I hope you enjoy this first video of my cycle tour around the notorious North Coast 500 route, up in the very north of Scotland. If you want notifications of the following videos, please click the “Subscribe “ button, and click the thumbs-up button if you liked it. Thank you.
Mick, your first stop was river Conon. How do I know? I crashed my car straight across the river from your tent on Friday the thirteenth of April, 1973. Won't forget that in a hurry
Hi Mick, seeing that left turn to the start of the Ba' climb sent shivers down my spine and off to my fridge to get a beer to watch you get down to Applecross. Those who have done it with a loaded bike will remember it well - and those hairpins near the top, not easy at all. The reward of course is the downhill after to Applecross. Looking forward to each episode as they come on. Slainte, Mick 👊👏👏
Hi . Thanks for your comment. I did have a Garmin device with the NC500 route on it. But to be honest, I didn't use it, or need it, as the route is well sign posted. 👍
Hi mick loved watching this adventure stunning can I ask what model of genesis bike are you using ? definitely looks a hardy steed thanks for sharing stay safe...colin 🚴♂️🏴👍🏻☀️🏕🔥
Hi Colin, thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the videos. My bike is a Genises Tour De Fer 30. Is is a steel frame bike, so quite heavy, especially when loaded up 🥵. But it's never let me down. 👍
Hi Carl. It is a lovely route to cycle. But I believe it gets busy during the summer months. That is why I went in May. Wild camping is good, can always find a place to set up the tent. Food purchase is something you may need tobe away of, get supplies when you can. Apart from that, just take your time and enjoy it. And all the very best.
Hi. I did bring a cable bike lick, but only used it a couple of times when at a coffee shop. Bike was secure at the wild camping and I was never worried about it. 👍
