Oh how I wish this was the default look of the game... That said, I hate that every "photorealistic" video has basically no sun whatsoever. Why's it always gotta be cloudy and gray? Y'all need vitamin D.
i can tell ya, its cause cloudy weather creates diffused light (you can google examples of this), which create extremely soft shadows, which looks more naturalistic/realistic to us (most studio photography for example uses softer shadows rather than sharper harsher shadows), and photorealistic videos are obviously going for the most 'photorealistic' looking setting in their videos the downside obviously is that cloudy weather obviously makes everything grey as cloudy weather does
@@ultistinct as a professional photographer I can clearly say that everything you've said has no sense. Soft shadows do not look "more realistic" to us. Soft shadows look like just soft shadows, that's it. Direct sun rays create just as much "reality" as diffused sun lights. Don't talk nonsense, sir
@@user-os5tj9px1j granted, realistic was a bad choice of words, and of course I have no way to confirm it, it's just a theory, but I believe there is a correlation between the soft shadows that people generally think look nicer and why people like this look in video games (because I dont really agree that it's what makes video games look realistic, but it's what almost all of the "photorealistic mods" videos on youtube use, but yes of course, soft shadows arent the only way to make video games look realistic, but its just a trend)
This setup is probably the best to feel realistic. For example night is also often used because you have lot of reflections (more visible). Often these realistic enb or reshade looks better on more greyish colors. A full clear sun would make everything more colorful which might degrade the realistic feeling. This is honestly a good reminder of how lighting affect so much graphics.
@@MaximeBret yeah personally I dont see the realism in reflections everywhere too and in a grey overlay, I find it odd when obviously when you look outside, depending on the weather it can be extremely colourful and yet not 'unrealistic'
This looks like CG superimposed on actual real scenery like the do at Holywood. I just can't get over how fucking real this looks. Mind blown... I have a 4090, might have to try out some mods.
My jaw dropped to the floor watching the Warcraft 3 intro (2002) and I remember saying to my brother that we might live to see games looking that good in real time. Now I'm convinced we're going to reach 1:1 virtual reality with full sensory simulation within the next two decades.
@jwallace6913 no we not.Every year we are promised a breakthrough in AI and every year I see that in games it not only doesn’t change, it gets worse. Compare the artificial intelligence of the bots in FEAR to any shooter today. degradation.
Apolo 11 Lander module had a 128kb of ram and went to the Moon and back... But to run at this Res you just need a cluster of weather forecast supercomputers and 2 large hadron colliders for the fog scenes.
nah the gameplay is pointless, after Tarkov, where you feel like a real hunter, this cyberpuke doesn't excite a nerve in my system i'd have fired the VFX artist if he showed me those explosions
We are so close. Run it like that in VR with good haptic feedback, add GPT-4o to the NPCs and add some upgrades to physics and explosion and you can almost live a life in this world.
? The game looks nothing like this without using reshade + enb's, freestyle, etc. How you think UE5 is trash is beyond me, it's an extremely capable engine - and many games being released with it have a graphical fidelity far beyond what we've seen so far; it sounds like you're just regurgitating what other people are saying. UE5 can have issue like shader comp stutter, but CP2077's engine isn't without it's caveats either - and MANY people still report having issues with the game. As well, using UE5 rather than developing or continuing to develop a proprietary 'in-house' engine from scratch (a big company like CDPR will not be using 'native' UE5 and will be making several custom re-writes to make it suit their needs) saves time & money, meaning more resources can be allocated to making things bigger and better than before.
@@DaddyVader87 It seems that way, but almost anyone with access to reshade and/or freestyle, plus fiddling around with ENB's/LUTS for a while can get things looking this way.
@@JustMe-ty2rp is there a tutorial on this or a list of things you need? The fact the engine can get to this level even with mods is still pretty amazing. I'm a ue5 game dev and I am trying to get things to look this good but it's been a struggle wont lie.
I've seen several videos of this mod and my question is... this mod is Cloudy Gloomy Day all the time? Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, but it also looks like we wont see direct sunlight or the blue sky in the game ever again
Every “ULTRA GRAPHICS SHOWCASE” video just sets the weather to overcast so the game doesn’t have to render harsh shadows, which is especially insane here because Cyberpunks shadows look incredibly lifelike
When the movie ``The Matrix'' was released, it was thought that it would take time to realize virtual reality, which is indistinguishable from reality. But now it already exists.
its never going to look "real" until they can simulate emergently and within budget, the movement of things you can barely see. Like dust under something heavy and small rocks jumping, stains and odd liquids pooling, things rusted and of course the holy grail: high particle count destructible environments.
This game looks good without all the terrible HUD... Maybe I will try to give it a try once I get my 5090, as my 4090 still needs more cauldron pressure for this :P
@@krashoutmods I have tens of hours of mods and visual mods experience, thing is that I don't have patience. 3080 can run ok for a 1080p screen, but it would look bad on my 83" oled screen.
what mod ure using to achieve such visuals ? im using nova lut and its not even close to this with max settings + ultrawide qhd like u. the differences are im not using ray tracing, let alone maxed it out and pat tracing. i also use dlss quality cause im playing at 115 watts 4070 laptop. its around 45 fps but its solid stable smooth and consistent at that fps.
