exactly, i was kinda annoyed they dumbed down the perk tree like they thought that was the major issue, when it wasnt... i like the stuff they added, but thats what they should of done, they should of added to it.
@@Honed- it was a major issue and it was so much worse back then yeah, you could make some insane builds, but most of the perks were insanely boring and levelling up wasn't really rewarding
I really miss goinf out in the world to find and buy cars. It is convenient to do it from the terminal, but seeing them "for real" made the world feel even more alive.
@@OutOfTouchThursday3516 I'm sure it's still there, but the difference didn't seem as significant to me when I gunslung my way through phantom liberty (👻 🗽?). Compared to, say, patch 1.6 where it would devastate dudes hiding around corners 😊
Dude, so many things cut. That free roam map camera looked amazing! Hover legs, YES! There were definitely some good things from back then that I'd love to see added back in. Great vid.
I remember the joys of rerolling all of the loot, collecting early legendary quickhacks, annihilating entire buildings with one contagion, and all the crazy silenced overture shenanigans. I didn't even know Sandevistan could take mods...I was so into the netrunner builds with the builds being so diverse.
24:50 The sandevistans on old patches read as slows time "to" rather than "by." The qiant actually slows time down by 75%. Also, with 3 legendary heatsinks then it would have a cooldown of 3 seconds, which made it extremely strong
I can appreciate the brokeness of 1.3 as someone who did their first playthrough on it, but tbh patch 2.0 literally improved on everything I cared about haha. Streamlining the armor system to be based around your chrome instead of armadillos, making hacking less insane with infinite wallhacks, making you invincible in finishers and letting you deflect bullets and stuff. I dont think I could ever go back. I still think its kinda funny that you STILL have to max Technical on every character haha, some things truly didnt change. EDIT: Personally I also really love removing most passive number perks from the game (30% crit damage with pistols) and such. To me its much more fun when every perk provides you with tangible gameplay options. I also enjoy not having to hyperspecialize in one single weapon type, instead being able to use a few different groups of weapons now (revolvers, snipers precision rifles on the same character).
@@abrahamsandwich Yeah I would really love to get like silenced revolvers as one of those iconic texts. Right now it exists in Mancinella only, and while thats fun enough to get funny big stealth revolver headshots again, it would be fun to have more than one option for silenced revolvers.
Really nostalgic to see all this again. I'd forgotten a lot of it. While I do think 2.0 is a better game, I definitely miss some of the crazy stuff you could do back in the earlier days. The weapon and build variety was great.
I agree 1.3 was good ol times. To be honest though. I did not even go in as much detail about it ( some of the things he mentiones i did not know) because 1.3 was one of the patches where you could equip tranquilizer on projectile launch system and AOE one hit everything but a boss.
Dude this brings back memories. Silenced overture, Conrad’s Hammer, or any tech weapon tbh. AHHH AND NETRUNNING. Contagion and non stop suicides that spread T_T
I first started playing CyberPunk on patch 1.35, there's definitely a lot of things I miss about the old perk and gear system. That being said, the 2.0 patch was an overall improvement for sure.
I started watching it like ´ok i will watch ot for 10 minutes, give the guy some credit and move on´ i just sat trough the whole video without even noticing. Also i am glad that i am not the only one who prefered Cyberpunk before all the patches. Well done man, good job
The free cam in the map screen being removed suckkkeeddd. Sure, no one notices it, but there's a lot of detail of the map. Reminds me of Watch Dogs, that had the same feature in a beta build was removed in the final. I think there's a mod that brings it back but not sure.
I miss the old perk systems, level-locked gear, breach and crafting levels. I didnt play much of cyberpunk in ant version pre 2.0, i got into the game i think 3 weeks before the dlc was due to launch but the old perk trees were way more fun to get involved with.
I still have my Cyberpunk disc from initial release before 1.3. I still play it, bugs and all, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Plus, the glitches are hilarious.
I played the game a huge majority on 1.5 when the next gen update came out for console, so much of the features you show off were honestly incredible and I don't remember the skill tree looking even remotely like that did that change in 1.5 and the armadillo mod omg I remember farming for hours and hours on my first playthrough for one
I remember playing on launch day, getting softlocked on the helicopter during the first flashback and not playing the game again until 1.3, so technically 1.3 is the first patch that i actually enjoyed. Mannn the clothing mods were absolutely broken, you pretty much create your build based off those, idk why but this video made me feel so nostalgic. And I'm glad i got to enjoy patch 1.3 to the fullest
This is the version of the game I played the most. I made it through about 70% of the game before I dropped it for other new games and life stuff, and then by the time I came back again it had been updated further. The game was harder back then in general. You had to be more dedicated to a build, and thus your character and the items you got mattered a bit more for each singular playthrough.
I still dont like the progression system for guns in 2.0 It is kinda goofy to after certain lvl just collect legendary weapons like it is some trash to recycle... And i also miss the clothes with stats, now you have like... 7 clothes that give you some bonuses?
I played a little back in the day around release. I had gotten to the point where i had to call Takemura to initiate the parade mission. But then i put the game on hiatus until 2.0. It's really interesting too see how different the game was back It seems like they've overall improved the game but have also gotten rid of some good stuff.
There's something majestic about and old classic mustang in NC also good memories with Suppressed Overture 👌🏼 not to mention Lizzie and Comrads hammer miss old 2077 thank god I have it on Ps4 1.6 I think Lizzie was nerf 1.6 (correct me if wrong) thank you for this video mate nostalgia moments ❤️
I was one of those who didn't try this game in earnest until 2.0. I am not a huge gamer, actually first tried Cyberpunk in the very beginning, but don't even remember playing it beyond getting to V's apartment for the first time after the first mission, so don't really count it. When the hype of PL started, I decided to give it another try, as it caught me at a rare time when I was looking for a game to play, and I am really glad I did, it quickly became one of my all-time favorites.
I played a lot of Phantom Liberty but I had well over 400 hours during 1.3 and just after launch. Obviously I enjoyed the game a lot but there is good reason that not many played it then. I doubt I would have done so if I wasn't super lucky at launch and avoided basically any real performance issues and game breaking glitches. I kinda miss the bug where you could use the Kerenzikov to dash many times in a row during slowmotion and get super speed.
I had a build for the old perk system that use high body and handguns. I would kill the first target as quickly as possible, pick them up, and use them as a human shield to reduce incoming damage. Felt like some sort of brutal action hero
My first playthrough was on the patch 6 months or so before phantom liberty came out, so i got the entire experience of the old skill tree and the clunky ass melee combat. I think 2.0 made the game a lot cleaner feeling, and removing the armor system from the clothes was a lifesaver. My first V had the ugliest outfit possible because of just how strong the armor on it all was
OMG I just remembered the legendary Monowire you could get like 2 minutes of driving after the lifepath intro. I had so much fun destroying the game back in the day.
iirc older patches gave bosses damage "checkpoints" that prevented one shots, with adam smasher having I think 3 checkpoints? Most bosses having just 1 checkpoint so even if you were to deal 83 million damage (the highest I've ever achieved on a boss) it'd only deal damage up to that checkpoint
31:15 The bridge to the chorus just needs some layered percussion. Maybe soft/jazzy high hats on the off beats, last 2 bars add crashes on beats 3, 1, 3, 4. Probably add some random fun drum fill?
Last gen consoles are capped at update 1.6.1 and will never receive any more updates or access to phantom liberty, the 2.0 stuff and PL is current gen only And I actually love it.
In my latest playthrough I have become an unstoppable force. I’m so powerful MaxTac can’t even put a dent in my health. I’m pretty much 2nd to smasher plus I’m running around with his rocket launcher melting brains with my blackwall and other quick hacks.
For synosure. Having the stomp be ever present but turned down to be a background would be good for the “chorus” just feels kinda hollow if that makes sense right bow
Now I want a mod that reimplements the old perk tree that exists in parallel with the current one. And I kinda want the old crafting and mods back too.
I played a lot during 1.3, this was at the tail end of / after my first playthrough and it's when i really started to see the cracks in the early builds of the game
5:24 thats what i tought when i started to play old patches. we need modding cyberware and iconic weapons back and need some richochet buff at least imo
The comrades hammer is still OP as fuck in the most recent patch. Especially with the cyberware that adds a ton of shock damage to the last round out of each gun (Idk what its called)
I had a netrunner that never had to leave the car to wipe a building, and an unlimited sandevistan build as my top 2. Playing after 2.0 they’re soooo weak lmao
I absolutely love this game and have beaten it multiple times since its release, I still haven't beaten the updated Adam smasher though because I beat the dlc and platinumed the game three days before they updated the boss fight.
a big thing i miss from before 2.0 was the sandevistan that you could get down to like a 3 second cooldown with mods and just run through entire bases and exterminate everyone before anyone could realize what was happening. even within the bounds of the game you could do way crazier and way cooler stuff before 2.0 than after, and if you wanted to you could bend the game in insanely broken ways with glitches and oversights. tbh i just haven't played nearly as much after 2.0 since they "fixed" a ton of stuff yet some of the things that were still broken were things that i don't get how they were even still standing. they took out so much of the fun stuff in the balancing of the game, even just looking through the 2.0 perks they were so bland that i didn't feel enticed by anything. maybe i'll give 2.0 another shot, since i've heard decent things about the dlc and could reasonably pick it up now. i'd be interested to see if the time since last playing has made the changes taste any less sour for me.
Got cyberpunk after I watched edge runners and man the game was broken but it is still my third most played game of all time one of the most detailed games ive ever played Recently started watching your vids love your content keep it up dude ❤
@5:25 Completely agree. I miss the old perks system, for one. I miss the old crafting system. And the old armor/ clothing system. Clothing is pretty much useless now. On top of the fact that, from an NPC interaction standpoint, they never implemented any type of actual interaction regarding fashion. Style was supposed to have a major impact on how NPCs treated you, that was like, a HUGE selling point of the gameplay, and it was never anything more than, oh that looks cool on my character menu screen... (yawn)
Dude I remember in a early patch I made my katana do insane damage by upgrading it a ton then a patch came out I forgot which patch but it made is so I had to be a certain level to equip it that made me kinda mad when it happened(it’s understandable why though the katana was broken)
24:48 im suprised nobody in chat corrected you and this. In this patch the descriptions say they slow time TO a value, not BY a value. The purple would slow time by 50% and the orange would by 75%. The wording for this is way better in 2.0 IMO.
i think 1.3 was my most played game version too, feels so different to what we have now. i had a favorite build with super high physical damage resistance and a buffed cleaver weapon i'd just run around and bonk people on the head with it and one-shot nearly any normal enemy. when the mod slot rebalance came it completely removed the ability for that build to work anymore, was so sad. what i don't miss about old patches of cyberpunk was stepping off a ledge and getting accelerated at 800mph into the ground and instantly dying, anyone else remember that bug? or the infinite money glitch by deconstructing cans from soda machines into scrap? fun times.
Managed to do full play throughs of every major update, and though I ultimately think 2.0 is objectively the best, and there really isn’t anything it does wrong comparatively to the previous versions I do still miss some of the chaos of the older versions. Probably my favorite one was being able to scrap drinks for common components during the launch. It really helped the at the time problem of not finding enough components while also being really funny to visualize V just emptying a vending machine just to turn the tin of the cans into a gun. Also wish every piece of clothing could be useful instead of just the head, face, and jacket. Still every gripe I have with 2.0 is just me having lived through the older versions and gotten use to their quirks.
I remember having a pistol build that hit for over 10k headshot dmg and 25k from stealth. The four slots on each armor peice were filled with heashot and crit buffs.
I love this patch so much. I really miss the pre 2.0 rework of the perks. It felt like you had some actual improvement in your skills compared to 2.0 where some of them feel like they do almost nothing.
I only miss the old breach protocol tbh. It's actually just so much better than the new system. If imma be honest I think just the old skill tree was usually better in most cases.
I head such cool build's on 1.3... a really cool mantis / blades / throwing stealth build on my female corpo... my nomad was all heavy with the rocket arms, and I head David now come to think of it I kinda made the cast even bevor the anime
For your song the intro is SICK, but i feel like it builds to a more phonk house drop....so maybe on the chorus change the drums to double time to get that house beat with a more full and punchy kick and maybe add an open hat from the start of the drop throughout to give it some high end and energy and i think that will make it hit the way youre hoping for
They got rid of basically everything I liked from old patch. Skills felt so much cooler. Breach protocol was so nice. Upgrading every weapon. Everything they changed honestly took a lot of the character out of the game.
4:12 still miss cold blood in current patch but the aim for slow time is cool so for me i like the new system and stuff but cold blood will have been so cool to keep (kinda like borderlands "Kill Skill" builds from charactors like zane and lots from BL2 and even pre and tiny tina has it and BL1 has some)
I've had the game since 1.0, but I didn't really start playing until 1.3. I miss the suppressed Overture especially. Oh, and the old Dying Night is so much better. Also Also Breach Protocall, gone but not forgotten.
started in like 1.6 and good god the skills were such a pain in the ass to grind out I hardly ever maxed stats back then (unless they were the easy ones)
I was lucky enough to have Cyberpunk before the huge 2.0 over haul. I was able to play old school Cyberpunk before new. I was going for a melee build and miss the stacks of cold blood. 😩
I'm still mad at how bad they nerfed Lizzie. You could literally shoot it as fast as you could click. Also I wholeheartedly miss Cold Blood because it was such a sleeper skill.
@@abrahamsandwich Yep, I didn't realize how good it was when I started my first save until I actually started reading some of the perks. Needless to say it really enhanced my pistol hacking stealth whatever build I was trying to go for back then lol.
