shovel. Did you make it or did you buy it? If you bought it, where can I get one and what is it called. I don't want to spend thousands on an electric laminator. The one you have seems pretty cool. And it's manual so less moving parts to break.

We used Quickbooks up until late 2019 we were with them for 8 years or so. When we downsized we just went with Paypal for invoicing because we no longer do face to face credit card transactions. We have an okay rate because we don't push much $$$ through them anymore.
I generally use the Briteline series from Grimco for app tape. It is a high tack paper app tape, been using it for years with no issues and so much cheaper over the RTape 4075.
@@KtuluLeaderRise Nope, I'm ECO- SOL MUTOH 1324X run of the mill 54" printer. I do love my Q54 cutter though, that thing is a work horse. Had it for about 8 years now and doubt I will ever sway from a graphtec if I ever have to get another one.
Great video, rule of thumb: You should blur out clients' home addresses on your label before sharing on RU-vid, unless you have your client's approval.
