The main fans are still going to buy it and people who try it out are going to play and buy it if they REALLY like it. Its better than not giving them a chance to try the game

Nah you're absolutely right. When they put DNF Duel's graphics next to GGST, when comparing things like golden trickets, DNF had a pinch higher quality due to coming out a little later. This game with t's graphics update likely carries that same quality, plus it has a gorgeous aesthetic regardless! I grew up with GG so it's close to my heart, but I honestly think this one has the coolest aesthetic and atmosphere if it's 2.5D artstyle. Super excited to play NieR too! I'm a sucker for creepy duo characters like Zato-1, Enchantress, LoL's Vex (my pfp), Annie, SG'S Annie, ect. Super smart strategy to rotate the other 3 characters in the free2play version as well. Means if a pal is interested in someone you can tell them to hop on.
I'm definitely going with the free edition to test things out for now. I've stayed away from Granblue for the longest time because of the lack of rollback, and now it's finally getting it, so I get to play it.
F2P with paid DLC, costumes, colors, levels, etc would make more money in the long run. I think it will happen eventually. Maybe not GBVSR, but soon enough.
The f2p version worked great for DoA 5, and I think KI had a similar thing? Great to see more games doing this. Also I bought base GBVS on sale cause it was $3. I could've spent a little extra on either the full edition with the character passes, or just the characters I was interested in, but the base roster was interesting enough and if I want the other characters I'll just pick Rising up on sale
Is it known if Rising will have all the cosmetics and titles? As in, the stuff from the battle passes (weapon skins, colors, etc) they started implementing around S2.
It had been mentioned that anything you had already unlocked in Versus will be transferred to Rising, including stats, things from arcade mode and rewards from the events. Now, if you mean limited things the first game had and want to know if they will be available again assuming you didn't got them... that I can't say
The only version right now is the original game, GBVS which is considered a separate product. When GBVS:Rising releases can play the free edition or buy the standard/deluxe edition.
For free? Yea right. I've already bought GBFV with all the characters and now they're basically asking me to buy rollback netcode for 60$ and will reset the characters I already bought. Total scam
