As the son of two alcoholic parents and eventually a child of the foster care system, Cliff decided to leave home at 16 where he ran headlong into the demon of addiction. Nearly twenty years ago, he hit rock bottom but found a way to crawl out of the darkness. Through cycling, he has found a way to distance himself from his troubled past, stay clean, and help others find out that life is better on a bike.
A tangled interplay of genetic, biological, personality and environmental factors causes mental illnesses. This growing epidemic will directly or indirectly affect every Canadian at some point in their lives. MOVE brings us inside the life of Canadians across ages, genders, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds living with mental illnesses who have found ways to “self-medicate” and find some light through the discovery of exercise and human movement.
In MOVE, EPISODE 4, Cliff finds a light to guide him from the whirlpool of addiction through cycling.

Well done. We all have our demons. You had the strength to 'overcome ' your difficulties. Well done. I agree, the pedalling is therapeutic and meditative. I wish you all the best.
