I really thought they were going to breakup after they did the "Psychic affair" plotline with Madelyn swapped in for Emma. But instead they've come through the season stronger than ever.
And I hope they stay a couple this time, and not have Emma Frost and her sticky fingers ruining their relationship. But sadly, Superhero comics don't like when their hero's are happy married together.
@@rachetmarvel931 tbh, ending of Episode 10 teased us with an upcoming screen adaptation of one of the best short stories about Scott and Jean. I really hope we will finally see it in next season
They're not really there, it's a psychic projection, so maybe it's just Jean using crazy telepathy to show Scott's eyes. But Phoenix or no Phoenix, she can do this in the comics.
0:41 Why is no one talking about this part! The fact Cable is pissed that he had to grow up in a destroyed world hearing stories of how his parents fought so even a fraction of mutants could have a future, hes pissed because he should've been apart of those stories but do to circumstances he never was able. It's so good.
You'll find out in the next season that, he, in fact, did grow up with his parents. Get yourself a copy of The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix. You'll get the gist of what'll happen in season 2.
"Nathan, I've always swore I'd never repeat my father's mistake." "What mistake?" "Not saying goodbye. The day you were born, your mother told me you had my eyes." "They're good eyes." "And now, they're yours... I love you, Son" God, I'm crying.
@@farisgeekworld It really got me, man. The way he said those lines. Him recognising his mistakes and be the father Nathan deserves. I really wish that all fathers are the same as Scott. Man, I really love this show so much.
This really is a heartwarming moment. But I just have to praise the writer's and showrunner for their portrayal of cyclops. He might be a flawed character, but he really is a good man at the end of the day.
The Cable/Scott/Jean dynamic was one of the highlights of this entire season. So glad they got to spend time developing their relationship, as it was pretty much ignored in the OG series.
Just finished this episode and I have to say. This is the Best thing Marvel produced in 20 years. Anyone who calls this show mid, is hating on it for no reason.
@@SupportGamin2024 to reboot means to start something back up, which is what this show did. it brought back the original xmen 97 with a fresh coat of paint
Ehh, not really. Mainly because the comics still recognized Cable as a man with a history and baggage of his own, and that he would be distant because of all the years he's been fighting. Remember that Cable was old enough to father an adult son and had to lose him twice. He was more of a momma's boy here, whose character was basically reduced to "muh mom". It worked for the story they were telling, but it wasn't as believable. Both are good for different reasons. 97 opts for the feels while the comic opted for more bittersweet and a slow burn. Also, I recommend the Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix if you loved this dynamic.
@@ApexGalethis isn’t a reboot, it’s a continuation of the original. A reboot would be a retelling, but with a new art direction and wildly different but familiar character design. Like Ben 10
This scene is amazing. And I’m usually not really sensitive w Father-son conversation but this Scott alongside our beloved Jean. She brings peace, love and harmony. Scott is def one of the best leader of the marvel universe and this show gave him JUSTICE
They didn't have to go so hard. I was expecting a nostalgia driven narrative. Storm summoning some lightning while speaking in caps lock, Wolverine to drop sone one-liners, Morph to pop out some cameos, Jean to faint a few times and a cute little finale where they fight apocalypse. They really understood the assignment
From a fairly new X-Men comic reader’s perspective, this show made me understand why so many aspects of these characters are beloved. Scott and Jean. Gambit and Rogue. Magneto. Nightcrawler. Incredible.
Everything about this scene was so heartbreaking. And the score? It gives me chills. I really really really hope they’ll release the entire score because it is beautiful
X-Men '97 Se02 will consist of two story arcs, each to be based on the comic books miniseries; The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix and X-men: The Rise of Apocalypse respectively.
Adding in a dash of emotion to a tense action sequence brought home just how AWESOME this series was. X-Men at its finest here, people. Let's hope the MCU can give us more in the form of quality movies.
I almost burst into tears. Never felt like that with a marvel project since Toby’s Spiderman movies and also some movies in the infinity saga. As well as some CW shows. MCU take notes from this show and improve your projects with good writing and bring in human emotions and depth to your characters. It is almost like this scene is a lesson for those who have loved ones and family issues. It is not too late reunite and amend your ways. The music in the background near the end though 😢
If bastion took away the techno virus from Cable's body, this means that he should be able to use his powers without any limitations: Cable constantly used telekinesis to keep the virus confined to his arm, avoiding it to spread. But now it's gone.
Exactly If Bastion cured Cable of the techno organic virus he would have full access to his mutant abilities and would become Nate Grey were he is almost a God.
The thing about Jean remarking that scott eyes are "good ones" is that she is the only person who actually can look scott in eye without dying. Its very close and intimate saying that his son have his eyes.
Now I wanna see Scott and Jean bond with Young Nathan on Season 2 now that they’re in the future Their reunion with Adult Nathan is gonna be heartbreaking afterwards
I actually think the biggest heartbreaking moment is when all of them learn about Mother Askani being Rachel Summers as none of them know who she is right now but she definitely knows who they all are. If they do it right her storyline would be absolutely tragic and amazing. The Summers story has definitely been a highlight of this show and there's still plenty more to come.
I dk why but Cable sort of reminds me of Guts. Despite the missing arm, jacked up eye, and tragic backstory of nearly everyone around him dying, this at least gives him a glimpse of the supportive parents he would have had 😢😢😢 Looks like the next season’s gonna bring us the “Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix” storyline, where they actually get to spend a bit more time in Nate’s life
The live action movies does nothing for me but yet the X-Men 90’s and 97 animation brought tears to my eyes. The writers of this series truly deserve an EMMY! This goodbye scene is truly touching, it shows that words even in animation can make you cry when written so beautifully.
So, what I’m getting for this is he was saying that Madeline was his mother not Jean, but when he heard the stories about Jean and Cyclops he all of a sudden wanted to be a part of Jean’s little family adventures?!? Because in the future he would know that they were different people even though she was just stolen DNA from Jean
1 of the rare moments we see Nathan Grey act like the son of Scott and Jean. Most of the time hes cable, the hardass insanely powerful psychic trying not to become a robot lol
Future man lives in the past with his heart on his sleeve. Cable family is vital to the future world of what may come. Cyclops and his family history are complicated by the fabric of timelines and his and Jean's involvement and the lines converge with the influence of the mysterious Mr Sinister and his so-called master Apocalypse and possibly the Phoenix Forse and someone else, Kang The Conquer who is connected to Apocalypse. Time Of Future Ever-present. I also believe the Fantastic 4 may be considered a connection to the Summers' lives and their son and daughter are partly related to future Cable Destiny's. Cable and Franklin Richards are so similar and they share almost similar powers there's Rachel Summers as well. Three powerful children of two families one family born of mutants and the other mutated by cosmic radiation. But maybe these families were destined to be united and connected for the future?
Xmen 97 has been so good. This scene was absolutely fantastic. Hoping s2 will be just as good. So far everything has been executed beautifully. This episode also had such lovely emotion shown, you could really feel it.
Hercules/Cable: Well why did you send me away? Didn’t you want me? Zeus/Cyclops: (voice breaking) Of course, your mother and I loved you with all our hearts. But someone stole you from us…
Hope Summers could technically still be born later on, it’s just that this series takes places during the late 90’s so she obviously isn’t born yet (also hasn’t faced nearly the same events as the comics)
