Well done for not instantly jumping online and bashing the company. Sounds like the first gunsmith was too lazy to properly look into it. Subscribed 👍🏻
I have the exact same gun. Love it! Best group so far is .385" at 100 yards with SK Pistol Match Special, but it's usually in the .8" range. It shoots just about any ammo .4" and under at 50.👍
Interesting story. Thanks for sharing. You are a good man to stick with it until getting the issue resolved. There are others would just sell it and pass the issue to someone else. I bought a CZ 457 Varmint a few weeks ago, and will finally take it to the range this Friday. I don't expect issues, but CZ patrons need to know if/when any company's customer service is lacking. With social media these days, a company can inflict serious financial harm on itself if it falls down to support its customers. Customer care is the most important factor when purchasing anything.
Thank you sir! I just ran into your video, really appreciate your honesty, it is very good information. Just ordered the Varmint model with the 20.5 barrel about 5 days ago because of the so many reviews about their accuracy. Hoping not to be let down, will compare with my Savage, Ruger and Bergara, they are descent at 200 yards hitting steel. Had a similar issue with my Savage Mark2 FVSR and had to send it back to Savage and it came back working as supposed to. Also at times I get weak ejection with the Savage B22 Precision but I have done the same thing by using a light weight sand paper on the ejector, fortunately it has not been like the FVSR. Again thank you very much.
I have a 455 that I bought used and upon getting it I found out why the guy never shot it. The bolt was horrible, binding, and you had to put real force to cycle. The guy that sold it to me said it just needed to break in. I knew there was no warranty on it but contacted CZ about any incite they might be able to give me on if they had come across this problem before. In the meantime I checked it out myself and found that the firing pin was dragging on the bolt locking sear so hard that it was scraping metal off the pin. I noticed there was a rise in the pin, about 1/32" that I didnt see in any pictures on the net. I tried stoning the pin but after 8 hours I was no closer. I figured I can buy a new pin if I screw it up so I took it out to my bench grinder and took off that rise on the pin. I tried it again, without stoning, and it was way better. I took the pin out and stoned it again, polishing it to a mirror finish. Walla!! I now had a smooth bolt and the lock sear worked perfect. CZ's customer service didnt impress me at all. I told them that I was not looking for warranty but just some incite. Right now it has been 4 months since I contacted them and still nothing. Listening to your story reaffirms my thought that CZ customer service is severely lacking. I know this problem has probably happened to others that purchased a 455 and hope my post benefits them.
Thanks for the video...I had CZ USA replace a Dan Wesson Bruin 10mm handgun for an issue with the slide release. It too had been back once before and the problem was not resolved. Shipped me a new gun direct, just as in your case. In the end, I can't complain about that kind of service!
Take into account that the overwhelming defect cause at any company regardless of the industry is “no trouble found”. You need to be your own best advocate and whenever possible record the problem that you are experiencing via video with sound. There have been advancements in technology that allow our smart phones to capture a lot more detail than just writing something down. Most fire arm companies are still operating with 1950s technology.
Interesting, I purchased the 457 Lux to compete in .22 silhouette matches. I started getting stuck cases in the middle of a match so I had to drop out. It had about 400 rounds of mixed brands at that point but after cleaning its been working fine. It's iron sights only so I have no plans to mount a scope, I will always wonder what the ultimate accuracy might be
Wow CS sounds weak Iv got the 457 Varmint MTR 20” Diging it only Issues I have 3 ten round Mags Hangs up last round #10 on all 3 I baby this Rifle Have only fired SK -L and Eley and keep it Clean 🤔Thanks for sharing hope no more Issues for you!🤞🏻✌🏻
I'm having a problem with CZ customer service warranty right now at this very moment. I bought a brand-new CZ P07 9mm. when letting down the hammer (as if you had a round in the chamber) it will not lock into double action, the trigger is free & you can pull it but it's like its broke & will not catch. I bought it Nov-17th 2022. I filed a warranty claim on CZ-USA website as told to do by customer service. I have e-mailed & called several times, but I am still waiting for my return shipping label & it's now Dec-4th 2022. I was always a CZ fan, but this here has made me realize that a gun & firearm company is only as good as its customer service! I'm done buying CZ. they don't want to fool fixing their junk that they are putting out now. so, before you buy CZ, make 100% it works flawlessly before you give up your cash to purchase one.
I wouldn't go that far. I still like their products, also it's worth noting were dealing with CZ USA and not big CZ. I think CZ USA needs to work on their CS. Hopefully this video and your comment gets seen by the right person and it can be fixed so their more responsive and proactive about fixing stuff.
I bought a 457 Varmint and had issues with light strikes on most ammo. CZ sent me a new striker spring, but it didn't fix the issue. They said I would have to send it in to them. I took the stock off and the grub screws holding the barrel in weren't even hand tight. reseated the barrel and tightened them down and now it's great. I'm sure they would have found it if I sent it to them but their support people didn't even mention to check the screws...
My 457 22 LR always drops the last casing, it will fling all and the last one drops them ever time, sent it for warranty work they said it was dirty and the first 5 round I shot , it dropped the last one again and they would not let me speak to the gunsmith very frustrating .
Glad to see you finally got the issue resolved. That customer service certainly needs a bit of improvement. How does it work when they change your rifle with new one? Since serial number changed did you have to have it sent to an FFL and do a new 4473?
I'm having same problem, the bullet gets stuck in barrel and case off trying to extract it, don't matter ammo, can be the 5th shot or tenth or back to back
cogan - Have you tried removing the extractor claws and giving them, the channel they sit in, also locking band a good cleaning? Did it to mine, so far so good, good luck.
I have a 457 lrp with match chamber and it does not like American ammo to inconstant in shell size diameter and would stick in breach switch to European ammo SK pistol match best rifle i have.
I have the same rifle as yours mine extracts but constantly drop the casing, sent it away for warranty they said it was dirty got it back from them after months of waiting it has the same problem -Frustrating
