Out of all my CZ P lines, i love the versatility of the S. The F sits at my bedside, my C sits on the kitchen refrigerator, and my S sits in my appendix holster. CZ by far!
Because of this review I went with the Hyve in matte black and I am impressed. The fit and finish is better than the factory +2 and it actually looks like the should've came with the gun. My only complaint is the HYVE billboard they put on the side of it but other than that I'm a happy camper.
Bought one new didn’t get mag exts included, so just have standard 12 mag. I get pinched every first round I fire, then rest of mag is fine. Definitely going to check the Hyve out. Thanks!
I have the Cz p10s. I have the Hyve +3 but I can’t add +3. Do I need to keep the mag plate in to get the +3 or do I need to remove the plate?…. It took me a year plus to get this handgun…..keep,informing us
This is what I needed to see. I want these mag extensions, but didn't want to drastically increase the print. Looks great! Gonna order a few. I have a few p10F mags with +5 extensions for my P10S at the range. These +3 will be great for EDC
For me the UTG works best Tried some others that didn't fit my hand Gonna try some +1 options from CZ parts Went with FOD holster and it's great P10S rules
The Hyve set screw is terrible. I bought the +2 for my P10M. Put it on and tightened the set screw and…still slid off. Ended up doing a couple small tacks with epoxy to keep it on. Works great now but the set screw sucks.
My problem with the OEM +2 is that it curves outward, pushes my pinky out and makes my grip feel unnatural. The Hyve looks like it should solve that since it goes straight down. It also fills the awkward gap on the rear and makes it look a lot more uniform.
The second Mag doesn't pinch you as much because it brings your pinky forward a little bit more. I wonder if you put some tape on the stock mag to bring you your finger forward a bit, it would prevent pinching. I'm not talking about covering the Gap either.
Hello, learned a lot from the video and neither do I feel like I'm the only one on the planet to own a S anymore Lol.. Question: I needed a magazine for my P10S I just bought new but the 12+1 was taken out due to state restrictions. Can I use a P10C magwhile I track down actual S clips in the mean time? They're sold out everywhere I've checked. Thanks
@@ojh7025 sleeves not really sure. The only thing I can think of is getting a regular 12+1 mag with a +5 baseplate or whatever increase in capacity your looking for. +5 is the max I've seen for baseplates I believe. Few companies out there that make em
Hello! Did you have trouble with the hyve extension ? A follower jam when using the plus 3? I read a comment about this on RU-vid I am looking for an extension for the p10s that does not pinch my finger and adds at least 2 rounds Any other suggestions? Thanks
I have the CZp10s with Hyve +3. I am looking for a holster that will give me could retention for the hoster. what brand do u recommend, thx..love your Vid, great sound
Did the extensions work fine for you? I have problem with +2 (the stock one as well), after last shot slide does not lock in rear position. It does lock every time when I shoot with standard plate (12 rounds mag). I think of looking now to replace springs for either ones from P10C clip or aftermarket ones like those added to +5 plate by Strike Industries.
there are a few 3 d prints to extend the mag for the s version. BE CAREFUL! In some states you can only have 10 rounds. Only print the one(s) that extend the pinky for a better grip but not the rounds.... you can et in real big trouble if you are not careful on this.
im running henning baseplates, i tried to run hyve mags but they got chewed up trying to put them on. I like the henning baseplates but ive pinched my fingers a couple of times heh.
Sweet, Hyve makes good stuff. Are you still carrying the P-10S? I'm torn between it and the HK VP9SK. I have the full size VP9 and am very confident and accurate with it so the SK makes sense. However, when I picked up a P10S at my gunshop it felt amazing. It "pointed" dead on for me. Trigger felt even better than the HK as well.
Have you noticed any difference with the spring stiffness? I really like these but the only barrier is if the factory mag would have any reliability issues with this extension.
I tried a HYVE and had difficulty getting 15 rounds loaded. I just loaded 14 and it fed all the rounds okay, but the slide failed to lock back after the last round. I suspect the spring is not stiff enough to activate the slide lock.
@@raauger i can only get 13 in. my slide locks fine but i got on here real quick to see if anyone else had problems. at 2 mags i took mag back apart and then reinstalled and still couldnt get more than 13? any thoughts?
@@joshuadavis3560 Here is what I have right now. "Shield Arms" (shieldarms.com) makes a +5 magazine extension kit that includes a longer spring. They will sell the spring as a separate item so I decided to give it a try. It was a real pain to install, but now the slide will lock back on the last round. Okay, if the longer spring gives enough compression to lock back the slide how can I get more compression out of the stock spring? I decided to try leaving the locking plate on the spring. The HYVE doesn't have a hole to accept the locking plate so I modified the plate by slicing off the locking nub. Come to think of it, did you leave the locking plate on the spring? It takes up space in the stack and will certainly interfere with loading additional rounds, especially if you do not eliminate the locking nub. Anyway, it worked. I have one HYVE with a longer spring, and another with the stock spring and a modified locking plate. I can only get 14 rounds in each of them, but both slides do lock back after firing the last round. "Henning Group" (henningshop.com) sells a magazine extension that is a +2 for a P-10C and a +1 for a P-10S. Back when I bought it they were selling a modified follower that would make the extender a +2 for the P10S. All they did to modify the follower was file down the forward and rear legs and sell it for $4. Hell, you could do that yourself with a fingernail file or sandpaper. Which makes me think, what if I modify the followers in my HYVE setup? Will I finally be able to load 15 rounds? The Henning Group extension is really nice. It adds less than a quarter inch to the overall height and feels way better than the stock floor plate.
Great video I have hyves on a few of my glocks. I just bought a p10s and was wondering did you change out the mag spring for the hyve +3? And what plate mount did you use for your holosun? Thanks
Hi there, very informational video. I have a question about your TLR7A. Did you have to get aftermarket keys in order to install it on your P10S or did you get the sub version TLR7A? I recently got mine and the keys that came with it do not fit on my P10S. Thank you again for the video!
@@overlandedc Thank you for the reply! I believe it's the 1913-4 key that needs to be machined down but if the sub version corrected this problem, I will probably go that route
@@overlandedc thanx for the suggestion..holster look great....I think I going to purchase--unfortunately the discount code does not work..can u confirm..thanks again..
What kind of holsters would you recommend for the p10s? I've heard and seen multiple recommendations, but they're all for the p10c. Very nice setup, this is actually the exact setup I'm wanting to have, although I've been looking more towards the TLR-7 as a light for that more flush fit.
Great video! What are your thoughts on Hyve's preassembled extensions, magazine and extension, they're selling? My P-10 S didn't come with the base pad ext. you showed and I bought a couple of the Hyve preassembled. Now wondering if I should've saved money by not getting the preassembled version... CZ parts has a little pinky like base pad, plus zero, that I'm thinking of buying for EDC. Have you seen those? Any thoughts?
I don't think it's a bad idea to buy them directly from Hyve. I haven't seen the extension you referred to but it sounds like the UTG one I have. Plus zero but adds a little more to the grip.
Question, what is the brand for the $12.95 extension. I can not hear clearly on the video. Also, I cannot find anywhere where you can use the 10C mag on the 10S. Can someone elaborate? Thanks
Do the 10rd mags that are offered with some p10s able to have 12 RDS put in them? I know the holes in the back dont have 12 but there doesn’t look to be any pins in the side. Are the base plates not able to be removed? I use shield arms for my p07 and those will work with a p10s but just curious if you can modify the 10rd mags out for them. They look almost the same except the rear window holes
I put the Hyve +3 mag extension on and now the slide doesn't stay open when empty. It ran perfect no malfunctions everything cycled through when I took it to the range. Will replacing the spring in the mag help? Also Is it something to be worried about or is it fine leave it?
Is anyone having issues cycling Hornady critical defense or other defense rounds through that weapon? So far, I have to use regular Hornady defense rounds.
Hello, do your Hyve extensions rattle with either 13 or 15 rounds loaded? I have two mags set up with the Hyves, and when I move the mag around the bullets rattle with an odd-numbered loadout (can’t remember if it holds true for all odd values, but definitely for 15 and 13 rounds). Just wondering if it’s normal...thanks!
I work at a huge gun store in NC and we’re one of the largest CZ dealers in the country. P10S optics ready and the regular p10s dont come with mag extensions. Ive seen hundreds of these and none have mag extensions. The store he got them from probably just included them as a package, its not a CZ factory thing to include them
@@jeb-ds5ie He was misleading at the start of the video saying his gun came with the mag extensions and 3 mags. At about 5:20 he quickly said he got the gun at a private party sale. Meaning the previous owner put the Holosun 507C on it, bought a extra mag and the 2 mag extensions then sold it to him that way! Probably not misleading intentionally but he could have said so at the start of the video and avoided the confusion. All that being said.😁 I put the 507C on my P10S, bought a extra mag and Henning mag extensions before I even shot the gun. Works great for me. 👍
@@leonardjoseph295 I ended up opening up the 10 rd mags and it looks like it's just a different spring but the mag housing is the same as the 12 rd mag. I ordered some +5 shield arms mag extensions and was able to get to a 16 rd capacity.
I live in one of those less free 10rd max capacity states so I'm looking for a +0 pad just to give me a little more area to wrap my pinky around. Does HYVE or anyone else you know of offer a +0 extended base pad?
Can the 10rd mags have another 2 put in them? They look identical almost to the 12rd mags? I don’t see any pins in the sides, is there a limiter near the base place inside?
I love the Hyve extensions however, their quality control has gone downhill rapidly. I hope they get it together, because they are the best in my opinion
EDC Gear & Gun Reviews Thanks a MILLION, I’ll go run and grab the two I saw for the time being. The base plate was longer when I popped the Mag in and I was worried. It seated well though, it just looks like an extendo 😭😭🤦🏽♂️ but I’ll take it
You don't have to. Some like the idea I personally don't as I feel they defeat the purpose of the clear sight picture that a red dot gives you. I like lower 1/3 personally
