CZ 452 Ultra Lux (Super Exclusive) Silent Squirrel Sniper Rifle 

I know this video is old AF. But just wanted to give a shout out. I just recently dug my CZ 452 Lux out of the safe for the first time in probably 20yrs and fell in love all over again. I'm getting kind of burned out on the whole "tacti-cool" scene. And this classic rimfire just takes me back to my roots of what made me fall in love with guns and the outdoors as a kid. Beautiful wood, blued steel, fantastic accuracy, and reduced sound, makes me feel warm and fuzzy and flooded with memories of a bygone era. I would definitely recommend the 452 lux or ultra lux to anyone looking for a classic rimfire. The downside is you can only find them used................and you're going to pay a stiff price. But if you can afford it, you will not regret it.

The UL was my second CZ. Without a doubt the easiest way to get suppressor levels with subsonic ammo without having to invest in a suppressor. Haven't really tried it much at 100 yards, but if yours is rocking bulk ammo at 100 yards, that's a cheap date my friend. The 452's are certainly good shooters. Thanks for checking out the video.

I live in the UK so we get CZs from the main factory in the Cezch Republic and they still make all the models of the 452 from about £300-£450 new. My dad bought two 452's and they are both amazing rifles.

Good video. I have owned a ZC 452 Ultra lux for a year now and I love it. I shoot 100 yards with a scope and use 1225 fps solid led 40gr 333 to a box bullets and am holding an inch and half group. This rifle is much better than I am.

The trigger kit in this rifle is the "yodave" kit. It comes with 4 different springs and 4 different shims to adjust weight of the trigger and creep in the trigger. It can be found on ebay by searching for cz 452.

They are the factory swivel studs. I removed the sling adapters and had to bore out the holes in the studs for a bipod to fit. The Ultra rocks with a bipod attached.

I've got one of these too. To anyone: If you don't have one, go get one....fast. At the rifle range, I can hit a plate sized target at three hundred yards with iron sights only. Scoped accuracy matches my 1937 Winchester Model 52D target rifle. If I could have only one .22 rimfire this CZ 452 Lux would be my choice.

Just a personal test. Using a rubber mallet with stock removed from the upper you strike the rear of the receiver to try to make the firing pin drop. I wouldn't bang on the rear of the stock, because of possible breakage.

There was a large shipment just brought into the US, so they should be on the market at fair prices. As for the subsonic rounds, I think they are the ideal choice for the extra length in barrel with sound suppression in mind. I have however heard of squib loads with the CCI Quiet loads, due to lack of velocity. I won't be shooting those in my UL any more. Thanks for commenting and watching.

The only thing i got for mine was extra magazine s 25 rounds they ho for 29$ its not too expensive i got 3 ,thank you for your video (made me buy one ) i remember seeing cz 22 rifles advertising in gun magazines but it was your video that convince me ,God bless you .

I can't imagine how quiet it is suppressed. It's quiet enough as is, but I like the idea of the suppressor.

Great rifle. It does well with cheap ammo too. But Wolfe and Aguila certainly give you that extra precision and consistency. Your cheap mounts look just fine on it. I run BKL 257's (medium) on mine and they hold well. I have a Nikon Prostaff 4x32 -- although I take it off and go open sights from time to time. For hunting, I'd keep them on, but I punch paper and plink, and glass on this rifle is just not fair -- almost no fun because it's so easy.

Pretty close. The stock on the lux is walnut and the barrel length is 24.6". The UL has a beechwood stock and a 28.6" barrel.

Saw they were getting discontinued, and I love my other czs so much I had to jump on it right now. The salesman is a friend and just rolled his eyes. Another cz rimfire? Unless you shoot one, you can't appreciate the lovely wood, the fit and finish, and sorry to say it like everyone else does, what an accurate gun. Got it before it was discontinued, scoped it as well. Lifetime rifle. Love it a lot.

Squirrels sure are fun to hunt. This is a unique rifle and a great one to have in any collection. I've heard a lot of good things about the Burris Timberline. I really like a rifle that has a appetite for CCI Minimag. Thanks for watching.

The Ultra Lux has to be the best looking .22LR on the market and will out-shoot anything under $1,000.

Not a thing wrong with those rings. They actually look good too.

I'll bet that's the quietest .22 on the market, period. It's got a lot of volume and mass to dissipate the pressure.

I like the look of the longer barrel but there are some bad things with long barrels. With a rimfire a shorter barrel is faster than a longer one. But a center fire needs a longer barrel than to be faster.

You mentioned a trigger kit. Which kit would that be? Great looking rifle, by the way.

Great. In Sweden the squirrels are so small one would have to be very patient to serve them for dinner :)

I noticed you have swivel studs on your stock. Did yours come that way or did you convert it?- I'd like to get a bipod on mine but can't due to the factory sling mounts.

Thanks for the video. I've been wanting to pick up a 452 or 455 for a while now. Like you, I would scope it - but I've assumed that I needed to get the American version since its stock doesn't have the down sloping comb that the Lux version does. Do you find it awkward at all having the scope with the lower comb?

Fancy wood on a CZ can be hard to come by, but there are some lookers out there. All CZ's except for the Scout are adult sized rifles. When I think of all of your parameters, I'd say look at a Cooper Jackson Squirrel Rifle, but be warned they are high dollar.

I'm sure you could get that price for yours because I think only 110 of those were made. I'm guessing the orangish colored stock too. I'd buy now, based on them wanting to phase out the 452's.

That looks like Maple? Don't they come with beechwood stocks? If its beechwood it sure is pretty. Nice rifle!

Super Colibris from a 28" luxe are quieter than a spring piston airgun. Subsonics are not, unless you're talking about the world's loudest springer. Subsonics quieter than a PCP airgun? Maybe; about the same. Good vid.

Have you ever chronographed this rifle ? I read somewhere once that a rifle barrel that long actually decreases velocity due to the fact that all the power has burned out and the friction of the rifling causes the bullet to slow . I do not know if this is true or not . Would be interesting to know if it does . Thanks , always enjoy your videos.

I had a leupold with fine crosshairs but I found the crosshairs got "lost' when looking at tree foliage.

You are crazy to change weapons to take a 100yd shot. You can still take 100yd, 150yd and 200yd shots with a cz that is sited in at 50yd. Just have to learn your MOA. I thoroughly enjoy taking long shots with my lux but that might be my military blood coming out. Don't take this comment the wrong way my friend I just hate to see you leave this beauty at home and take the other lol. Nice gun

I hot my 452 ultra lux and on the barril it only mark 452 and on my friends its mark 452 -455 does anybody knows the difference.
