I have had various messages asking about the bags I use. I have made this video to show my bags and the reason I use them. It also include my bottle holder and lock.

Hi Geoffrey, Great video I took my ranger couple of days ago and I'm sorting out bags. Racks mug guard locks just like you. My Mrs. Thinks I'm mad doing exactly what you are doing with the same bags in my garage, love the Ranger I also have bags for different trips. It must be a cyrusher ranger syndrome thingy,!cheers mate ,,love the vids

Hi Derek. It must be a "man" thing. It is all part of the "process" though and I love the researching and pottering about with all the bags and stuff. Keep playing and spending money. hahaha.

Great set up Geoffrey. Have you ever thought about touring in Europe? Nip down to Hull & take the ferry to Rotterdam. Touring Belgium & the Netherlands. We used to love it in our Motorhome, but you would see far more on a bicycle, camping from place to place 👌🏻👍🏻
@geoffcarol1
@geoffcarol1 Год назад
That sounds a great idea. Not thought of doing it on my bike. I have been abroad touring in my yellow car that you can see in my other videos. Hull is only 40 miles from me so sounds do-able easy enough. I do already have the channel tunnel booked but not sure where to go yet.

10/10 vid mate 👌, ive got my eye on the Ramger and will be using your set up as a base for when i get one. Im also a keen wild camper/bushcrafter and like what you have atm. Ill be looking forward to seeing your bike evolving Im thinking similar panniers but maybe in a shade of brown so it looks a tad more bushcrafty lol....food for thought. Thanks for this vid ive subscribed off this vid mate 👍

Thankyou so much for the message and the nice comments. My bike works really well for me with what I want to do and the bags have opened up so many options and they work very well....in my opinion. You really will enjoy the Ranger. My panniers I have had for years as I got them to use on my tandem. I wouldn't worry about the black as they soon get covered in mud....was cow much the other week.

Useful video thanks. I had been wondering if those panniers would fit on the chunky ranger rack
@geoffcarol1
@geoffcarol1 Год назад
Morning Chris. They fit perfectly. You just need to take the spacer out from the clip. I also fitted an extra clip to the rear just to hold the bottom of the bag more securely. I purchased the extra clips from Ortileb.

Hello Geoffrey, congratulations for this very informative video, I find your taillights very clever with its lights on the sides, can you specify the link where to find it please? Thank you cordially Sylvain

Hello Sylvain. Thankyou for the message and nice comments. The rear light is the best I have ever had and I have had if for quite a few years. It is the Cateye Tl-LD1100 but they dont make it anymore. This seems to be the most "visible" rear one that they make now. www.cateye.com/intl/products/safety_lights/TL-LD820/

Hello, thank you very much for your answer, and your link, a pity that your light is no longer, it's a good model, enjoy your days on your bike, cordially Sylvain

Hi Geoffrey, good video! I was wondering what bags you were using, It seems that you're able to carry a huge amount of food/ cooking supplies with you in your videos! My panniers are not nearly big enough for an actual camping trip so I'm going to look into purchasing what you show here. Thank you!

Morning Tom. It's surprising what you can pack with the proper "gear". I always try to pack things, inside things and use nesting cups and bottles etc. I do take a lot of stuff if I am honest but I enjoy taking certain things and been able to "play". Have a look at a "Firebox Nano Stove". Brilliant piece of kit and fits in a shirt pocket. On a separate note, what is the yellow bike in the back of your shed. It looks interesting.
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Год назад
@@geoffcarol1 Good morning, yes those little folding stoves are great, I just got one myself. The yellow bike is a Sondors. It is a really nice clean little bike, but nowhere near the power of the Ranger! I think boosting its power will be an upcoming project. And, as others have mentioned, you have a beautiful shed!

How do you derestrict the ranger
@geoffcarol1
@geoffcarol1 10 месяцев назад
Undo the screws on the plate by the cranks. Remove the cover plate and disconnect the red wire. Then go into your screens settings and turn up the power from 50 to 100%

How the hell do you charge the bike out in the wild?
@geoffcarol1
@geoffcarol1 Год назад
I haven't needed to yet. I have bought about solar panels and a power bank but I think a second battery would be more suitable if required. I like the winter camping best and when you are in the trees, there is not a lot of sun.
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Год назад
@@geoffcarol1 Yes I'm leaning towards carrying a second battery as well. The price of a good solar charger is actually more than the battery so there's that too.
@geoffcarol1

@@lifebehindbarz60 Do you remember the old "Dynamos" that used to power your bike light from the wheel. I wonder if you could have a flat battery on your rack, attach a dynamo to your wheel and have that charge the flat battery. You could then just keep swapping batteries. I dont think the power output though would be big enough to charge the battery.
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Год назад
@@geoffcarol1 I do remember those, the old spring loaded friction generators. Seems like every old Schwinn bike I ever bought had one of those powering a 12v headlight. You would need to step up the voltage a bit on it but theoretically it could help to charge the spare battery while using the other. Hmmm, I'll have to look around the internet and see what people have tried with that set up.
