Cybereye and his parents ran "Computer Lane" in Pembroke Pines Florida, an authorized Commodore repair shop and Amiga store. Interview includes his introduction to both C64 and Amiga computers, through the store selling old C64 inventory for use in South America for an unusual reason!
This interview is the first of potentially many interviews with people associated with Amiga and Commodore related companies or scenes. Be sure to let me know how you like this format of interview. This particular interview was an off the cuff one between 2 friends.

I have a TON to share, but only if people are interested. I am an end user, a power user at that on the Commodore 8bit and 16bit lines. I am a competent end user on many other platforms.
Thank you for your time.

I'm always excited when I see you've posted new material. Wasn't what I was expecting. Entertaining. Interesting. Definitely "off the cuff." Subtitles?

Much appreciated Robert! He corrected himself quickly when he said subtitles with broadcast titles. His father was previously in the video industry, both doing video equipment sales & repair and occasionally even behind the camera. Amiga using the NTSC standard made it easy to slide into the professional video industry. That was the only real industry it ever got a genuine foothold in for some years. There were broadcast title software along with genlocks and much more. There were big name movies and TV shows that used Amigas for titling and more. On a local level at least one TV station used them and at least one church for their TV broadcasts.

@redrumloa yes, I'm aware what the Amiga did for television back in the day. Star trek TNG, DS9 & Voyager to name a few. Your friend was extremely fortunate to have a father with a shop dealing in Commodore products. I envy him. My dad was all about HAM radios & chasing tornados. If only Commodore had taken some slightly different directions they may have survived. Atari's path is similar. Hubris with complacency was the root of their demise. People like us who lived the era carrie the nostalgia into the present time. Your buddy got to live in the best of it. Fun times! I'll be looking forward to the interview & the RAD expansion! Thanks again.

@@robertpanuski4213 Ah the RAD REU. I think I bit off a bite that's difficult to chew! 😆 Every single MB revision handles it different. I've tried it on a number of them but I think only 3-4 will make the video. Primarily 3 with a brief mention of the 4th. I am seeing why some people have issues, especially depending on the model and revision of the 64/128. I'll be releasing a first video some time relatively soon. I have more hours into it at this point than I care to admit. Time to compile what I have and let it land where it may.
