Cybertruck Full Self Driving Almost Hits Tree

Tesla Cybertruck FSD autopilot enters a difficult parking lot without clear painted lines and gets confused as to which way to go. I had to disengage and take over as it was going straight into a tree. I received the update 2024.32.20 with FSD v12.5.5 this morning on Oct 1, 2024. In my first attempt using FSD (this video) it is clear that FSD became confused and got in a loop going left then right then left. I kind of wish I would had let it play out to see if it would have disengaged automatically but it's not like I'm WhistlinDiesel here as I don't make money on RU-vid videos.
In all fairness this is an extremly difficult parking lot to navigate due to it's faded lines and confusing intersections. Looking forward to using this parking lot as a stress test for FSD. Please subscribe if you want to see additional Cybertruck videos.

It's great that all these Cybertruck owners are posting these videos. When their trucks on FSD start causing accidents, it will make it easier for attorneys to prove that the owners knew FSD was dangerous.

"this parking lot is not good" yes because that scary tree jumped out of nowhere, wonder what it does when something actually jumps out of nowhere...

Almost!! Because it was looking BACKWARD :D I can't sit like that at more than 10 MPH speed hoping that a robot would be cleaver than me. Maybe Future would be different, but not right now!

Well I think I explained it pretty well in the description. Don’t get me wrong this technology is very impressive. Parking lots that are unmarked are difficult which I can understand

FSD sucks in parking lots. Streets and mapped roads it does amazing. Parking lots I think too many variables for it to know what to do

I agree! It drove me from the Keys to Miami today for 1.5 hours and I never had to take over. Lots of traffic too

Why are there videos of ct's driving the wrong way, not stopping on roundabouts, not slowing down on school zones, almost hitting other cars on the freeway while trying to pass?

I believe that it probably would have stopped. However the steering was jerking left and right like it couldn’t decide what to do

@@johngrade9817 not really, almost hitting something doesn't actually imply a possibility of hitting that thing. find something else to whine about, the title is perfectly accurate, describes what happened. almost hit the tree.

@@johngrade9817 Why? It almost hit a tree. Almost means it did not hit a tree. In fact if you watch what happened closely it entered some kind of loop going left and right as if it couldn’t decide which way to go. I had to take over as it was clearly confused and yes there was a tree that had it continued going straight or in the left/right loop forward motion it would have hit. I imagine it would have aborted at some point but I didn’t want to risk it. I don’t make money off of RU-vid videos lol. It just took me through downtown Miami without issue. Never had to intervene at all. Parking lots with faded markings is not easy. Honestly that parking lot is confusing for most people.

It’s the truck talking yes. The navigation also sometimes tells you what it’s doing as far as driving decisions go as well.

No I didn't report it but wish I did. I just learned about that feature of tapping the microphone after something happens. Is there a way to report it later in the day or does it have to be right after the incident?
