I find it ironic that everyone is wearing so many different Cybermen outfits but there's no Tomb Cybermen but this video is based on the Tomb of the Cybermen. Also, these are just great! I actually thought for a moment these were the actual costumes used in the show.
Its funny because the TARGET Cover for “Tomb of the Cybermen” featured an Invasion model Cyberman! I would have thought possibly someone saw that cover and was going by it - but of course its actually easier nowadays to actually watch “Tomb of the Cybermen” than to find the original Target novelization of Tomb. Of course even Attack of the Cybermen didnt have any Cybies but Earthshock/5 Doctors models, which disappointed me horribly as a kid - I was soooo hoping one of the decaying Cybermen would break out of a Tomb and be one of the Tomb/Moonbase models - or even the Invasion model as seen here (it and Revenge are my personal favorite designs), heck any of the older models would have been astonishing to see attacking the new models! Anachronistic issues aside - this is Doctor Who after all, this is incredibly cool, when was this done, why and where? And by Who? :-)
Love how creative they got in old movies “How do we make it look the Cybermen are breaking out of their tomb?” “Plastic sheets that they have to tear through” “Excellent suggestion”
It would have looked like glass back in the 60s. Sure plastic sheeting was around, but not commonplace. It's like when they made monsters from bubble wrap in the 70s. It was not commonplace, so it would have looked weird and alien.
Sweet! :D When the 'Attack' Cyber Controller came into view, I was totally expecting him to be the centre of attention and dramatic climax rather than saunter off to the side like that!! XD
It’s not from the Doctor Who Experience, but from a conversion in London. The reason there isn’t any ‘Tomb’ Cybermen is simply because there wasn’t anyone with those costumes in the group sadly.
Wow, there's been so many redesigns and styles! I think the look of the type that closes the tomb door has always my favourite, they looked so very smooth and precise.
I like what they did in the past regarding the designs, minus the silver nemesis one because, well, too shiny, and the nightmare in silver ones ( which I don’t like because they feel too much like iron man, and they don’t feel like upgraded people in contrast to the ones before the cybus cybermen, which is one of my favorites)
@@enderplay4712 I am not a fan of any New Series ones, but IMO the Cybus Men are the worst because they are so clunky and cheesey instead of frightening.
They go over the top now trying To please the next Generatoin , it Has to look to Mechanical , futuristic Every thing has to wow , everything Blowing up , and there still bored , we Original Dr Who followers , all we needed Was a Story line , the thing is what was there weakness , no not blow them up , Man no Imaginations , It was there Lungs Gold dust was there weakness, you had To kill them with Gold Gliter Gun , so what Do they do make a Cyberpunk , Sorry CYBERMAN with no lungs , talk about Not following the story line , it Called a CLASSIC , Series for a reason , So I SORT of was getting used to it Dr Who In the 21 Century , then he Dr Who , a man Turns into a Woman , Jokeing , that not Only me saying this 2 Girls at work said the Same thing , It ok Society is Happy with Strong lead males ,
Godzilla Oh yeah good point. I was thinking those were from Revenge of the Cybermen, but I can see how the costumes used in both look extremely similar.
Why not? They also used the Earthshock style versions in between them. They wanted to show of various versions used throughout the history of Doctor Who, obviously.
It was an interesting way of displaying the Cybermen, not a creation of the specific Cybertomb scenes from 'Tomb of The Cybermen', hence the Tomb itself is a little different. They didn't only have Invasion ones either, they had Earthshock ones (or probably Attack ones due to the Controller) and some New Series ones.
It isn't supposed to be a recreation of 'Tomb of The Cybermen', though. It was just an interesting way to show off all the Cybermen costumes from various eras that they had there.
Agreed. The Cybusmen are so clunkey and cheesey looking and thus have a chill-factor of zero. The design after the Cybermen in New Who wasn't as bad but they were only passable and mediocre at best. They did create a better head for them in series 12 though.
why don’t they bring back the old cybermen with the original costumes like in “An adventure in space and time” we see a tenth planet cyberman at the start of the movie in the 60s costume yet they unnecessarily redesigned them come world enough and time. they looked awful compared to the original tenth planet cybermen
