Exactly lol. I would crap my pants if I saw a literal human double jumping in the air with blades for arms and carries a Katana, Revolver and a literal LMG
@@toomuchmilmk If you ever do another playthru, try my build!! I had so much fun with it! I used tech shotgun Throwing knife (punk knife with poison) Katana (byakko is the last one i use, for the combo OR the scalpel for the sandevistan crit bonus) I also used the projectile launcher. 20 body-20 tech 20 reflex intel 3 rest in cool. You put your points in edgerunner You get sandevistan You use the thing in your hand that when you reload next bullet will have electric damage. The perk for shotgun dismemberment The perk for the projectile launcher Perk in tech for the shotgun charge And perk in dex for more bleed and dismemberment. Basically you take all the dismemberment perk. What happen is critical hit will become dismemberment. Your throwing knife instakill if you headahot I also used kerenzikov. So basically you can just jump in, attack like a mad men, when you are done, usually, on the battlefield is pieces and bits of everyone. It was beautiful. And playing on very hard, it makes it a high octane build. Because you have to he real close and personal, dodge shit around. It feels very ninjaesque with your katana and throwing knife But when SHTF you just onliterate everything. I want to make another pkaythru just talking about it. Lol
@idrinkdiesel8451 exactly V literally says "see my implants?" I was like "oh boy did they" When I arrived I rode up in the murkman's car, slid out, used my sandy to stop and had my mantis blades out and camo on (fat fingered) I literally showed up as like a Yautja from Predator and dropped that line
It’s not quite the same thing but at 5 wanted stars the grunts have animations where they seem to be in a saving private Ryan shell shock. They’ll cower from you and also freak out once they realize MAXTAC got called in
If there ever is a sequel, one thing i wanna see is the rep/street cred mechanic fleshed out a bit. For one, no one cares/knows who you are or react to your fame outside of a handful of dialogue options. It would be neat if civilians recognized you or if enemies could be terrified something akin to Ghost of Tsushima. I mean, how neat would it be if after Nocturne Op54737463747363 You had paparazzi chasing you down like the cops and the police system? Paparazzi could even be coded as enemies so that they detected you like enemies would in stealth.
@@SyntheticShinobiHad a few NCPD Heavy gunners stop shooting and run away from me. Also quite a few lines from other units. Some of my favorites: "This sh*t ain't worth the pay" "Ey ey ey! Not good!" "No, I said NO!" "Yup, we're F*CKED!"
Lines like this make me wish Street Cred dialogue options were a thing. Sure some of them make sense with the attributes, but even if V isn’t super strong at this point he still has a lot of other ways to flex on em like he does here.
Or they'd change the line for when you have Gorilla Arms. Saying you're gonna slice them up just doesn't sound right when you're rigged for punching through concrete.
Y'know what would have been really cool? If the specific threat changed based on what chrome you're using. Cyberdeck: fry your synapses. Gorilla arms: bloody pulp Mantis blades: slice to ribbons. And so on. Make it feel like V is aware of exactly what crazy cyberware they're packing.
I agree because I did this mission again with a different build and it had gorilla arms and he said "slice you up" I'm like with what bro the molorian 💀
Yeah, sometimes the game has real Skyrim bandit npcs moments. I remember getting told by people that everyone knows my name by now and that im the best merc in the city. And then I do the corpo V background Quest and the guy not only reveals that he is the one who betrayed but also that he has no more cyberware and wants to kill you with nothing more than a pistol? Youd think that guy would have heard of my reputation by now but nope. Also reminds when I had a playthrough where I did the vodoo boys quest really late and Placide called my Implants shit when at that point I already had all purple maxed out cyberware slots.
@@DPowered2 "DROP EVERYTHING YOU GOT OR I'LL SHOOT YOU" the guy recording with a mini nuke gun and the heaviest power armor in the game: *yes rico, kaboom.*
The second I got the money, I used the apogee and maxtac blades (I use a high speed build off of melee) and made limb spaghetti. To them they must have blinked and it was over. Lore accurate V is a monster.
Not even just lore accurate V, straight-up gameplay V is insane. Case in point, you dicing up that entire squad of Scavs before anyone notices because they threatened some friends of yours. Or the simple fact that gameplay V (depending on your build) can use sandevistan basically perpetually. If you have the right cyberware and perks, and you're in a large enough room of goons your sandevistan will keep refreshing as you kill people, so you just don't stop. Unlike other Sandy users who get a brief burst of power, then need to wait, V just keeps going until they either run out of enemies to kill, or run into an enemy that takes long enough to kill that they finally run out of sandevistan charge. It's almost the opposite problem as Skyrim, where lore accurate dragonborn is insane, but gameplay-wise, you're cool, but far from some godly being (unless you use glitches), whereas in cyberpunk, lore V is definitely a top-tier merc, probably the best ever, given that they zero Adam Smasher, however, gameplay V, even ignoring the gamified aspects (pausing when opening the menu and whatnot), just based on what's explicitly meant to be happening in-universe, V is absurd. Like casually wiping out entire squads of Arasaka ninjas even BEFORE they get that much cyberware. Afterwards, the issue is the limited number of actually tough enemies (outside of smasher I guess) as V can just eliminate everyone.
@@Somerandom1922 Mods bro. Do Enemies of Night City + Night City Alive. That combo has me dying really often even on simple NCPD jobs if I don't actually use my brain to survive the firefight. Seeing 6th Street using Sandies to dodge your bullets, or a big berserking Animal charging a jump to slam you into the ground, or just a normal gangoon taking cover to heal with a MaxDoc after being wounded... Ziggy Q's complaints to Sara Krakosky become a real thing.
funny thing is that i didnt have any combat implants until i was lvl 40 cause i didnt wanna waste money on low tier implants so i just leveled until they were tier 5 so when i did this sidequest V was just bluffing
I bought or looted most of mine early and scrapped most of the weapons I looted and just had Vik upgrade them with materials. I'm rocking 5+ on every slot and working on ++ because I get so many t5 weapons to scrap.
That honestly might make it even better. V had such unwavering confidence and menace to him that even though he obviously had no combat implants, the Scavs were too afraid to test him and see if he really was bluffing.
I kinda do the same thing. I go around and do all of the NCPD side missions to stack up enough eddies to buy pretty much anything I’d want or need. By the time I'm through doing them all, I'm already sitting at Level 34 with over a million eddies to play around with. I'm pretty much packing Tier 4-5 cyberware by the time I start the “Automatic Love” quest.
And both genders of v is just oozing the f around and find out the only thing that could make this encounter better is if v mentions that she/he zeroed Adam smasher could you imagine what the npc’s reactions would be to that little bit of info
Probably an opportunity for the sequel. V is definitely a legend after downing smasher, there will be consequences of that final battle in the next game.
See, if the threat wasn’t based on Body, it’d be more realistic - considering that pretty much any V has hundreds of bodies under their belt - though it’d probably be a touch much to ask for there to be a version for body, technical ability, int, reflex and cool, so I get why they boiled it down a bit. Though I’m probably just saying that because my V has a body score of 3, so that might not help. Still stacking Scavs tho.
Yea I completely agree. I wish reputation/SC was used more for dialogue options instead of it just being used as something to let us know "check the ripperdoc"
This along with the interrogation with Woodman after killing Jotaro Shobo are prime examples of how our actions in the game should have had far reaching consequences.
You need to Finish Panams story line, and it's gonna be in Santo Domingo. I don't remember the missions name but it only shows up after you become friends with the Aldecados
It's fine. It's a Side Job so you will never find it in the Gig Section of Jobs. It's right next to another side job where you can have another decent encounter where V shows how he really is the top dog of Night City
V is Overpowered. He’s literally not lying here. Your only hope is a relic malfunction against him. It’s kind of laughable that he would need anyone’s help. Totally unnecessary to get anyone killed in the final chapter.
Not to mention in Watson he probably doesn't have half the cyberware he have in this scene and had only Jackie as reinforcement, while here he have 3 vets, probably better in a fight than Jackie...
That is one thing I wish about this game is that the name "V" actually carried more weight to it. Also, a personal annoyance I have is that intimidation is locked behind Strength. Walking forward, taking a bullet to the body, and still walking forward as intimidation? Okay, totally understand. But really I feel like most forms of pure conversation should stem from the Cool attribute. Instead what you get is Strength "I'm a fucking menace" Reflexes "You sure you wanna do this?" Cool "I'm an asshole" I stopped using the Cool option like 80% of the time because it just made my character a piece of work.
Im especially annoyed at the lack of intelligence and tech dialogue options. I feel like being a netrunner is one of the most terryfing things to encounter, you should be able to leverage that more. Even just midgame netrunner V can basically permanently immobilize some, jam their guns and fry their synapses. Seems much more intimidating to me than just punching someone real hard.
Okay, I didn't know this quest goes down like this. I went through another entrance and the Scavs aggro'd on me so I just defended myself by killing them all.
I was playing corpo and i did the same tactic it was dope making them think twice about there intentions they knew what was up and knew they would get done in
I'm with everyone else, its a badass threat, but would be nice if it changed depending on your Cyberwear. Like, if youre rocking the Projectile Launcher: "Look at my impants, i can blast you into a pile of meaty chunks and chrome before you could squeeze the trigger."
This is why you get upgrades, for real. Just having gorilla arms and high body stat I’ve straight up punked the thugs in the game and had them pissing themselves any time I show up. some of them get brave but most times I can hear how much they fear me and the reputation I’ve built as a solo. And one that may even rival smasher himself right now with the fact that I’ve made a name for V early in The game so I had access to good stuff asap and I basically came back from the dead and became the grim reaper of mercs early on. It’s a helluva lot of fun but I just got done downloading Phantom Liberty and it immediately started me right into the DLC’s story right after I got done doing queen of the highway. So I just barely got to play with the relic upgrades but so far this game is easily one of my favorites by far since they fixed it and dropped the DLC. I got the shitty ending my first play through where me and Johnny offed ourselves on the roof. But this play through has been wild as hell and this time Johnny has had little control over my stubborn ass and I’ve taken the game world by storm since I pulled a Jesus Christ move and resurrected from the dead after being taken to Vik.
I also love this side quest where some guys wanna steal a street vendor's bike and when they see you one of em's like "yo ain't that the bitch that came back from the dead? You know how many gonks she's zero'ed already?" And they just run away pissing their pants
Actually they probably would. The Scavs have connections with the Tyger Claws who work under Wakako, one of the claws could just expose a little info about V and how he/she did a job for Wakako and connect the dots
Actually, if you read the email at a computer at an auto garage where you go to recover Sandra Dorset’s data, the Scavs know Jackie was one of the mercs that hit them, and they had V’s description and were actively looking for them.
I heard somewhere that this doesn’t work if you stealth the Scav hideout. They fled because of Trauma Team so they’re not scared of you. If it’s true, then it’s really cool how failing an optional objective can have consequences later.
I couldn't threaten them because of my netrunner build, but by the time they went agro, the synapses burnout uploaded on all of them and dropped them all
I have enough RAM that I can have the loudmouth going psycho, the guy on his left sucking his own iron and the rest puking their guts out from Contagion before they have their guns out. Raven CPU with a +60% AOE spread can disable a lot of fools.
There’s another quest where a dealer talks you into a BD and…..I won’t spoil the rest but it’s something you have to find it doesn’t just stick out it REALLY brings the whole V vs the Scavs thing home lol good luck finding it.
@@pharohnintey The second time, I insisted on getting my eddies back, and that guy gave me less than half. Wanted to blast his head off then and there, but the game treated him like an ally.
I remember slicing all of them open because I didn’t like the way he was talking to me. LOL. My V was kind of a psycho, I decided. Maybe the next build Imma play a straight shooter. That seems only fair. Cheers. Edit: fixes
@@SenatorArmstrongOfficial my V likes to go close and personal with his… vict… opponents. Katana being the weapon of choice. He considers guns, especially automatic ones, weapons for weaklings. As I said, I played him as a bit of a psycho. I also put so much armor on him, I could have literally entered any situation head first and come out smelling like a rose. Cheers mate and happy gaming.
What is that? Terrifying presence perk? Oh wait, that's fallout stuff. Eh, same basic thing. Glitches and not so well synced conversations, and some funny stuff thrown in as well.
For some reason I like more female V's threats. This guy sound so cool even when you should be running for your life or pulling an iron still sounds like having a polite conversation.
Personally between someone yelling about what they're going to do to me and someone calmly telling me what they're going to do I'd find the latter to be more intimidating.
One scan of V and anyone would see all the augments and they’re basically on the level of Adam smasher so I just never get why people really try to fuck with V ahhaha. Like dude you see those mantis blades and combat implants like you don’t stand a chance.
This game is constantly punishing you if you don’t want to take a high body build. So much cool dialog and the best sniper rifle in the game, is just locked out for you if you don’t take a high body build character. For absolutely no reason. Because non of this dialogue ever mentions how big and strong you are. It’s all just look what I did in the past or look at my implants. For the rifle the dialogue is look how much I know about guns. None of this should be locked under body stats! Yet for some odd reason it is.
@@nightmaremaster7731this is late for this but if you need a higher level body for other checks gorilla arms give you 2 plus body. It’s how I ended up being able to move the dumpster for Brendan and also get the o five sniper.
I almost exclusively play female characters, but damn does male V sound WAY better than female V. Female V makes everything sound like a kid with 8th grade syndrome.
I don't like the English dubbed V tbh He sounds so neutral while making those threats, like he's reading off a teleprompter Polish V, on the other hand, both male and female sounds cold, intimidating, like they actually mean their threats.
