Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: New Judy Romance Ending 

“Just a quick 8 hour adventure, let’s go” *V’s life once again getting consumed by absolute loss and pain*

If you romanced Judy, then the most heartbreaking part of this is that she ask you to not "take this away from her" because shes happy. Basically asking V not to come back into her life. V doesnt even get a reciprocal "I'm gonna miss you too" Just a "Yeah"

Devs really hate the idea of a real happy ending

V: *Stops carrying people to take care of themselves for once* Companions: *Wait, that's illegal*

Good note for those romancing Judy then. If you want a happy ending with her, don't pick this ending. Still stick with the Nomad one.

*spoiler warning* That ending is worse if you weren't in a romance with her. Because you are just friends. There's no reason that your presence would interfere with her marriage. You were awesome when you were helping her out, but now that you are in a jam, she can't be bothered. And there's no romance to interfere with her current happiness. Still beats Panam, who won't even tell you to F off to your face. Circumstances beyond your control, and she has Mitch leave you a voicemail. Whole thing made me feel like no one gives a rats about you unless you are useful to them. Viktor and Misty are the only real ones.

Judy: Gonna take over clouds no matter what! they hurt Evelyn! V: I'll help because you mean alot to me. Judy: Gotta a reason to stay in the City now, I'll wait for you. *V goes missing without any information* Judy: ight imma head out.

All this heartbreak could've been avoided had V simply bothered to text/ask Reed to notify Judy of where she was going. Even if V thought the surgery would be quick, you always keep loved ones in the loop. Otherwise you end up with a Cast Away situation

I had no regrets sending Songbird to the moon before I found out about this... and I still have no regrets.

Why do half the people V put's their life on the line to help care so little about V in this ending. Like everything you did meant so little to them. Once they used you up and you are at your lowest they can't even stand your presence.

I just don't understand why Judy would do that, yes I get it. Gone for two years, but she didn't seem to care at all even when she said sorry. Now I'm sad as hell, V and Judy really meant a lot too me as characters. This just feels so wrong, I can actually imagine V breaking down into tears when she gets home.

These new endings (via the DLC) with Judy and Panam are hilarious. V. "loses everything" because he/she decided not to give loved ones a detailed update before undergoing a risky operation, or even bother to task anyone with informing loved ones if the operation went sideways. Hilariously stupid and lazy writing.

This ending gave me a whole new level of appriciation for Johnny, Vik, Misty and Jackie. In the end, Johnny was willing to give his life for you and not in a "I'm gonna nuke arasaka tower" kinda way like with Alt but in a mature and genuinely caring way. Even after 2 years, Vik never gave up on V and even with him being unhappy and everything going to shit, he still made time for his friend. Despite not spending that much time with Misty in the game, she clearly cares deeply for V and wants nothing but the best for them. And even though he died early, if Jackie was alive in this ending you know for a fact the first thing he would do is invite V over to stay with him and Mama Welles until they got back on their feet. Also Kerry is a real one, this ending bumped him up in my list of favourite characters massively, if you romanced Kerry this is actually the best ending cus as soon as his tour is over you just pick up where you left off.

The only glimmer of hope this "living" ending has is that V can always "make new friends/lovers/etc..." can't do that if you're dead.

If that isn't the biggest god damn gut punch...

The ending is called - "The Tower" for a reason. It denotes the Tower card of the Major Arcana which denotes an utter, sudden, and complete destruction of what was before with almost no positive side to it. This ending destroys V's legacy, relationships, identity, everything. This has to be one of the worst endings in the game, perhaps after the Devil ending where you bring back and help resurrect Satan (Saburo).

it hits hard, when Johnny says goodbye and you hear the tune which was played before when another close friend of V dies. :`(

The look on Johnny's face when he says "Think this is it, kiddo" gets me every time

Damn. That's even more depressing. I always wondered how Judy handled V being away so much and often never knowing if she'd come back. In this context it probably felt like an eternity. I like that subtle touch in the way she responds. Asks V not to cause any trouble. Because if V shows up - Judy will go to her and ruin her peaceful new life. She can't be in that kind of pain again. She has to let V go.

I can't help noticing you're basically wearing almost what you had at level 1. They're telling you bluntly how weak V is now

I wouldn't mind this ending if V at least had the option to romance someone else so she isn't alone, too. Does V really deserve all these gut punches after all she's been through? Sheesh.

With Panam, she was loyal and was so broken by how she thought we left her that she basically had Mitch tell us to die in a hole, and with Judy, she stayed happy and optimistic, but decided to grab someone else instead I mean, kinda understandable but goddamn bro there aint nothing good to come for V except for Viktor being around

You don't beat Adam Smasher, kill Johnny permanently, Arasaka runs NC still, lose Judy or Panam, lose almost all your friends, not become a legend or rich which was your original goal with Jackie. All the loss just to live. I feel like V with have rather gave up life than to start again with nothing.

V might’ve well killed themselves… feels like the same outcome for most in their life. At least in that ending there was closure for many of them and now? V just lives with the fact almost everyone has moved on, regardless of why it happened… sad asf

I’m glad Judy got a happy ending, but shame it wasn’t with V. This certainly is one of the worst endings for V, she might be alive but at what cost? Her Coma robbed her of a chance to be happy with her loved one, she’s basically lost her other best friend, First Jackie, now Johnny. Vik’s basically lost his freedom, been forced into being Corpo ripper, Misty seems to be on a path to get “better cards” despite losing Jackie & her shop, and V’s lost her chrome, her legend, her way of life as a merc now just another face in the crowd of a dystopian future. Although it is interesting to see the others a bit older and what they’re up too and what Night City has become in 2079. Johnny kinda got his wish in the end with the downfall of Arasaka. “Cause we lost everything. We had to pay the price”… “that one thing that changed it all. That one sin that caused the fall”… “Will never Fade Away.”

I love Johnny. Literally one of my fave characters in the game. Especially when you befriend him.

Seeing all the other endings, I’m glad I sent songbird to the moon cuz fuck the pain from the others.

Isnt it standard procedure for hospitals to ask for a number they can call in case of emergency? Why wouldnt V be more precise in her texts to Judy and the others, so everyone knew what was going on? The misery in this ending feels constructed and illogical so I am sticking with the misery out of the star ending, thank you very much.

To spare you of details, dialogues don't change even when others are romanced. They just get you same friendly dialogues.

"Thought about how you're gonna spend your 30 pieces of silver?" That hit me hard. I couldn't betray her.

Honestly these endings are right in line with the dystopian future. I like the nomad ending with both V's, you'll both end up with your loved ones. And I also love the don't fear the reaper ending with you and Johnny slaying Arasaka.

Johnny was the one true romance all along

Judy said she happy but you can tell she’s isn’t that happy with the new life. She happy to be away from night city but she not happy about being away from V. Even though V didn’t give her to choice being alone for two years a lot can happen. Part of her is happy but the other part is not.

There was a phrase from Dex that Jhonny says in the arasaka ending. It was about being Mr. Nobody in a long life or being remembered in a short one. For me this is definitely the second worst ending for V and that scene walking with the rest of the people confirmed it.

Why is Judy married with a crossbow?

This is why when you're in love you don't forget about your homies, Vik and Misty where the only ones really there for you, love interests come and go.

That kind of shit would turn me into a super vilain lol, damn those people have a very short memory

in mass effect 2 when MC was in coma for a few years that lovely krogan jump from his throne to hug me (he was happy to see me alive and in cyber : it's been two years now go F yourself . me like : wtf dude i did all of your side quest and my reward is zero effect on main ending that's lame ending

The best ending is still girl V leaving Night City with Panama and Judy then.... I didn't wanna kill Idris but im glad I sent Songbird to the moon now.

This is basically the cuck version of the suicide ending nice CDPR. I'd rather not get cured and just spend my remaining days with either Panam or Judy slowly dying rather than living and not being with either of them. In Night City, there's always trade-offs, and I'd rather take the least saddest one.

Probably the worst ending. Yes, V lives to start a new but everything once known vanishes. V wanted to be the top of their game but now that's seemingly impossible given the circumstances. For me personally, I didn't want Johnny or Songbird to die. The people V met along the way for me, were more valuable than finding the cure. And knowing what was going to happen to Songbird after you hand her over, just reinforced my decision, at least everyone was happy. Better yet, after you send Song to the Moon, Alex calls you and you make amends. Perfect ending in my book, then you can complete the game and go with Panam.

I still think this was the worst ending they gave Judy and V. Judy wouldn't of done that. I think what I hate more is the fact judy felt more down to earth then most of the other characters especially given the history of things between them. Kinda feel like they fumbled the bag, and it actually upsets me irl dunno why lol.

2 years? I play a male V so it didn't really register but I've just realised.. 2 years? She moved away, met someone else and then married them.. in 2 years? Really? Married someone within 2 years? Well good news for V I suppose because if that isn't one hell of a rebound marriage then I don't know what is

i hate the new ending, life and loose all your friends and be a nobody .............. or life 3 months with friends,.................... live alone and have nobody, .... of die soon with friends...... even panam end sucks if you know she not want contact anymore because you not choose her ending , ................

I think this is the best ending for Judy, look at her marry and out of that damn city. But this ending is not immersive MY V will have never ever not tell her friends atleast her girlfriend what she is going to do

This pure heart breaking too much to bare:( I just finished entire new playthrough 92hours + and finished PL for first time and picked another ending but this..this too much for me to choose for my second playthrough.

and that's why the king of wands, where you kill reed, it's the best ending for me, I don't think V will want to be cured but be like everyone else, I think she would prefer to live some more months and with that the nomad ending has more meaning

Just finished the DLC with this ending... Completed the game with every ending, but this one felt the worst.. V lives, but lost his/her dream, friends and lover Maybe the worst ending I have ever played in a game

Yeah wtf is the tower ending? Hurr durr lets not tell anyone im gonna be going into extreme surgery and may die. This ending just seems to cdpr going "you want an ending where v lives? Good its gonna be just as bad as the arasaka one then"

So I waited a year for my happily ever after with Judy just to be slapped in the face with this shit, I straight up uninstalled the game and went back to Baldur’s gate 3. I don’t have the game just this ending is not worth a year wait

Why does no one EVER select ‘how could you’

This ending is haunting and really gnaws at me. Maybe because it tugs at a fear of mine. How empty V must feel!

Did the concept of an emergency contact disappear at some point in the Cyberpunk universe? This ending feels way too forced into a sad ending to be real.

I haven’t been able to sleep after seeing the ending, it changes my perspective of all the events and characters throughout the game. 2 years is a lot but it’s not THAT long, they know V was dealing with the relic especially b4 V leaves he/she sends messages (should’ve been more detailed telling friends what’s gonna happen) and they all leave V in the dirt…how could you let someone like that go…especially knowing what they’ve been going through and hearing they’ve been in a coma for 2 years..

This is literally CD Projekt Red saying "You wanted V to live for real-real? Well here you go! Except their life is a misery. V was a freaking god of war, and this? Barely a plant. Alive but not living." Fuck it. Songbird gets to live and I get to go with Judy and Aldecaldos, someone who proved to be real family. I know people like Panam more cause she's a great character and Judy is.. well she kinda fucked up, but I like her more. :)

So.. there’s really no happy ending here. Glad to know no matter what decision was made. We fade away or end up alone.

I am so glad i sent Songbird to the moon, cause literally I wouldn't survive talking to Judy ingame. The whole world could stand ablaze, the only thing I want is for V and Judy to be happy together...

Cool. No reason to play Phantom Liberty if they tank the romance like this. Good to know. Saved me 30 bucks.

I feel like this and Don't Fear the Reaper ending are the best possible ending for V if either you didn't romance anyone or if you romanced Kerry, he's the only good choice for this new ending as he was the only one actually happy to talk to V again and would meet again after he was done with his tour. Everyone else moved on from V. Judy got married, Panam and to the same extension The Aldecaldos (huh? Thought they always took care of their own) all want nothing to do with you, River is ashamed of himself. The one light of hope V has in this ending is that V can now actually decide what to do with him/herself and has endless possibilities without the fear of death lingering like in the other endings. They'll meet new friends, new romantic partners all it cost was V's old life and everyone (except Kerry, Misty and Vik) with it. My V romanced Panam and had a Corpo background, so to me taking the Langley job feels natural now that Panam doesn't want to see V again.

Her only and true friend was Johnny not judy bad end but true People won't be there for you in your hard times The bad ending for V is that she loses everything.

maybe it’s me being hopeful, but i just played through this ending and to me it sounds like she’s repressing something. v was important to her, she met her grandma ffs, she was planning on leaving the city with her, and instead of telling v that she was in love with someone else and to fuck oft, she told her she was lonely and she couldn't be alone so she uprooted her life, met someone completely different, and committed to someone so quick to avoid feeling hopeful that v would come back. she then asks her to not call her anymore, that she was “happy.” if she were really that happy, v coming back would not bother her, at the very least it'd be like old chooms meeting and laughing about how young and naive they were about the world. i’m sure that if we had the option and they met up, judy would’ve probably lost all of her progress and she would’ve folded for v again- she was trying to protect herself; she’s a married woman, her life has been made up already. to uproot her life again and start anew and go through another change would be too much. she's like vik- comfortable, but uhappy. just my theory though. judy's a complex character, impulsive being in her top 5 traits imo. no way the deepest relationship connection we made just…fizzled out over someone else. but poor v if it did. cant have shit in NC.

I did phantom liberty right before the final mission, and i gotta say, sending songbird to the moon, and having v say "So many lives lost to save just one", makes storming arasaka with johnny make so much sense for the ending. It's like V saw firsthand how many people in his life could suffer on his behalf, and with the NUSA now being his enemy, he's truly got nothing left but to go out with a bang. This ending almost feels like V, at least based on my decisions, failed to learn his lesson from the DLC, and seeing everyone not care is the karma of it

I am not sure but my headcannon is that Judy meant that V shouldn't come with the expectation that things will be the same. V might visit at some point after having adjusted to their life. It's still a bit sad but it's not like people can't adjust and move on. People can reconnect with different outlooks. It reminds me a little bit about the better call saul ending like that. Going from the exceptional, what V had with Judy and being a top tier merc to normalcy is depressing in it's own right but V now has the luxury of time to adjust and heal those wounds. I don't see why they wouldn't be on friendly terms though not being their most important person still sucks. That said I still prefer the star ending massively. “This is why you don't bring back fallen warriors, sooner or later they're going to see everything they fought for's turned to shit.” a bit strong but not wrong, with vik as well. "A happy ending? For folks like us? Wrong city. Wrong people." Cyberpunk in a nutshell.

I just finished phantom liberty and my first and only ending was sending Songbird to the moon. i guess i choose the best ending possible. but after i know this ending i might neve look at judy the way i looked before its been 2 years but its like Judy never truly loved V...

The ending for me is sending Song to the stars, period. I just did a save copy to watch the other endings and get the achievements. But surrender her to the FIA felt so wrong, couldn't do it on my main save.

One worrying thing I noticed while playing this ending was, when the guy on the radio talks about how all the homeless seem to have vanished recently. Now knowing night city, that cannot mean anything good… and right now, since V lost her apartment/s, she is technically homeless. And without her implants she would be easy prey for whatever has been grabbing people…

This new ending is hands down the worst ending, don’t care what anyone says

I watched another video where it shows an option to not do the final surgery. What happens if you decline Reed’s help with the surgery? There’s no video showing what happens. Because I don’t wanna do it if it’s gonna put V in a coma for 2 years and lose Judy.

What? Seriously? This ending is fucked up. You romanced Judy on the original game and Judy ended up marrying someone else in Phantom Liberty while you're in a coma? Whoever wrote this ending really needs to get their brains checked.

Ya know what really grinds my gears about the new ending? The amount of unrealistic miscommunication between V and his "friends". V could've called them all, tell them that they've got a cure, but they gotta leave NC for a while. Tell the friends where they're going, so they can visit, tell em goodbye, have a party or something like that. Not just be like "I saved Madam Prez. Gotta leave NC for a while though. And because I care so much about you, I'll tell you nothing, so you have no way to contact or find me. I'm sure it'll all work out" Like come oooooon. Who does that? Incidentally, I haven't played far enough into PL, I've just decided to watch the new endings and stuff, so maybe I missed something

Aint no fuckin way, no fuckin sense than in two years someone could get engaged AND MARRIED! I aint no Judy fan but they script ain doing her justice, I get that Judy fills void space with relationships, Maiko, Evelyn, V... but come on! its just dumb, there is no way V just dives head on to the procedure without telling his/her couple, I mean, I suppose that happens that V before doing something BIG will at least inform his/her couple, it just annoys me alot that 2 years pass and everything goes to shit, doesnt make sense V isnt warning his/her couple about the MOST IMPORTANT SURGERY of her/his life! nor the couple just ghosting off while V finally has a chance to face some glimpse of salvation, totally dumb honestly.

Terrible writing. It’s like the writers thought all of us were dumb . They took us for granted. There is no way someone goes into major surgery without telling their loved ones… So they either: 1 suck at writing (which doesn’t make sense because everything else is pretty stellar), 2 got lazy, 3 think we are all idiots

It's sad everyone leaves V behind except for Missy and Vick. But i do think it was do with just piss poor writing, they were like 'How do we make the fans enjoy this story and hate us at the same time?'

To me, the moral of this is that someone like V doesn't plead for their life, doesn't beg and scrabble to live a shadow of an existence, they live each day to the fullest and when its time to die, it's time. In this ending they tried to cheat death and lost everything worth living for.

You could tell Judy was on drugs heavily, she aged so quickly in 2 years.

Liara came back after 2 years.. sigh. Glad I watched this and saved myself the broken feelings

the best ending in the game is when you go with johnny directly through the front door and assimilate into AIt Cunningham behind the blackwall. because in cyberpunk they found a way to transfer consciousnesses digitally, as opposed to reality where we hypothetically have only thought up ways to copy them into cloned vessels, it is the only way for V to survive while not giving up their ambitions. also johnny survives and finally beats arasaka, yorinobu survives and beats arasaka, mitch and rogue survive, you can let Smasher off the hook and give him a chance to go back to his secret true love michiko arasaka. only Goro kills himself :( the only good ending
