I was enjoying this melody when playing through this mission but had no idea Johnny was there. I accidentally bumped the mouse and saw him chillin'. Made my fucking day. This game has so many great moments.
One of the best scenes in the game. Might sound ridiculous, but there are some scenes in this game that were so serene and perfect that they make me feel like everything is going to be fine.
Witcher 3 was really good. I wasn't a PlayStation kid though so I never got to enjoy FF. Hoping to resolve that eventually, but I think my first PlayStation series that Im gonna run through is Metal Gear.
@cato: I experienced something similar to this, it was a smaller speed boat not a yacht, and there was three other guys with us, but man I couldn’t tell you how much of vide it was.
@@TheShadedPhoenix I love the game, but when I was playing I was literally laughing at the scene where Jackie put the biochip in V's head when he was dying because the model of the chip was replaced with a gun
@@TheShadedPhoenix That's really dumb arguement, you don't like cause you haven't finished it, bruh I did and I think it was a horrid mess and should've been in dev time longer. Tho I can't deny it has some really good and piognant moments, shame how the game turned out, had the potential to be a classic
For real, I would call panam just to hear her voice again while roaming the world, Im glad I ended the game with her ending, cause i got to see her again one last time, despite it being really bittersweet ending where you still die anyway.
@@nwyk153 but other side Kerry broke up with u bc u wanted to leave NC with Kerry but Kerry doesn't want to then he talks about his NC fame etc and he leave and they r argued a little bit
@@Nick-597 Even "bad/evil" characters like Hanako and Placide had their moments, especially because it's easy to see why they would act the way they do as it's on their own best interest
This game is almost terrifyingly relatable, especially when you play as a nomad. You start from the very bottom, your family fell apart, you’ve got nothing left and you’re on your own. You try to run away from the past only to find yourself caught up in another mess which ultimately costs you your life and all you ever wanted was a fresh start, to become somebody that someone will remember when you’re gone. But at the end of it all, you realize the only thing that truly matters are the people you meet that will eventually become your new family, and with the little time you have left, you might as spend it surrounded by the ones you have left.
Underneath the grizzled, unstoppable Merc who hunts the worst criminals of Night city under the cover of darkness, wiping out corpo soldiers, V is actually quite a relatable character. Everything said has real tangible emotion behind it. V isn't just a vessel for the player and I appreciate that.
I do not really know what to say. The game just left me with big fcking hole in my heart. I do not care what people say, that game is still, story-wise the best game I ever played. I played many games that left me "empty"... but this one, I cried.
@@iare19 I think this hit different because V is basically you. While Geralt already has his own personality and interests, so for me, i can't really relate with him that much.
Yeah, I think my problem with witcher series is firstly 3Person game and secondly, the character is already defined. Story is pretty much subjective, so I can not say which is better, that is for every individual to decide. But for me, personally, cyberpunk is story-wise better.
From someone who didn’t make it to this part: I wasn’t blinded by hate, I really like open world games and the first thing I do when the world is made open is to ignore all quests and simply explore. Problem is there is nothing to find, it’s always the same police patrol, gang members, or a side quest. Don’t get me wrong the story is really good and a highlight but as I am not so much into the story as I am to the game I simply didn’t feel like finishing it as it seemed like I wouldn’t find nothing worth while. Some people don’t hate the game, it’s just not for everyone this game such as every other game. Jumping on a bandwagon being it loving or hating a game is never good. That said, it’s pretty good song and made me wish the world had some stuff as good as this song.
I read this elsewhere, but when you first meet Kerry he has a gun in his hand. What was he doing in the shower with a gun? Remember his depression? This makes the scene so much better.
He actually almost admits to it. After the concert he says "this is the gun I tried to shoot Johnny with" V says "You mean me" and he says "Yeah and earlier... uh nevermind." Was probably gonna say "and earlier myself."
@malcolm4314 sure in a one off line he does but if you romance him and listen to his phone calls post game it's very clear he's got depression that V helps him out with.
Wish there was more interaction with him after this quest. Especially considering the message he sends you after the Nomad ending. You help him up out of his depression and he starts truly living again, only for you to leave...
I wish you had more interaction with the side characters in general, especially love interests. Seriously, I'm so disappointed I couldn't take Takemura clubbing just to see his reaction, or call up my girl Panam and have the two of us chill in V's apartment
When I was on the yacht with Kerry and heard him go into this jam humming, I felt the emotions of the music and it feel like a sad redemption piece. Absolutely beautiful moment, I didn't touch a dialogue option until I had heard the loop maybe 3 times. Sad undertones, but the feeling of levity that makes it okay. This quest felt like you could really understand his new breath of life he got from being able to "see" his old friend once more which gave him clarity on things that were shrouded for the 50 years Johnny was gone.
It's properly Slavic. Most of our music is like that, very dark, but still optimistic in some way. With the world we've lived in for the past few centuries, you either learn to find joy in pain, or you go mad from grief and worry. That is precisely why The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 have such an effect. The Poles can match us Russians for the darkness and emotional aspects, but they've also got a very Germanic seriousness and objectivity to their art. It's why we respect them so much. Also because it didn't matter how many rebellions we put down, they just kept coming back, never giving up the fight until they got their freedom
Can’t disagree. The game overall was disappointing but I gotta say the side characters are so unbelievably well written and this scene with Kerry shows that
It's good this way. Unfinished. No lyrics. You can absorb the feelings. The sadness. The hope. The past, the future. It's all in there if you listen close. I love the way it is. I don't think it needs a full version :)
@George Adept you can just click on the wait button in your character menu and type down how many hours you want to wait. He will call you after 24 hours
@@user-wx4on4jx6m did you want them to make 3 different stories? I think lifepaths are good as they are. They give each lifepath their own benefits and dialogue options which can be used to gain eddies, information, comfort, threaten etc.
@@JokinglySeriousHuman the life paths prologues are still too short I was expecting something akin to Dragon age origins the life paths tend to just give you an extra dialogue option most of the time the don’t effect much. The marketing made it seems like the life paths were gonna have huge effects.
I was totally taken aback by this moment in the game and loved every second of it. I listened to the whole thing and just took in the calm, somewhat melancholic atmosphere. The final, heavy hitting touch was Johnny lying in the background without uttering a single word. It's moments like these that make you feel something that is almost impossible to recreate in any other media than video games. Thank you, CDPR.
The fact that Johnny said nothing at all seemed more meaningful than if he had spoken. It was like he was finally just enjoying hearing Kerry play what he wanted to play, and perhaps feeling sad about the way things were between them.
Only on consoles. The PC version is such a blast to play with. I already finished the main story and no game breaking bug so far. Only bugs I encountered so far are some random T pose NPCs.
@@venveng good for you man, im playing on pc and cant say its been a smooth ride... performance is surprising on my lil trusty 2060 but bugs can get very annoying: npcs not spawning, quest items clipped and unreachable, random game crashes and even bluescreens for me... also the progression is quite unbalanced: you cant get even half of all the skills and perks playing normally and completing ALL of the quests (including gigs, police scanner stuff etc...) and also money is quite unbalanced, some stuff is too expensive and you cant get everything youd want to get playing normally. So far ive found that by modding in some perks and money as a headstart just at the beginning makes the game so much more enjoyable, also small mods like handling patches, performance fixes and a light reshade make the game perfect, im really enjoying it now and its my new favorite game.
@@venveng games missing features are missing from both pc and consoles buddy, he wasnt talking about bugs and glitches, cdpr lied about so many features and open world has serious issues, some of them cant be fixed unlike bugs
@@WillyJL use cheat engine. I used it, and got lots of money and materials, the game became like 20 times more fun and I didn’t have to worry about material shortages.
It would have been perfect if after completing this mission it was announced Kerry came out with a new single, and this got full lyrics and got added to the radio. The player could turn on the radio and hear the influence they've had on Night City, and the small bit brighter they've made it.
Listening to this after completing every quest and on the way to the final really makes it special. Truly the journey is more valuable than the destination.
exactly when i came across it, only got the "meet hanako at embers" left. 100% the map, got to this and it just feels right.. love it... been a great journey this game... i dont understand the hate.
Kerry's questline was actually the last one I did before finishing my second playthrough, and it was great. It felt really natural heading from the burning yacht to go to Embers to meet your fate
Never had something come to me like this or publish it to a public forum before but here goes. Verse 1 Rock, sitting in a stream, I just feel like everything just rushes by me Always out of reach, weight myself down with expectaion I never feel, that joy in my heart, that love, that freedom Greed, Anxiety, trap me Chorus Deep Down, Deep Down, tell me what it means to live, I just want to know Deep Down, Deep Down, how am I supposed to live, what is deep in my soul Deep Down, Deep Down, all I want to do is live, let it take control Deep Down, Deep Down can I find what it is How do I push through that wall of fear yea. To be continued?
This scene was probably the deepest scene out of all the scenes in most of the games that have been developed up to this point. The exploration of finding one’s inner strength and rediscovering one’s self hit hard on that yacht and the song flowed perfectly with it as well as made whoever played it feel that.
I love this song so much. At this perfect moment. So much regret, loss, perseverance, hope, then change ~ just to do it all again. Loops, man. Loops. But hes still here. And johnny ain’t.
I think he and Johnny are one in the same. The big difference was Kerry wanted to see the world he changed where Johnny didn't care if he lived to see the end, only that it did end.
@@baphomathedude8057 dunno dude. He seems to show a lot of growth from when Johhny knew him- it seems to me that they started the same. But kerry went through a lot of loops since them. and johhny has been stuck in a engram unchanging, most of the time they almost seemed a foil to eachother. Ironically Alt has also been trapped but has completely and totally changed. I like th writing I think its pretty rad. LoL no way Johhny would work with Crush Me tho- fucking corpo sponsored with the bug eyes
This moment right here is probably the most memorable in the game for me. There was something transcendent about this scene. Just you, sitting, listening to Kerry strum his guitar as Johnny lay on the side of the boat in front of the setting sun.
I beat the game and I felt crushed at the endings with there being no “happy” one. Going back to the point of no return I eventually came across this mission and started to feel more at peace as the song went on. Weird how it works sometimes.
@@skullduggery1385 I have a feeling V taking his body back and searching for a "cure" in Arizona will be a DLC one day or maybe the second game if DLC is too ambitious for something like that. All the endings where he survives could work with something like that in so way from Panams to even the living legend one after the casino heist. Just a thought tho
The Nomad with Panam seemed kind of happy. I know he was still sick but I done believe it explicitly said he only had 6 months like the others and you and Panam (and I suspect Judy if you chose the Nomad ending) are going off to find a cure. So it’s certainly more hopeful if anything.
Best Ending for V is probably the one with Panam - it ends on a note of hope. The best ending for Johnny is obviously the one where you give Johnny your body. He lives on and gets a new life for himself. I'd have wished for some kind of ending where you manage to stay with Johnny - kind of like stopping the takeover of the relic, while V stays in his body and Johnny stays in his head.
I hear "Tongue tied, Tongue tied - Didn't really give em much - This time, this time, I'll tell em what I think but I'm Tongue tied, Tongue tied - Didn't really give em much....This time, this time, I'll tell em ---- Tell em what I think ---"
I just finished the game and I wanna cry..what a great game. Sure it had its flaws, but if you actually play the game, it’s beautiful. I hope they release some DLC
I was originally gonna say imagining the smell of sea breeze amplifies the emotion of this scene a shit ton, but then I realized that the sea breeze of night city probably isn’t as pleasant as “ours”.
This part of the game was truly my favorite. Kerry was such an interesting character and was just lost in the fact that every time someone thinks of “Samurai” they think of Johnny even tho they were both quite talented in their own regard and that, for awhile, it was only the two of them in the band and were together from start up til Johnny left him.
I quit my job recently and was left wondering if I made the right choice, then I finished this game with the stars ending an all that worry melted away I feel like I've got my new start and to quote a dear choom "work for yourself live for yourself, that's the only way."
Ngl this totally made the romance path for me. Don't even need the sex scene (Judy's is the best anyway), watching my boy hum along to his guitar is IRL husband material for me lol.
Really ? You have sex with Panam in a tank, one where you can feel each others own senses no less! It was awesome, the questlines even better. Not that Kerry isn't amazing either
@@kesler4245 AI needs improvement, why negate it? Some extra physics would help too, and a few extra interactive stuff to explore the city outside quests. That'd make the game a top one for sure. Bugs and glitches don't matter as those will get fixed like most games.
This scene was just beautiful and then hits me with that hot romance scene omg literally the hottest (pun) and coolest romance scene I’ve seen in movies, tv shows and games. Honestly my ideal dream date haha.
By far one of my favorite parts of the game, sort of gives you closure towards the end. The song, Johnny chillin on the boat, the sun setting on Night City, solid vibes for sure
This is so raw.. I actually bought myself a guitar and amp just to play this myself. I'd imagine some of the words would be something like: "Ain't nothing but loops and circles" "Go down, round and round" "Ain't nothing but loops and circles, let me tell you bout it." "There's much more to life, than just what you see"
not everyone get to this point in CP... but I did! those END GAME missions were the best, that with this pop girls, and also that one with that famous singer and her boyfrend
Good news, an awesome dude by the name of Mark Taylor (here on YT) tabbed out the song, very accurately too! I'm starting to learn it as well, might be a bit too advanced for me though. Good luck choomba :>
I haven't touched a guitar in 15 years and hearing this song 6 months ago got me to get off my ass and actually learn to play the guitar again. It took me a while to relearn everything but I'm so happy to be able to play this.
This game has brought out some genuine emotional responses from me. The Boat Drinks side mission seen here is one of those. The player, Johnny and Kerry talking about making changes and an ending an era is relatable and the song sets the tone. There are few games that have so many gems that make it special despite the flaws its still dealing with. This game and its story hold a special place in my mind.
@@deaderdandead1484 the point is that the witcher was packed full of an equal amount of side quests to main story or at least it felt that way. This game feels like its all side quests and they were always not on par with witcher 3s sidequests. Only good ones are the kenny eurodyne ones. Hell the lizzy whizzy one is a 10 minute quest about a cheater.
I feel sad after doing this quest. I've done all the Judy missions, panam missions and now Kerry missions. All were great characters, I'm just like what else is there to do other than playing out the alternate endings? Edit: honestly I hope they don’t release any dlc content for a year. And use that year to actually fix the bugs and polish the game to what it should have been at launch.
@Ravioli I really liked River's questline. Especially where you play with the two kids, that part was so funny :) or the more dark part with that psycho and his "meat" farm
yeah played it 3 times already finished all the content this game has nothing to do when you beat the main mission and main sidequest... I oneshoot everything so yeah no points of playing.. anymore
Kerry made me feel things I didn't think I could feel in a game like this. I'm straight, and even with a male character self-insert, I had to romance him and make sure he was able to open a new chapter in his life... the dude needed to continue his journey and leave Johnny behind. Easy choice of a romance, and leagues better than Judy and Panam.
i can’t wait to go back to this game in a year when the dlc comes out and all the bugs are fixed and just have a great time going back through the story, making a few different decisions, maybe playing a different background path and just finding all these great nuggets of brilliance that i missed first time around
I didn't really give much of a fuck about Kerry (basically like Jhonny didn't), until I got in this boat. Jhonny laying back, this riff playing, that's when I finally got it. The ending couldn't be more perfect: A baptism of fire and water. A fucking men
It's worth noting, since the game seems to forget this, but Kerry and the rest of Samurai are at least in their 80s by this point. They were around in 2013 for Alt's death, and were still rather young in 2023 when Johnny blew up Arasaka tower, meaning they had to be no younger than their mid 30s by that point
I don't even own cyberpunk, primarily because my PC is too shit to run any modern game, but I randomly found this song and I've been listening to it on loop.. for a few days straight.
I think that's the point, Kerry was always in Johnny's shadow because his over the top personality but by 2077 Kerry is world famous and nobody even remembers Johnny's band
Kerry is my favorite of all of them. I like every body, I haven't romanced everyone (actually just finished the game yesterday) but he is still my favorite. He kind of just brought some emotions out in me and I really connected with him. His ending (chose Rogue and Johnny and made Johnny walk the bridge instead of V) was so bittersweet and cute. I am going to romance everyone, but after DLCs and patches come out and I come back to CP77, I am going to romance him again.
This is sooooo good... I'm so amazed by those little things made by CDPR. I mean, in Witcher 3 we had Priscilla's song, here we have Kerry playing. All this deliver such a special feeling. When you just enjoy the moment and think. It just hit right in emotions. I feel sad for devs for such a harsh opinion on CP2077, but I also understand. The game is good only when it's good. I play it on PC, and enjoy every single moment of it. From what i've seen, from gameplay on older consoles, it just wouldn't give me such a vibe. In summary, CDPR again made a masterpiece of a game. They made a few mistakes, but still this game is top quality. Thanks for upload man!
People tend to cover for them but they fucked up big time knowing really well what they were doing. This game could be the best game of all time but money was far more important. They really need to pull a god game now to bring players back. Fanboys would buy and play even if they released tetris named cyberpunk. I hope they will tone down their marketing 'cause it's lawsuit worthy.
@@blackking1837 Maybe to him it didn't live up to the full potential, that's all subjective in the end, I personally loved it lol but I also had reasonable expectations and was pleasantly surprised
@@lowbornfool1713 Story/atmosphere and score are all top notch stuff. The lack of meaningful choices, shallow open-world, and clunky systems brings it waaaaay down for me. The buggy part is only the soggy cherry on top. It's just not the game that was marketed but I still don't regret having gave it a playthrough.
Started playing cyberpunk again after a break and got the Kerry missions which reminded me of this sweet beautiful melody and I’ve been humming it all day
This was so relaxing to listen to when I got to this mission I sat there listening to Kerry strumming and humming along I need to learn how to play it so I can just sit on my porch just playing this when I need a moment to myself
I come back to this song all of the time. Cyberpunk wasn't a perfect game, but what game is? Sure, there are so many things that I wish were done differently.. Especially with Kerry's romantic route. This part was the most satisfying, enjoyable part of the game, and I wish it was built up more.. I wish there seemed to be importance with Kerry and V, because listening to this song, it makes me emotional every single time. Despite the problems, I love Kerry. I love Cyberpunk.
One of the best character arcs Going from being the most unhappy person in Night city on the verge of flatlining himself To Vibing on a yacht having resolved his traumas and doubts on life with his best friends Johnny and V
