Thank you guys for your comments about the Cypriot entry. You know after Portugals vicotry last year now Cyprus is the first country with the most participations in the contest without a win. I know that this song can't win but we hope it can reach the top 5 at least. Cyprus is trying too hard the last years to have a good result in the contest. Lets hope that Eleni will do well. Ps: The official page of Miss Universe on instagram used the song to create a video with the top 16 girls who made it to the final. The song is already becoming a hit.
Well, technically it's Spain. They haven't won since 1969. And Cyprus has participated since 1981. But that doesn't matter. Both of them need to put themselves together.

I hate to say it, but Salvador’s win really brought a crazy amount of attention back to eurovision. You can tell with the songs we have so far. It’s hard for us to understand but for an artist, composing music is all about feeling being transmitted to paper to being translated into melody. Not beats after beats after beats. Just my opinion, I respect yours
steven timoteo I have no problem with Salvador's victory, in fact He was one of my favorites even before the all hype. The thing bothers me is that his utterly intolerable behavior during the contest, his bullying the other singers just because their songs are "meaningless". Sometimes everything doesn't need to have a meaning, sometimes you just have fun no matter what the lyrics tell.
Mert Tatar I’m not here to defend Salvador I’m just talking about the music. Last year Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Finland, Azerbaijan even and more. All different genres, great songs with content. The content could be about having fun and be a fun song. Fast food music is sometimes good to just listen but this is a competition leave fast food music for the radio and bring something good to Eurovision. Going back to Salvador, I don’t think he bullied the other contestants. He really liked Belgium and Finland’s and Italy’s song. He just said that he understand the world we live in and his type of music isn’t going to do good at Eurovision. When he got to Kiev he started noticing the hype and got excited. I think what offended people most was his “I don’t care” attitude. I’m Portuguese so I watched a lot of interviews he gave both in English and Portuguese. And considering all that I can see where he comes from. If he said something crazy then I would disagree with him. Idc if he’s Portuguese or not.
The thing I like about this is how catchy, Mediterranean, and well produced this song is. Plus, it will likely stand out with use of pyro, and just by virtue of not being ethnic or a ballad! Definite qualifier, quality, and a great contender for a top ten placing.

So you asked what fire is in Cypriot. It’s fotia. Fuego is the Spanish word for fire. So it’s a good title which might enable Cyprus to gain points from Spanish speaking countries and its neighbours - for we know, Greece is its only supporter. It’s still my stand out track this year and being Greek myself, I know her performances are stellar. She will have a memorable performance for sure.

First, William and Devin are by far my favorite commentators.and I am glad they were the ones that got to do this review. That been said, I’m very bias when it comes to Eleni, I’m a fan of hers since she collaborated with Jbalvin in “tranquila” hence why so many Colombians like me follow her. She can perform very well live and I am sure she is going to give a great show at Eurovision and hopefully her international career will take off. I really hope here in USA we get to see Eurovision on RU-vid cause barely anyone has that Logo Channel.
There are original songs that are true masterpieces while pushing almost every boundary (Georgia 2014) and others that just end up a mess you don't want to play ever again (Georgia 2012). IMO, Fuego has an exquisite melody and structure, and Eleni will juice the hell out of this. For the record, "fast food" dance songs, schlagers and ballads have won or gotten so close to take the prize in recent years. So please, get off your high horses, ladies.

It is sensual and sexual but still not vulgar like Czech song, which I simply can't stand. I love Fuegoooo! No shame in loving this kind of music, it is music for clubs and discos, who doesn't like it can go to the opera or wherever. At least this kind of music is not pretentious and exclusive, elitist and full of itself, it is for everybody who enjoys dancing, so, go CYPRUS!
