Dr. Rosli introduced the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedure - a complex procedure in which diseased valves are replaced percutaneously. This procedure is suitable for elderly patients who may not be keen to undergo open heart surgery.
Dr. Choo spoke about the types of patients that our doctors see on a daily basis. High risk patients are elderly patients, those with multiple co-morbidities, multiple vessel blocks, those that suffer from frequent heart attacks and patients who have kidney failure.
