Yeah mate hope it heals. I've been reading about it. I started having weird pain in my left upper thigh just below hip on the outer side, I'm not sure if it's arteries, muscle or ligaments. It's a very sharp pain that I get when doing harder effort. I'm hoping it's not that though, not artery. Although not sure what's worse. It was actually going away, at least it seemed to have subsided, but after the 24 hrs effort on new years eve it's back again now.

Ah yeah, the area also tends to go numb, so indeed it might have to do with nerves.

Hi Paul, Sorry to hear about your "condition" but glad things seems to getting better. As I've been suffering from EIAE for a few years myself (not even a cyclist...) it is good news that you've experienced progression. You've quit coffee, but I suppose this is not the only cause to your improvement? Would be great to hear more on how you've tackled IAE. Thanks Julia

You should def. go vegan as that helps a lot to prevent and reverse disease across the board and yeah quit coffee. Hope that helps and you heal up.

Hey! Love you channel Paul! My brother is 17 years old and wants to be a pro. And im trying to coach and help him. Sems like youre the right person to take advice from :D So i was wondering whats your best advice for young athletes. He is a sprinter/tt rider, 80 kg 191cm, been riding about 1 year. His training right now is 3 weeks on with the second week harder then the first and thirdweek harder then the second. Every week consists of 1 sprint workout 10 20 second sprints with 3-5 min brake, 1 intervall workout (5-6 x 10 min 5-6min brake) The rest of the training is zone 1. training 8-16 hours a week. How can we improve his training? Appreciate your work man:)

Hi vanz many wishes that you recover from it. I have recently been noticing about this issue where my leg goes numb and/or I feel tingling numbness on my feet when not riding at all. I think I felt this issue first while riding indoors at tempo where I felt I pressed something. The pain/tingling felt in scrotum and buttocks. Then all subdued and tingling and pin type sensations remained in my foot. But whenever I bike ride or exert activity, I feel left leg going out of power or weakness... Once home, the sensation remains chronic but in much less intensity as compared to when I'm biking. I don't know weather this is a nerve issue or the artery issue? I also feel my left arm with tingling etc. Really confused what's going on. Doing physio helps relieve but till the point I don't ride or exert anything. Who can tell me if this issue is nerve related or artery related ?

maybe you got a heartrate monitor too for strava? or dont you use HR?

I wasn't aware of the condition until yesterday. Just saw a guy called Rhys Gillet on cyclingmaven's vlog describing this condition and showing his massive scar. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UVAGgRaS62k.html from about 2:30 - 3:30 . Good to know there are potentially other options than major surgery.
