Cyril, my brother! God bless America, New Orleans, Austin, Curtis Mayfield, Henry Butler, George Porter Jr, Leo Nocentelli, Raymond Weber, Ivan Neville and freedom loving people everywhere! You have always been a passionate voice for the underdog, crying out for justice, and your version of this great song gives me goosebumps!!!
The late great Henry Butler on piano, Leo Nocentelli on guitar, George Porter Jr., bass, Ivan Neville Hammond B-3. I’m not sure of the drummer. Russell Batiste maybe? What a wonderful band, great song (Curtis Mayfield), and inspired delivery by Cyrille Neville.
Cyril has skills. He sung the hell outta that song. I dont understand why the neville brothers werent in the top bands like the dramatics, ojays, spinners etc. Cyrill was clearly as good as eddie, dennis, david, and the rest.
Cyril the story of your family, your music have made me want to be a better person. God bless our President and God bless an America and ALL of it's people.
Great artist...I first saw Cyrill live at nola, in an appearence of five minutes with another legend Trombone Shorty,, at Tipitina s,, Cyrill was brilliant that night, he is the funk. He did put the show in another level,, a monster!,
Cyril Neville is exuding with New Orleans culture and history. When I'm back in New Orleans , I'm going to have lunch with this New Orleans historian. I'm planning to post footage of his concert which took place two months after hurricane Katrina.
