I was reminded of the headless biker Celty from the anime Durarara. Which...I'm only now realizing is like a shortened version of the word "Celtic", given that the character is a dulahan, a headless mythical creature that rides a horse from Irish folklore. 2 hours gets you 100% of the glitches, 3 hours gets you 150% of the glitches

To be fair, publishers tend to say “oh those glitches will be patched out on a day one update”, which is what CDPR did to make reviewers not mention the bugs and glitches. And yes, this means that they blatantly lied to them and the public at large. Usually publishers tend not to lie about that sort of thing because well, a major PR disaster like this game received would happen

the game will never run well on the old consoles, the entire game engine runs like sh!t on a super highpowered pc if you put it on a slow hard drive. Really it has these issues with anything shy of a NVME drive. CDprojektRed never ever ever should have released this for anything but the PC, with steep warnings on that, and the ps5/Xbox series that have nvme type drives. For a laugh we tried it on an AMD FX system, albeit a cherry late sample FX locked to 4.8ghz with DDR2400 and overclocked FSB settings, and it doesn't have these blatant pop in errors/putty people thanks to being on a cheap nvme drive. 1070 is tapping out at 1440p, barely managing to occupy the cpu at 34fps on average, but it is traditionally boggy, not the former horror. The glitches are uncommon actually. TLDR; if you have it on an xbox one or ps4 of any sort; just return it or develop a thick skinned morbid sense of humour.

@@embers1224 lol. Funny thing, people keep assuming the game was in actual development since the 2012 announcement...but who knows when they actually started coding it. Whatever the case, I was disappointed with its status on release...but the core gameplay loop is fun enough (just save OFTEN).

It's not like game consoles and pc's stopped supporting old games because their version was too new to run it or the console broke down with a red ring of death or something. Nostalgic memories ^^

Agreed. An "Unpatched" series can help memorialize the shoddy state that a lot of games are released in. Then we'd just have to deal with the simps commenting that the game has been patched long ago.

Yea it was 8 years I think. How a game so long in development can come out this broken is beyond me. There's a theory about it though, apparently they restarted development a couple years ago when they added the to rockstar terrorist character (forgot his name)

Notice how Anthem was at least a little finished it took 5 years of planning and 2 years of development but this one had an extra year

My guess is that slow HDD storage is the culprit here. I played this game on a low-end machine (laptop with 8750H + 1050ti, 8GB RAM), and the game is installed in a SATA SSD. The game version was 1.03 and it ran at 30FPS avg, struggled when you move fast, at all low settings. But I never encountered the slow model/texture loading glitch.

The devs weren't the problem, the crunch and management was.

@@cleyfaye I know. My laptop is barely more powerful than PS4/XBONE and it ran on top of Windows 10 and its abstractions. Console allows for more direct hardware access so technically it should run similarly to my laptop, not worse.

@@ZX3000GT1 The console versions were more of an afterthought. They focused on PC, but made the console versions just to cash in on the large install base. Then they delayed the game, to make it run on the PS5/Xbox Series. So, while the PC version was still having issues, they not only took on PS4/Xbox One ports. But then decided that with the PS4 and Xbox One versions being a complete mess, they should also work on PS5/Series X versions.

Dude, I'm challenging myself. I'm going for platinum trophy on base ps4. Won 50 % of trophies as of yesterday. It lags, crashes, tons of tehnical issues, but i view it as a challenge.

it’s great on ps5. You just crash every once and a while.

The "fans" should have also let it cook more. It was immensely frustrating seeing how vile many of them got when delays were announced.

Goodwill wasn't paying anyone's paycheck. They sold 13 million copies (after all the refunds) in 10 days. They're happy. A little stressed maybe, but happy.

I play it fine on a x-box one S. 100+ hours. Crashed twice before 1.06, hasn't since and any bugs i noticed were not game breaking as as easy to fix as a reload.

They haven't even released the big patches yet. January and February are supposed to have updates that are bigger and smooth a lot of things out

Still releasing it in this state is insulting to many and makes the experience for the ones who do crash and bug out a pain in the ass, losing the company future customers.

You DO know it was the fans and shareholders who pushed for an early release date and it was the fans who pushed it to be on Xbox one it obviously shouldn't of been released early or be on Xbox one so don't try and blame CD Project Red
