My new P0-9 jammed after a few thousand rounds. The gunsmith at the range got the round out for me so I could mail it back to CZ. They made it free and as easy as possible. The gun came back fixed but without an explanation. Upon disassembly, I found one of the lower corners of the ramp had been shortened. It works fine now but I have to concentrate. The longer sight axis allows greater accuracy but my flyers are more extreme. I like if but got off to a bad start.
Bought my OD P-09 yesterday. I went in, resigning myself to a P-07 suppressor-ready (because that's all the gun shop had in that model), but I knew that I'd never add a suppressor and feared the tall sights would hang up when drawing. Salesman and I talked it out and decided the P-09 was the better choice. I could NOT be happier. Can't wait to get to the range.
The one I shot was a tactical (high sights and threaded barrel), and I got tight groups as well (and I don't shoot well at all). So I know it's the gun all day.
Thanks for the recommendation to shoot 124 grain. I will only purchase this in the future. I own several CZ's, and plan to build a collection over time.
after watching all the glowing reviews I just bought the P-09 Suppressor Ready with threaded 5.15" barrel, tall night sights , with 2 - 21round magazines.. its a good thing. The most accurate bullseye shooter, stock out of the box pistol that I've shot in 60 years of shooting. Too bad it's grip is not as ergonomic as its grand daddy my old 75 preB. But, love the simplistic Omega trigger system. Love the decocker. Love no dingus triger. Love the stability of this large frame. LOVE P-09.🇨🇿 🇺🇲 Going to buy a P-07 Suppressor Ready now. 2 bowls of ice cream is better than one.
Great review, simple and to the point. I was considering the P07 but found it a bit small at 3.6 inch barrel, thus it seems I am leaning towards the P09 now for EDC.
Got my P09 2 months ago. A real tack driver and the finish on the slide is superb. Not heavy at all to carry all day but a large shirt and a bikini holster is essential. It is my only firearm (for now) and I am going to make it work.
i rock the p09 daily. if i need to conceal it i run my vp9. cz on the hip really not as heavy as you think. its nice to have the larger barrel if you needed to go to work.
Uh, I own an 80% G17 and the P09. They are very comparable in size. The slide is the same length. I have the threaded barrel in each, the CZ being slightly longer. Grip height is very similar. The biggest differences are the reverse rails on the CZ, the CZ having a narrower grip, and the CZ having the additional beaver tail on the back. The only reason the CZ is longer as a whole is because of that beaver tail. For comparisons, these details are important.
The best way to disassemble the CZs and their clones (not the P10's) is by using the magazine botton to push the disassembly pin. If used in anger, one may not have the rods, or other things available, but the magazine will be available.
I have a pink baretta, which is a 45 weapon. I need to go to the gun range though, fam. I just saw you in Ralph's Trucking's live. I am so, so glad that I linked up with you, Hammer Striker. Have a blessed day.
Nice review and I have a request. In 2016 you reviewed the CZ P-07. In 2018 you reviewed the CZ P-09. In 2020, can you revisit your Czech family of guns with a comparison video shooting the P-07 and the P-09?
Nice pistol. I was very much on the fence between the P09 and the Beretta APX. I ended up purchasing the APX but I am second-guessing myself... Thanks for the video and Cheers!
MDpolo the APX is a great pistol. For me its still the gun i shoot the fastest when going for speed on steel plates. But i also love the P09 too. Just save up and buy the CZ too. Both are great guns.
First: great review!! Second: what about the possibility to mount a dot? It'll be a nice tool to improve along the way using the the CZ as competition gun as you mentioned
I really do enjoy my P09. Only qualm I have with it is that for my personal fit the medium sized back strap is not large enough and the large back strap is too large. I'd really love a size in between the two. Also it very well could have been solely my gun(Urban Gray P09 tact) but my front an rear sight were never loctite from the factory. My 1st or 2nd range visit my rear sight became very loose and walked around, then the next range visit after fixing the rear my front sight flew completely off. Luckily I was able to find it and loctite it once I got home but i wasn't too happy to say the least lol. It's been probably 2 years since then and the gun has been perfect.
I had the same issue with the M&P 45. Picked up an extra backstrap to shape and stipple myself. This kept the gun as a whole untouched and giving me the perfect fit at very little cost.
@@biggboysouth Absolutely. It's an easy process and there is a ton of reference out there. Search for Glock stippling and Glock grip customization. The practises they show transfer nicely when working on the backstrap.
@@MDpolo have u seen how close and slow he's shooting? Wouldnt say that's very hard to do, do u? It seems hes waiting for his sights to settle after every shot is what I'm saying.
Paul Highbaugh depends on what you are practicing for I guess. As I'm sure you know, most self-defense situations happen inside of 7 feet. I suppose everyone trains for what they believe they need. Have a good day.
Since these don't have a cutout and it may be difficult to do since the slide is low-profile (not much to cut into), most people use a saddle-mount. These slide over the gun and attach to the Picatinny rail and have a platform above the slide to put the optic on. They seem to average around $150, you would still have the cost of the optic you choose. Some of them are designed to work with a specific optic so you have to make sure the mount and optic you choose will play nicely together. I have not tried any so I don't want to put links in that may seem like a recommendation of one but if you search "CZ P-09 Optic mount" you will get several hits that you can evaluate.
I don't know about you.. but I just bought a P10F, only to find out they only come in 10 round magazines.. If you can even find them. I'm just venting.. AAAHHHHH
That sucks, that happen to me once when I bought the sig p365 x carry that comes with normally 12 rd mags. The gun store wrote on the tag it was a 12 rd gun and then I got home and learned the mags internally blocked to only hold 10 rds. Mags unless Glock typically are expensive. But hey I bought the some additional mags. Never can have to many mags. But I would be pissed with one of the major points of the p10f is a high cap gun.
@@smoothoperator137 I just drilled out the 10round dimples, sanded the inside flush.. cut 2 loops off the bottom of the spring.. viola, 19 round magazines..
Hammer Striker you can carry the CZ cocked and locked if you convert it from the decocker to the manual safety. Then its just as consistent as the Glock but with a better trigger. And in my experience..just as reliable. Dont get me wrong..i can appreciate Glocks reliability and simplicity of use but if i can shoot a different gun more accurately, i will take accuracy any day over the popularity king..just sayin.
