I like that at least this show portrayed cyclops optic blast as being just pure concussive force instead of heat oriented lasers. Most media that he’s in all make his eyes like standard laser vision, when in the comics it really is just concussive force.
Fun fact: you can't stop Cyclops from using his concussive blasts by preventing him from touching his visor. He has an alternate trigger in his gloves and can fire just fine without touching the button on his visor.
@@mr.Sdotanthony It was explained a very long time ago in the comics. I couldn't tell you where the description is exactly: my introduction to X-Men was the compilation volumes, highly inexpensive black-and-white reprints of the original comics, and those are very thick. Each volume had a massive number of comics in them, and I have four of those volumes (the first four, not sure if they made more).
@@mr.SdotanthonyYep. And the main reason he uses the visor button over the glove control is the glove control just opens the visor. It doesn't allow him to control the beam length or intensity like the visor does.
@@abominablesnowman64 A douche? Why cause he doesn't take any of Logan's shit like most so-called X-fans, please. He's a leader, that's mean making hard decisions, even if they piss people off.
Finally someone else said it . The early 2000's stayed on wolverines dick because he was the most popular at the time and as a result slandered the fuck out of Scott any chance they got as if wolverine himself isn't a shitty person most of the time
Not exactly, I'm a huge Cyclops fan and I liked this version much more than the one in the movies, here he's an actual character, and sure he's a bit of a dickhead but there's a lot of explanation for it between the flashbacks and Jean going missing
@@Pongus_420tbh, I’m more of an Evolution Cyclops fan. He’s more of a leader there and there’s no crappy love feud for Jean since Logan plays a mentor role for the two. Plus even though he still cares for Jean he’s not trying to be obsessed over her.
@@EmptyMan000 I’m a writer. I mean I can make a better scenario of cyclops using his powers in a more unique resourceful fashion ; developers these days make cyclops use his powers in just simple but lame way. Eye rings
So like in this series we're Scott and Logan's personalities and roles twitched or something? Cause from what i understand Scott is usually the leader and Logan the grumpy lancer.
Yeah, apparently this was made during the production of the god awful Origins movie so execs wanted the show to be based the fox version of the characters. At least in their roles.
I swear x men evolution is the only good version of cyclops like every other show he's always angsty, depressed and always screaming jean. Evolution is the only show where he had a likeable personality
In most instances he has unresolved emotional trauma and yeah they do tend to focus on that period of his life a lot but it's a big period of his life as a character so whenever they're establishing Cyclops they do tend to show that version of him
Is it weird that this is one of my favorite versions of cyclops. I mean personality wise he isnt the best, but in terms of style and power, he is one of my favorites.
Had there been a s2 then apart from the age of apocalypse we would've seen some cameos of other marvel characters as well in an effort to connect it with EMH. There was going to be an episode where Fury would've once again called Wolverine to do a mission and this time he would've been accompanied by Black Widow and Hawkeye. Also we would've seen Hank McCoy visit fellow biologist and namesake Hank Pym. We would've also see the likes of Deadpool, X-23 returning, and Kestrel as well in the weapon X episode. Legacy virus would've been featured too. Along with Avalon the new Genosha. Best of all s2 was gonna have Cyclops and Storm go back to being the leaders.
Cyclops’ Costume Design and Character Design is one of The Best Costumes that Cyclops has Worn since the First Appearances of the X-Men and The Brotherhood of mutants
Yall cant handle when a depressed person acts out in ways not consistent with their character. Scott was going through the worst time of his life in this show, of course his personal standards lapsed, abd that prompted wolverine to step up while Scott was dealing (poorly) with the death of multiple loved ones
The writers didn't "hate" Scott, in fact this is one of the more nuanced and interesting portrayals of a character who was one note for a long time. A similar arc was also going in the comics at this same time. I'm begging you all to engage with your media with a little bit more intellectual honesty and not just shut off story ideas that don't immediately match your expectations
It's more the fact that they do not get the core of Cyclops's character. This is a man who punches holes through mountains every time he opens his eyes. He has basically practised absolute self control for years out of fear of hurting others. Because of this Cyclops is highly militaristic and controlled, and when things go wrong or he's depressed, he's the type of man who'd lean harder into controlling himself. Depressed Cyclops in comics stops believing in Xavier's dream, focuses on mutant security and survival above everything, even wanting to use the phoenix force, the thing responsible for the love of his wife's death, to bring back mutant kind. He's still Cyclops, but without hope. This is a complete 180 for his character. Him giving up being an x man for while, him going off on side quests and willy nillu blasting everyone and putting them all in danger, would basically be like Magneto siding with humans against mutants
His colorless costume from any comics or adaptations I'm not aware of? It was weird seeing him like this! Any else with me? Also does Nolan North destined to play comicbook grumps?
I think the costume was designed for only this series. someone online explained it from their pov, basically saying that Scott didn’t feel comfortable as an X-Man again so he wore the trench coat over the traditional (old) uniform (and we saw him throughout the show going through depression).
@@KiidScenesIs it a literal old uniform that lost it's color and such or just something simular to signify his detachment. Would've been cool if the show treated the characters somewhat equally not just the title one! The Xmen being a team is their greatest asset in terms of what range and lessons could be delivered to an audience. What does wolverine's life and struggles teach is about,"life sucks"? Owen Wilson impression:-"Wow"!
@@erikbihari3625 I actually don’t have a problem with not having a colored uniform since the season was dark and their future was basically ruined 💀. plus, they all had fantastic costume concepts for season 2, but unfortunately it got cancelled 🤧
@@KiidScenesSpectacular Spiderman,Teen Titans,Sonic The Hedgehog,Killing Joke original printing,Invader Zim,Motor City,Tron, what do they all have in common?
I know Scott was portrayed more careless, aggressive, and depressed in this show, but this Scott has been through every ringer, and is simply done with holding back or showing restraint. This is the first show that ever convinced me to take Cyclops seriously, and consider him an actual threat. This show’s depiction of his power is terrifying.
Him blowing up the car pissed me off it wasn’t that it was collateral like someone got thrown or whole car got thrown but he just straight poofed the car annoyed me
