Put this $20 dollar narrow wide oval 32T chainring on an inexpensive iFX crank for a reasonably priced 1x drivetrain. Total cost was $63. So far it seems to be a good value for the average rider

BB on my IFX did not last that long but that was expected, got 10 months out of it. My Shimano external BB's poop the bed after 16 months. Not sure these chiner chain rings will last 1/2 as long as a RaceFace or other factory rings, my last 30 tooth $20 Amazon ring was toast after a year. It was the "US Made" 6061 T-6 and the Snail and Deckas are 7075 which is the prefered material for chainrings.

Great video, I just converted my specialized tricross from a double to the same one x set up you have there I just installed it last night. I also got an oval chainring as well, but the only difference is I didn't use the included bottom bracket from that crankset and use a Shimano mountain bike bottom bracket instead for durability purposes. The bottom bracket that came with that cranks for whatever reason didn't appeal to me. I haven't taken it out for a spin yet but so far looks really nice and I'm happy with my new one x 11 set up.

I have the ixf deckas 32t setup and chose to go with a shimano bb52. The weak link is pretty much the cheap included botom bracket.

This video is what I've been looking for! I'm glad that this oval chaining has symmetrical bolt holes and can fit with the cheap ixf crankset. Most images of the oval chainring I've seen has asymmetrical bolt holes for some reason. Either it's the angle of the camera that took the picture, or its just a round version, but they edited the photo making it look oval. Anyways, thanks for the video!

I noticed the bolt holes ate different between the 2 rings. The snail is different position to all other oval 32 rings ive seen. Did you notice a different between the 2 riding ?

I could not tell any difference at all. Back in the 90's I had a bike with Shimano Biopace oval chainrings and could not tell any difference then either.

So how did the oval crank work, did you notice a difference?

My Sharona it works well, no dropped chains. However, I do not feel any performance advantage over round. Feels the same.

My two cents on the oval. I put on an absolute black and ran it for a month. It worked very well and there is a slight preformance gain on steep technical climbs but only slight. I did not like how it felt on the flats and downhill. I went back to my round. Truth be told you wouldn't hate it but you probably wont love it either. As Tony says really not much difference. So little if someone put it on your bike without telling you you would probably not even notice the change. As for the chinese rings several of them are made at the same factory but different names. I ride with some guys that ride hard and often and have had no issues with them at all. Good luck my friend ride safe.
