This is a great review, I love smaller channels for this type of stuff, especially since we absolutely cannot trust the main game media outlets anymore.
Just stumbled upon your very well thought-out and honest review. A much more positive assessment of the game. I recently got the ps5 and a brand new LG OLed Tv. Figured since the game was on sale for only 33 bucks its worth the gamble. Hopefully the game is playable and i get a good experience.
Literally came here cause I am wondering if it's worth the price now that it's on sale. Haven't finished this review yet but please let us know what you think of it if you get it.
@@Saxandfifths currently waiting for the 64 gb download to finish :) Did it solely base off the video. Also for 30 ish bucks I think it’s worth it especially since eventually they will be ps5 free upgrade if you already have the game
i had negative sentiment on this game when it was released. how i disappointed with bugs, promising features are not utilized well like factions and other stuff. i stopped playing it. now that i have spend 60 hours on it, i realize that this is actually an amazing game. briefly, there are many possibilities on how you play the game. excellent characters, progression, fun quests, detailed level design that many open-world games are lacking, fluid character build.
Playing as we speak on Series X after 1.3 and all I can say is wow.. the game is massively improved now, magnificent and brilliant runs flawlessly too.. Love it 😊
I can agree! I've been playing it on an off since it was released and have forgotten the story since I have been playing on and off. I might do a fresh start playthrough from the beginning now
So they finally added the ability to rebind the use key from "F" to "E". However, that's only in the main game, in the UI you cannot rebind it from "F" to "E", however if you changed it elsewhere, it will still prompt you to use the "E" key even though holding the "F" is is the only thing that will work. Also, apparently the elevator/lift buttons count as UI because of the mouse cursor, since you can't use "E" on them either, you have to press "F" still. This engine was designed by an alien. The car chase sequences are still fake. You don't have to fire a single shot to get through them, just watch the scripted events play out (I think the only exception are the drones during the Arasaka heist). The races are likely still fake as well, with contestants waiting patiently a short distance ahead of you if you come to a dead stop, and teleporting in right behind you when you're in the lead, and gunfire meaning nothing, as no vehicle can be taken out by shooting it during the race. You still have the waypoint at the El Coyote if you start as a Street Kid, which allows you to leave the Watson area during the lock down at the start of the game (you have to finish the section with Victor Vector first). As before, this doesn't activate gigs, or side quests in those areas, and any loot that's mission oriented won't spawn there. However you should be able to use the shops and engage in random encounters, though it's worth noting that CDPR seems to have modified the map to not show those locations in areas you're not supposed to be, so you'll have to look them up separately and drive there on your own. At one point I hit an out of bounds spot and it kept spawning me over and over onto a guard rail I couldn't get off of and the game didn't allow me to exit the vehicle until I had made myself sick re-spawning over and over until the car was level enough to hop out of. In addition, I once called the car to me, got inside, and the my car controls just didn't work, I couldn't move the car. I had hop out move further down the street and call the car over to me again so that it reset itself and I could drive it. Loot is still level locked, I submitted a screen shot just this morning of me finding a sniper rifle in the starting area right after talking to the ripper doc. I was level 2 and this was right outside the cyberware tutorial clinic and the weapon had a level requirement of 20. This is the start of the game, I'm level 2 and just finished talking to Victor for the first time, I explored right outside his clinic and found a sniper rifle that wants me to be 18 entire levels higher in order to even equip it. This system SUCKS! It also has no place in a single-player, open-world RPG. All of this is just the first like hour of gameplay, I haven't even really started the game yet.
When it comes to bugs on a good pc, immersion braking is the best way to describe it. I have around 90h in (almost all of it in 1.23 and some in 1.3) and not a single crash or broken quest have crossed paths with my experience. So yeah, if you have a good pc and your tolerance towards those small immersion braking bugs is high, then most definitely get this game. It really is an uncut diamond IMHO and I really appreciate how the devs are working hard to make it constantly better. Here's hoping that the PS4 and Xbox One players can also get fully functional version some day.
I appreciate your review, while pointing out some of it's issues, you still manage to say good things about it, where as most reviewers just totally trash it. I for one have played the game multiple times and continue to enjoy it. I've played through each of the life paths and have completed all ending choices. I haven't completed all of the side missions but do continue to fine new ones each time I play. Even with the glitches it continues of my favorite games of all times.
@@BMAGZ8 idk about Cyberpunk 2077 yet(which is why I’m watching this) but I literally just beat RE8 Village just 15mins ago, and I loved it. If you’re a fan of the last game or the old ResiEvil’s then you will love R.E. Village. It was a very welcoming return to form. It really has the feel, progression, and overall vibes of the classic R.E. games. The gameplay is clean, visuals/environments are beautiful, and the story is good. As a diehard R.E. and survival horror fan, RE8 Village was a must play for me. IMO it’s the best game in the series especially since the good ol’days. But if you play this game like it’s meant to be played then I honestly think it’s longer than 10hrs to beat. But if you like to play on easy and not explore, and look up walkthroughs then it’s probably close to 10hrs. But me personally, even on normal difficulty I completed the game in 21hrs on my 1st playthrough.... but I love to explore every nook and cranny, and find all the hidden collectibles, files, and upgrades. I also realize I’m not the norm and most people probably run n gun, and run from enemies if they can and tunnel vision on the main mission.
@@wheelergaoteote1393 funny I just beat cyberpunk an still have tons of side missions and by far one of my favorite games I’ve played, an online it said village was 10 hours, only reason I’ve been waiting till it’s on sale cause it literally hasn’t went on sale once so should be soon hopefully then I’ll def cop it. Wasn’t even really a big fan of 1st person games until I played cyberpunk
just finished, it was so good played on PC with 3080. It has some problems in combat and some small things. But the interactive story telling and the story it self + story of night city its self and its people and how it works. it was so gooood. played till secret ending and its 2nd best game i have playd in 2021
My main problem with this game is all the immersion breaking staff, like npcs and cars spawning/despawning, police teleporting, minimap not zooming out, terrible traffic AI, distractingly bad engine sounds, npcs cowering with their heads between their legs, just to list a few.
Picked this up for only 10 cents after using a gamestop $10 coupon. Playing on xbox series x and have had only minor glitches like people walking through cars and walls but thats it. Deff worth playing on next gen consoles now and looks amazing.
I picked it up again and I still have the xbox one, it’s very fun and much better than it was at launch in pretty much every way. I started a new game so I can get the satori katana that I missed and could not get with the various cheats, and play a female V. Anyway under all the glitches there’s a great game here.
Played it on Xbox one s since launch day, put 80 hours in the first week. Don't get me wrong the games buggy as shit and honestly was really hard to play at some points ( not difficulty as in because of the bugs) but it had an amazing story and world. I just really wish I could experience it at more than 5-25 fps
@@koopahkeoghan7703 I would say yes. If you can find it for less than $50 definitely. But I'll be completely honest, during almost every high action scene it runs at less than 25fps most of the time. The gunplay feels pretty bad but other than that you should love it
I just bought it on Xbox new at Gamestop for 8.99. The 1.31 patch has seemingly made it much more playable on console because I haven't had any issues after 10 hours of playing. I'm absolutely loving the experience.
I think the Story, Characters, City and Atmosphere (including the music) are just perfect. I loved playing this game with my 3090 on a 48" TV just 70cm away from me. Bugs (not a big problem on PC imo) and console problems aside, its one of the best or actually the best story game out there.
@@AverageGameReviews Yeah xD With 45-55 FPS it was playable in 4K. With anything else it wouldn't be playable in 4K which is sick... I mean the graphics are really good... But on the other hand the "optimization" isn't that good... Have a nice evening. Greetings from Switzerland to the UK.
Way too many people hating on this game. For PS4 it runs ok now. It's really not very glitchy anymore. There are rendering issues. The main story and characters are fantastic. It's worth it for that, but I got it for 30 bucks. I wouldn't pay full price.
I wouldn't say too many people are hating on it. I feel bad for the devs, but the publishers are reaping what they sew. They advertised it like it would be Witcher + GTA in a Cyberpunk future. It still falls well short of all of that. Especially the GTA side. Driving and driving AI still sounds extremely broken. If you don't care, or get it deeply discounted, that could be fine. But as it is, it still doesn't sound like I wouldn't be willing to spend more than $20. After the launch that they had and the trust that they broke, I honestly wouldn't be willing to spend much at all without a playable demo to show good will and let me decide how much buginess I can tolerate
I bought this game a few months ago and held off on playing it on ps5. Finally decided to play after the update and I love it so far! No noticeable bugs for me and it’s such an emmersive game. Spot on with the guns being very satisfying to use as well.
Had it since day one. I havent played in forever. I never experienced a lot of bugs that others were experiencing so I was lucky, and I'm excited to update it and play again!
I have a strong PC (Ryzen 9 3900x, 32GB RAM, M.2 SSD, RTX 3070), I bought the game when it releasead. My playthrough(s) had a lots of mild bugs, but no game breaking ones or crashes (for God's sake). So I enjoyed the game really much. I was able to play with Ray Tracing, which is very demanding, but I play in 1080p, so I could enjoy every setting on Ultra. The game is beutiful, with or without Ray Tracing, real "next gen", I didn't play any game yet, which is more beutiful than than CP2077. The main quest is great, very well written, great characters and enjoyable well dubbed dialoges with great voice actors. The sidequests are great as well, I made: "spoiler" Panam's, Judy's, River's, Kerry's "spoiler side quests and they were very meaningful and these characters also very well dubbed and used great voice actors, the "gigs" are sometimes good, sometimes very flat, but those are for level up, street cred and looting/money. I would add that one of my character, never ever used a weapon, maybe at the beginning, I used Legendary Quickhacks, I played as a Netrunner, my most powerful character yet. And also thegame not just about shooting, you can be a Ninja, which sneaks in the shadows and strangles the opponents and of course a Gunfighter, who has lots of strength and health and go and kill everybody, or you can mix the styles. Anyway I started a new playthrough with the new 1.31 patch and soon finishing the game, the performance is better, locked 60 fps for me in 1080p. I am at LVL 42, though still not talked with "spoiler" Hanako "spoiler off".
Played it on my base Ps4 since launch, and i still think, that it is one of the best games i've ever played. I don't care about the bugs, or the shitty fps, i bought this game because of the story, characters, and the cyberpunk world. And it delivers them very well. Maybe 1 or 2 years later it will get the missing content as well, at least i hope they will fix the game.
Couldn't agree more. It's really up there with my favourite games despite its flaws that others seem to care way too much about! A great game that deserves more credit.
Idk if you played it recently but have u noticed any improvements on it since the new update? Im thinking about jumping back in for a 2nd playthrough but I wanted to wait for more of it to be polished
@@Ryan-cs3uc last time i played the 1.2 version, i will jump back for my 3rd playthrough after we get all free dlc. But i follow the improvements and the news, and it's noticably runs better on base consoles since launch, and the game is less buggy. (with launch version i had 17-18 avg fps, now 27-28). Of course there is still plenty of work to do, but it's improving.
Played my 1st run on ps4 pro. Was ok but game felt unfinished. I'm o my 2nd run but thos time on ps5 with patch 1.3 and it is a lot better. Wait for next gen guys it's worth it.
The potential for this game could have been limitless. Cars, clothes, weapons, and android body parts are there but it's a fraction of what it could have been. Customization options could have been much more extensive. They could have added a fourth storyline route as a detective or P.I. There REALLY should be cops actually driving cop cars. They could have made multiplayer like GTA online. I hope they still do multiplayer. Some kind of hunger games style battle royale would have been really cool and would have fit into the culture and atmosphere of Night City. Instead of kids like in Hunger Games they could have forced NPCs in major debt into it like squid game. There's a casino in the game but the player can't gamble??? What's up with that?? Even Mass Effect 3's DLC had some mini games and basic gambling. Saint's Row did it too. I know developing games is super hard but all of this stuff has been done before; it hasn't been stirred into a big melting pot the way I'm describing it and in the way that Cyberpunk could have been though. That's the shame of it all. There's a huge multitude of ideas out there for a game like this. I wonder how much the pandemic contributed to this and how much it was their lack of experience with this genre. It's crazy to me how long they'd spent working on this despite it's deplorable condition. I think the story would have been better if there was more of a big government in cahoots with major corporations type of story. There still could have been a way to fit that into V's motivation to find immortality.
I just bought it on pc after a reported 50 gb update, I figured it was time to give it a shot. I have a ryzen 3600 and a 6700 xt. here's hoping it'll be a great time :)
I have a high end PC, finished it in a week or two after the launch, I fell in love with the story. Replayed it to 100% achievements, 150 hours in, no regrets at all, loved every moment of it. Last time I played it was 6-7 months ago I think. I will jump into it again soon perhaps.
I really don't get why the game still gets so much hate! High end PC or not, the game is so great beneath the glitches! @Adore the Red Studios - You should be fine on a 6700 xt
I started a new v for and I'm absolutely loving it the game is a smooth 75 frames now on my pc setup but the actual reason for my thumbs up is all the little things that aren't mentioned in the patch notes cut content is abound pluse completely new things like dialog items balance tweaks all of witch make the overall progression through a new playthrough fill much smoother both in terms of the story and early build/grind options people just love to hate but if no mans sky and 76 can bounce back I know in my gamer hart this will still become the future skyrim we all wanted
I stayed away from this game on launch day because of all the problems I heard… I finally just bought the game 8 months later and I’m having a blast … the gameplay mechanics could use some work, melee and gunplay could be better… the game really shines with its story, music, graphics, and overall presentation. Excellent story telling…So far good game.. a little more patching will make this game of the year material for sure😁👍🏾
Currently, waiting to play it on PS5 is not worth it as the game has not had it's 'proper' next-gen update yet! If you want the best experience, then wait for that update, but I can assure you that the game is good enough to thoroughly enjoy on a 4 pro! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
Pc version : i know many had issues Since Launch ( had Some Minor bugs ) Luckily i didn’t experience those huge glitches i Saw On RU-vid as i believe hardware Matters 🧐 Cpu’s with 8 Cores or greater + at least a Rtx 2060 or better + 32 gigs of system Ram @ 1080p didn’t experience Most of these bugs / glitches , etc …. Just my Opinion & my Pc isn’t anything Special 🤔
I’ve been debating on playing this on either my razor laptop or ps4, I feel like a console should be better at handling games since that’s the whole point while a laptop doesn’t have as much space and is more for a variety of things. But it sounds like my razor might be the better option 😅
Problem with this game is despite the massive open world map it only has about 80hrs or so of content. Its a typical looter shooter that can be beaten and replayed, but its not like one of those real open world games (oblivion, skyrim, mount and blade etc) that you can keep playing indefinitely for immersion and roleplaying. This game just doesn't provide the immersion because of problems with its core mechanics
Playable? Definitely!! Won't be the smoothest playthrough by any means, but to be honest, the game gets you so immersed within its story, you can gloss over any hiccups! Grab it on sale if possible!
If you don't mind waiting then it's worth doing so! The game is however in a good enough state on PS5/xbox series so I can still strongly recommend playing now if you have been waiting a while already!
Hard to say... Assuming you have a PS5, I would go for it! My playthrough was on a PS5 and while some bugs and frame drops (only in very busy areas) will break the immersion, the game is truly worth playing! Lifepaths and decent story manipulation also mean that replayability is quite good so you can always go for round 2 after the update! That said, if you want a near perfect experience with (hopefully) insane graphics (current graphics are still good!), then waiting would be worth it. Hope this helps somewhat! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Great review, but I must say your completely wrong about melee combat. It's extremely useful once you spec into crafting and upgrade your swords and/or blunt weapons. You can 1 hit nearly every non-elite, non-boss enemy. You can do this without point many points into the sword or blunt skills. You can dominate with your fists once you get gorilla arms.
Blunt weapons especially are very OP. I tried a character that focused on blunt and crafting and I had to scrap the build because it was too powerful :D I was one shotting most enemies and even bosses like cyber psychos went down with just couple smacks. My favourite weapon type in this game is pistols. They're powerful but I don't feel like they're too OP.
I have just ordered this, arriving tomorrow. After watching this review I’m actually now looking forward to playing it even more. Would you say playing on ps5 has less glitches?
I dropped the game because it was in early access and not a full game. It worth it but after it get finished and not fixed, the game lacks massive features that are a must in open world game. Just wait for the game of the year edition with all the dlc it could be coming in next year late 2022
One thing that kills the immersion for me with shooter rpgs is the fact that enemies have zero reaction to getting shot until they die, and the physics in cyberpunk look pretty mid
0:47 the car being blocky and low polygon happens to me everytime I go through that montage u would think they catch that but oh well. It’s not that important but it’s right there u can’t miss it.
This game was a mess but I really hope they make a sequel and deliver on the promises they originally made. I was so hyped for this game for like 7 years lol. Obviously with the sequel they can just completely forget about last gen like they should have done this time
I wish they had just kept it to next gen only, I think trying to make it run on old gen hurt it, and maybe it wouldn't have been in such a bad state that it was in
I bought the game for PC when it was released, played for a while and the put it down. I guess all those quests on the map overwhelmed me lol. I just recently picked it back up and now I can't stop thinking about it! It's an amazing game and I love the world. Plus, all the characters you have a close interaction with are extremely well developed! I just love River, Panam, Jackie and of course Johnny! 👍🥰 I highly recommend it! I do agree with the car handling... I mourn the poor pedestrians I mowed over. LoL I usually just stick with bikes!
You know, I hated gamers after Cyberpunk 2077 came out. When No Man's Sky and Fallout 76 were released, gamers were critical of them. Cyberpunk 2077 was disgusting to see some gamers cheering. In particular, gamers criticized The Last of Us Part 2 and Naughty Dog, but Cyberpunk 2077 and CDPR were really disgusting to see them cheering. This is an act that makes normal people dislike gamers. If you want to know how toxic modern gamers are Watch RU-vid Gaming 'Journalism' Is SICK || EVEN STEPHENS, Why Gaming Culture is so Toxic, Videogame Discourse: More Broken Than Cyberpunk (The Jimquisition), I HATE r/gaming, REVIEW SCORES. This game looks fine wtf people complain about bugs….every game I’ve ever played I’ve encountered bugs and glitches😴put that all aside the game looks sexy
It’s not the fact that the game has glitches but rather the game was in the works for so long and was extremely oversold by CDPR, it has nothing to do with it being glitchy tbh. It’s just not nearly as good as it should have been. The game at its current state is playable and a good game at its core
Why would it be a must play? It is still plagued by all of the stuff that ruined it at launch. Even if the game had zero bugs it would still be bland, boring, and as interesting as a beautifully wrapped pizza box. Your choices have absolutely no effect 99% of the game. You are shilling.
If you are dying to play it, then go for it. If not, wait a little longer. I am hopeful that by the end of the year, it will be easy to recommend to everyone no matter their platform!
so is it a good time to play on PC? the game has been a living meme and been shitted on so much since release (even with previous patches)... i have been constantly waiting to get on it until the game was stable.... so i was wondering if patch 1.3 is a good time to buy... if anyone can give me some advice or insight would be great....
@@AverageGameReviews im not worried about frame rate..... i gotta i9 10th gen with rtx 3080 32g ram.... i just wanna know if the game is bug free now... i mean i know there should be still bugs here and there but as long as nothing breaks immersion or gameplay im gtg.... i ve been waiting too long :(
@@roksoulja84 With those specs, you should be all good - glitches are there, but not usually game breaking. If you want a perfect experience, wait longer, but if you can tolerate *some* "roughness around the edges", then this is a great game that is worth playing at least once!! Hope this helps!
@@roksoulja84 Bug free? Most definitely not. Most bugs though are similar than what you saw in the video so a little immersion braking but nothing serious.
@@based9930 actually he didnt ignore, he mentioned about all the glitches a few times, but his enjoyment of the storymode and side missions far outweigh the nascent faults. Im still playin it 7mths later also.
All they added was a couple of Jackets and a car, Oh and of course Nerfing some of the weapons like the hand cannon and pistols. Started playing it again this morning and with in the first 5 minutes, bugs from launch where still present. The story is good, but from launch your responses and replies in conversations dont have any meaning, and only effects the endings, which basically all end the same anyway. Cops turning and firing on my character, as she just walked down the street, and not currently in any side or main mission. Immersion, what little there was , have been reduced even more, now with nerfed weapons and sponge enemies. Great video, but we need less DLCs and more fixes to the game, but at least Jackie doesn't walk through the elevator door in the very first mission. XboxSX.
You are being far too kind. The video was him basically being a shill as if he had been paid to do this. The game is still boring, the story sucks, none of the core problems are being addressed at all.
@@based9930 Gee and there was me, thinking I was the only person in the Cyberpunk universe that wasn't being blinded, by 2 new jackets and a car. lolI 🤣
multiple iterations of the story seems a bit generous its basically a linear story with a small variations to the intro and different final mission and cutscene
I waited for this game for 8 years... it came out and I didn't even bother. Now even with positive reviews and updates I'm still not going to. Video games in general have become a massive disappointment. All the updated new games are worse than the original. The one x came out xbox said they weren't going to make another one for a long time. Bunch of liars and thieves. Good video though
Missing so much out. Game is better than gta or Valhalla on a good pc or new hen consoles. Didn’t meet even one game breaking bug in 60h. Usually it is 1 fun bug in like 4 hours. Just don’t use old consoles, they r old garbage.
Is it worth a play.....fuck no. The game developed for last generation consoles run like shit still, bugs are everywhere, aside fkrm some minor improvements the game is nearly still in the same broken state
Nope it's now mostly 30fps on ps4 and very close to that on base xbox one. The ps4 Pro and one x versions are 100% playable and if you play on a next gen console it looks and runs great. It's miles better than it was at launch which would drop to the teens in terms of framerate, this doesn't happen for the most part now. The pc versions performance has improved a lot and you can now run it fine on a lower end cpu which wasn't really possible at launch.
I do like the game, and the story but I do find the bugs and really poor A.I ruin my immersion during play. Fun, but god, if only the AI was less dumb. Even after multiple updates, A lot of the time enemies just stand there while you shoot them.
