20 years of driving I’ve never left car running while putting gas lol. There’s signs for it to not do that
@DM72513

I can't imagine complaining about having to turn your car off to pump gas. You should be doing that.
@premiumoctane93
@premiumoctane93 Год назад
Well I counted 4 other people yesterday that were pumping gas with the car running so even know it may not be the “right” way to pump gas it is a common thing. Hybrids and pressurized gas tanks are not popular in my book.
@premiumoctane93

I feel that most of the people that say you should not be refueling with car running dont live where it is -20F in the winter. I know it is not the "proper" method but still it is way more common than you think.@@Mike-pb7jm

Those signs are put there by lawyers, not engineers. There's no real risk. I say this as an engineer and a gear head.

If it's either too cold or too hot outside to leave the car on while fueling, how long does it take you to fill your tank? Two hours? Do you leave your doors and windows open that in four minutes all the heat/cold escapes? To each its own, but you got the cx90 phev, so you win. Nicest car!

You need to put the wipers on service mode. Then they come up a bit and you can lift them - refer to user manual. The gas stations forbid you from running the car while fueling the car. I know that written comments sound tone death, I do not mean to criticize anyone, just sharing some thoughts. I appreciate this channel as there is far and few info about PHEV CX-90 from owner’s point of view. Likely the gas tank is under pressure - so that it can be precisely injected as needed with stop/start of the engine? That is my theory.
@premiumoctane93
@premiumoctane93 Год назад
Good to know about the service mode for wipers but still an extra pain that should be unnecessary. It may be “forbidden” but how many people leave the car running ?? I suspect a lot more than you would think.

Gas refuelling with running engine is not allowed. The reason that it takes a few seconds to be ready to refuel is to switch valves on the EVAP system so gas vapoursdo not go into the atmosphere.

The active lane assist did work, you decided not to indicate when changing lane. If you had fallen asleep while driving it may have well saved your life.
@David_Journey
@David_Journey Год назад
I don’t understand why you need to abandon prudent driving practices just because you are on a road trip. Someone is in your blind spot, you happen to not see the blind spot warning and decide to change lane without indicating… bang, the road trip is ruined… People who change lanes with no indication *ahead* of moving lanes are by pet peeve.

You have to turn the car off to pump gas… but you can still have the accessory mode on. I usually do this when fueling my ICE vehicles and I did not even realize this was an issue when gassing up. During my road trip where I averaged around 70 mph I was getting almost 30 mpg. When the cruise control slows down in corners I just step on the gas almost every car I have used with adaptive cruise seem to do this at times. Thanks for the review! The pictures of Yellowstone were breathtaking!👍

The fueling up does not bother me. Technically you are supposed to have your vehicle off when getting gas. Most gas stations have warning signs saying that. Although it has never made much sense to me. Turning off and taking the key with you be wise anyway to prevent theft of the vehicle. As far as the intuitive cruise control braking/slowing when on interstate highway mine... does that exact same thing and it is super annoying and somewhat dangerous. I took mine back to the dealership last week complaining about that issue and they have it and won't let me get the vehicle back as they say it's a safety issue.

Everything I have read so far is the cruise thing is normal for Mazda and some other vehicles…. If this is true then adaptive cruise should not be in these cars IMO
@dougwhite2512
@dougwhite2512 Год назад
@@premiumoctane93 Do you mean it is normal in other Mazda models? I had a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder that has the intuitive cruise control and used it on this same trip numerous times and it has never done that. Once the Mazda even braked/slowed when there was a concrete median and there was a slight turn. No vehicle in front just a median to the left of the actual pavement. We have a Tesla too that has never done this and has the adaptive cruise (aka on basic autopilot). When I was purchasing this vehicle one of the things I really wanted was adaptive cruise control because we go on a lot of trips for my kids sports teams. Most trips are 200-450 miles. So having had that on the Nissan I got used to having such a nice feature. Now its basically useless if Mazda cant fix it.

The slowing down during turns while using ACC is a Mazda thing I think. I have a ‘18 Mazda 6 and it does the same thing in turns when using ACC. I think it’s related to the Skyactiv G software that’s built into newer Mazdas.

“I’m an aggressive driver” therefore I don’t need to signal lane changes? You lose all credibility with a comment like that. The useful content regarding poor highway mpg when not recharging is defeated by your complaints about the LKAS and the appropriate fuel tank access restrictions. You should re-visit a driver training course, methinks !
