Cyrille - Melting Poi 

This man does not get nearly enough credit, 10 years old and the community is still processing what Cyrille had to offer in the few videos he shared with us. When I started spinning, this video was only a year old and after years of progressing, traveling, teaching, and performing I can attest that it still remains to this day to be one of the most inspirational flow videos ever made. I don't really have much to say about the contact and manipulation stuff ... I'm still just swinging mine around. But I will say that the tangle and isolation work in this video is completely unbelievable. When I start doing contact, throws, and other manipulations I'll come back and have a whole new set of things to marvel at, but for now I'm just floored by 2:15-3:12 and 6:41-7:09. Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to appreciate the whole video.

Absolutely spectacular sir! Refreshing to see such original material. Especially loved the 1-poi variations. I love to manipulate 1 poi while fire spinning, this gives me a ton of motivation to keep pursuing it. Lastly, @ 3:59, the reg/reverse throw straight into the top throw was just what i've been searching for. Have been trying to incorporate that top throw into my flow somewhere, and you sir have found it. Bravo!

@ericbagai why does he "need" invisible strings to perform? he's not doing magic, he's performing flow/contact poi... with absolute perfection. And bringing the video down to 3-5 minutes would only cut out all of the beautiful work he's created. He's not performing in Vegas, he's demonstrating his mastery of flow arts, and managed to fill an entire 12 minutes full of new stuff. Take it for what it is, there's no need to change a thing. Amazing, masterful, and PERFECT. Cyrille you rock!!! =)

You've inspired me to get a pair of stage ball poi. I loved how much your body was involved. All the little things you were doing with your legs, and facial expressions, among other things, kept me from watching the poi only. With the amount you kept your legs together and a small bend in your knees along with the ropes being constantly around your body, the overall impression I got was tied up, struggling and avoidance. 12 min video and I didn't get bored once, enough said. Good job man.

Cyrille you are one of my biggest inspirations right now. This video is amazing and very innovative. im very interested int he materials your poi are made of. Ive experiemented with lots of different materials but i like the illusions you create. BIg Big Props! your the man ps your music mix is amazing as well i love phaeleh

Cyrille I took you're geometric poi class two years ago at Fire Drums and was brain melted then and now am again, you are a master of your technique. I have been playing with a lot of the meltdown variations you do in this video with great joy. My friend you must come to a Flow Temple party here in the U.S. when you have the chance. @CyrilleHumen I actually liked the cords being less visible in the shadows and more visible in the sunlight. It made the poi look even more like they were floating during your isolations, tosses and rolls.

The master still rocks it! that was freaking tight man... loving the maintained iso weave/mill stuffs and was that h.loops-straightjacket??? I'm liking this direction - i see much juggling crossovers down this tunnel ;)

poi is a great thing to learn but takes a lot of time a commitment. I've been spinning poi pretty much everyday for 4 years and I'm still no where near the level of perfection like cyrille.

@10:00 - 10:30 looked heavily influenced by Glowstringing. I wonder do you glowstring? Not many 12min Poi videos out there that could hold my attention. This one is an exception. Great stuff

what kind of cord did you use for these, i like the barely visible look of them. oh and i like all the snakes/ tracers/ meltdowns you pulled out here. love the feel and flow of those :D

you just blew my mind 10 times over. Absolutely incredible. I've been looking to encorperate body stalls (or whatever theyre called) into routines, but i cant figure them out

yellow attack balls! there were some beautiful moments in there. i see some glowstringing influence, soccer, contact, poi, and looks like possessed too lol.

This is the best poi i have ever watched! (if i ever start playing poi, i will put that video on repeat and slow motion... till i reach this level...)

After seeing this video I went out and bought myself some Yellow contact poi from oddballs. Only trained with chains and tennis balls before. Cheers!
